What are your thoughts on the results of the survey. Do you think that teen culture is actually more in favor of the sanctity of marriage or are teens today sex-driven mindless creatures like MTV portrays them to be?

I want to stay pure untill marriage, It's not like i'm having troubles with it or anything, i just really cannot see myself with a girl/woman who doesn't share the same thoughts about God, The Bible etc.
Also i think that God really is clear on this subject, there's multiple scriptures on it, so i will do anything i can to obey those.
Just how i think of it really.

Well not really, i live in Holland, don't know if it's much different than USA or Canada but on my entire school, there's not a single guy or girl who shares the same faith(School counts like 150 students)
Everyone talks very openly about sex, sometimes they ask me too, i just say i want to keep virgin untill i get married, they think it's stupid but whatever haha
Unfortunately i haven't got many christian friends, i go to a fairly small church where there's only about 8 people my age, Majority of those share the same though about sex before marriage though.

So within Christianity you think there is that feeling of marriage first but the world is dominant and says otherwise, how about people from the US or Canada or Asia?

The things on TV are not always real! But I can believe that there are teens whom have set strong goals to not just say "I'm going to wait until my wedding night" but actualy do it, not the easiest thing in the world to do but with love ones and rooted Christians to back them up and help them. No it's not a shock that the poll says more are wanting to wait.

I can not speak for all of North America but I can say that the teens I hang out with are interested in waiting... In my classes I will hear the rare comment from a random guy or girl talking about their "weekend fun"

i didnt wait now i have a 7 week old son (7 weeks today) so i recomend people to wait having a kid is hard

I am highly against sex before marriage. I think that most of my particular class are not interested in it either. However, we do have a few that are probably doing it...but not a ton of students. So basically what kelseybear said.

Congratulations!! I know you may get weird looks and people whispering behind your back... I don't have a child but I do have a 18 month old little bro how when I am helping my mom out in public gets mistaken as mine... I think that everyone whom is or is thinking about having sex should take care of a baby for a few days

Sorry to hear that! My little brother gets bounced from home to home can be tough... So if you had that chance to talk to a girl or guy whom was thinking about having sex be for marrige what would you say!?

get checked and then get protected IF they are still gonna do it
but contraception isnt 100% effective so be careful

I go to a school of over 4,000 students and the attitude towards sex sounds similar to your school. Not many Christians in the school, but there are some like us. My school is not a very good school and their has been talk about it being closed or split up. Most kids talk about having sex before marriage, and the school is constantly offering free condoms. The United States is extremely diverse, so different areas, states, and schools will all be different.
