I didn't mean to sound like I was knocking your music (or to knock it). It just isn't my thing. But I'm glad it's out there for those who do prefer and love it. I'm always glad when there is a Christian alternative within a genre because then the people who enjoy it can do that while getting a message that challenges or lifts them in their faith.
I'm so glad that you went to the ER when you did. It sounds like you were right on the verge of a massive heart attack or stroke. So it's stayed controlled since then?
So sad about Winnie the Pooh! LOL He probably has a very manly name like Winston, but nicknames can be difficult. lol I do agree about his voice. It is irritating-- high and a bit whiney. LOL @ your final summation of him! LOL I think it is a good set of stories for small children, something kind and gentle but also with small adventures. Everyone needs to start somewhere.I guess that is why it holds such a special place with me, certainly not because I find it particularly exciting now. well, ok.. maybe I DO still enjoy them, though. probably mostly because of the music LOL.

I struggle with anxiety too. I just keep reminding myself that as long as I'm still "struggling" with it I haven't given in so that's a good thing.

How would one give in to anxiety?
For panic attacks it's actually suggested to Not fight it, but let it happen. Its pretty difficult to do though.

I agree about panic attacks, there really isn't anything to do but get through it. When that hits you just do the best that you can at the time. When I was referring to anxiety and no giving in to it, I was thinking more of the underlying anxiousness that can niggle at your spirit and make you fretful. Not exactly the same but yes very similar and definitely related. When my anxiety (which has definite underlying causes or issues) starts to creep up and get the best of me I do fight it-- I pray, HARD, and listen to music or speak scriptures or whatever it takes to remind myself of God's truth and perspective on whatever is trying to smother me. It's pretty difficult too but so important. When my circumstances get so crazy and I get to a point where I'm ready to just give up and let it all wash over me I do have to fight because in that case it's the enemy of my soul who is lying to me and smothering me and using my own fears and insecurities against me. Anyway, I'm just SO thankful that God is God and that He is there with me in those times of fear and anxiety... lifting me above and out of them if I let Him.
And, as for the pantsless Pooh.

i was just saying, it's weird that i like it, sonically, because i get migraines too, and it would make a lot of sense to not be able to really deal with it. my migraines aren't triggered by that kind of noise, tho. the music reminds me of migraines, but it doesn't bother me. you know how listening to the blues can cheer a person up? i have that kind of relationship with bm

And thank you for your prayers! I actually do have some crazy stuff going on -- always it seems anymore -- as well as a heartbreak that I'm trying to survive (bc sometimes that's all you CAN do is hold on to God). Nights have been especially hard for me and I have a lot of trouble sleeping- so sometimes I just can't... and then other times I totally crash. Just really having a hard time getting that regulated but again.. sometimes you just do what you can and what you have to to get through until it gets easier.
Anyway, thanks for sharing those songs.

it's been 20-25 years since i read those books & i don't recall anything specific anymore, but i remember getting some good things out of them. i read them keeping in mind, this is a perspective from a very wise man ((Lao Tzu)) who was ignorant of Christ but not necessarily ignorant of wisdom or of goodness. i just had to translate, in my mind, how some of the things he said from behind a veil relate to what we know with the veil now removed.
in re: concern over how well it all fit, it wouldn't concern me if Milne was a daoist and purposefully incorporated some of that philosophy into his books. truth is truth, and God reveals through His creation truth about Himself to all people, whether they ever knew the gospel or not - so i can read about other religions or beliefs 'with a grain of salt' and looking for truth in them, comparing it with what i know from scripture and from the teaching Spirit in my heart.
i do still get migraines, tho thankfully no major attacks for a little over a year. the last *big* one had me alternately blacking out and puking from the pain in my bathroom floor for about 10 hours
still don't really know what triggers them, sometimes stress, dehydration or lack of sleep contribute, but i've had them even when i know for sure none of those things are factors. sometimes a *regular headache* that i can attribute some cause to turns into something much worse, and sometimes they just appear out of seemingly nowhere. i'm overly light sensitive, and that's probably the most frequent factor, but they happen in the middle of the night, too. when it does happen i want to be in the dark, tho.

Eeyore is the one that I relate to the best 'cause he suffers from depression too.I agree about panic attacks, there really isn't anything to do but get through it. First, I can totally appreciate (and agree with) what you were saying about truth being truth and that there is a lot out there that is still good to learn and know even though it may come to us from a different, even unorthodox, source. (I know that you don't know me so this will probably be an absurd thing to say, but, if that didn't come across right please just know that I am extremely tired and probably shouldn't even be trying to respond tonight anyway. But I didn't want to just let it go.). Main point being that I agree with you and you stated it very well.
As for the migraines, I take ibuprofen scheduled through my day as well as a tablet allergy med (zyrtec equiv) AND a corticoid steriod nasal spray as needed (like Nasocort).. and then when it still didn't stop completely he added blood pressure meds. (I didn't and don't have high blood pressure, it was specifically to help dilate blood vessels in my brain to relieve pressure.) I did have a turn trying all of the migraine meds but they wouldn't touch it. And as weird as it may sound (and it might not work for another living person, but this combo that he came up with have helped me SO much. I rarely have migraines, much less headaches, anymore. (I do occasionally though.) I should probably tack on that around that same time he all but definitely diagnosed me with multiple sclerosis as well.. so I'm not sure how that might figure into the mix between the way he treated the migraines for me and any influence the ms might've already been having as far as causing or magnifying them. Hope that wasn't too messy of an answer. And I didn't consider it prying at all. I hope it somehow can open a door that will help you as well.

Have you tried natural supplements? They're not as effective as medication, but if your anxiety isn't really bad it can help lessen it. When i feel anxiety creep up i take Gaba. Get the kind you can open the pill and it has the powder inside (blanking on the name) and put it in a bottle of water and shake it up. For lesser anxiety i take a good chug at first then sip on it every few minutes. For stronger anxiety i may drink as much as i can at first and then make another bottle to sip on. Or you can even take the pill, but they actually suggest putting it in water. Vitamin b12? or b6? I think it's 12 can boost the effects. 750 mg. You can get 90 for $15-20. I use a brand called Source Naturals. It may be worth looking into. You'll need to find a health food/vitamin store as Walmart won't carry it. But they do carry the B12 super cheap.

I deal with or have dealt with all of them at some point or another.. and.. when I think I've got them behind me and I'm rolling free, I get hit again. I would venture to say that a lot more people deal with anxiety at some level in our day and age than ever have before... and that people will admit, even to themselves.
On a totally surprising different note, my youngest son and his gf are here for the holidays and took me out/treated me to a movie today. We went to the "nice" theater with the individual recliners.. and saw the new Spiderman (animated) Multiverse movie. Oh. MY. It was actually really good, if you can enjoy a movie without feeling the need to dissect it afterward. Not sure why people have to do that. Just enjoy it for what it is and then let it go. LOL ... my dad was like that too, as far as ripping movies apart. My son has been REALLY into Spiderman since he was little and then also picked up the Avengers so whenever hes home he's taken me to the movies to see (some of) them. The rest I got to watch because he told me that he was going to be home for (this past) Mother's Day and his gift would be to treat me out to see Infinity War... so to be ready I had to watch ALL of the avenger movies so I'd understand what I was seeing. :O BUT... I did it!!!
Needless to say though, this totally ended better than that one. LOL shhhhhh though.. and Piglet is very cool. Hey, he gave Eeyore his scarf when he was cold. <3 Bless him!!

Well, Glenn is very blues/folk influenced. His solo stuff is typically really bluesy or folk/old country. Lots of acoustic and some steel guitar.
Yes, anxiety is definitely more common. For various reasons. But look at the stuff kids today deal with. I've watched shows showing schools today and it's nothing like when i was in school. They are out of control.
They say, on average, most people no longer breath deeply enough anymore as well. And deeper breathing helps with calmness. So with a country full of shallow breathers, it reduces the natural calming attributes. I could go on and on, but i'm sure you see all the BS anymore as well.
That's how anxiety works. I never think my anxiety is behind me, i view it as simply not being stirred up. Most people who develop anxiety never fully recover.
I didn't know such a thing was even out. Then again i've never been big on superheroes (pop culture blasphemy). I like it up to a point, but not enough to think much about it beyond seeing some of the movies. I think the movies are overkilled. But, that's my opinion, nothing more.

I think i saw an Avenger movie. A few years back. It was better than I expected. My then gf's son wanted to see it, and i think she did too, so we rented it.
Did you hear a few years back about a group making a fuss about one of the Avengers billboards? It showed the bad guy face to face with one of the female Avengers who was beaten up, maybe holding her to his face, i think. And a group started saying the billboard was encouraging domestic abuse... 0.o /shakes head

yeah, every avenger movie that he took me to was (MUCH!!!) better than I even knew to expect. I started really getting into them!
And no, I didn't hear the uproar about the billboard. wow. and yeah, the seats are actually electric recliners with the buttons... VERY comfy and posh!! lol I'd never been to a theater like that until he took me. and the floors aren't even sticky! :O shocking!!
