The church has been in tribulation since Jesus left. The beginning of sorrows is not tribuation.
The abomination of desolation occurs after the building of the temple. The end begins far before that. Again, the abomination is the clear marker of who the antichrist is and denotes a 3.5 week period remaining. However, when that occurs, the Christians will still be here, all of them, save for the few that God decides to pull out over old age or naivete (almost everyone here would be pulled out for naivete...)
