Imo 1 Enoch and Jasper are legit.

Xethea, are you doing formal research with all these poll questions? If so, what is the end goal?

IMHO?

These "polls", are "character studies", into the mental, and emotional "stability" of believers in general. As to pending legislation that would greatly restrict the sale to, and ownership of a guaranteed constitutional right to own and carry firearms. At least in the U.S. And, further down the road? The 1-world system! :p

Even some socialists out there, want people to give up there facebook password, to the state police, in New York! For the same reason!

the book of "Jasper?" C'mon OP!

Joshua 10:13

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

To answer the question however? APPARENTLY? The "powers that be" of that time, didn't deem them worthy for inclusion!

There could be some truth in both but both are a witness of men. The witness of God is greater.

Enoch and Jasher are both referenced in scripture...I have read both and have found the following....

a. No biblical contradictions

b. Some things no man could know without a higher influence

c. Numerous expounded ideas not in the bible and or barely touched on in the bible

The bigger questions.....Why were they left out of the cannon and WHO kept them from making the cannon....!!!

One reason "I" can think of, is due to the information contained especially in Enoch? Would be PRESERVATION of the Saints! There may be more! Even nefarious reasons, or reasonings.

Far as Jasher? Although, I think it gives a more splendid detailed account concerning the events the book covered? "A" reason may be given, that the records didn't quite "fill" the parameters set by the canonizers. Which may have been "Too much history." "Not enough God?" "Besides, those events recorded, are included already!"

Personally? I feel they should BOTH be included in today's Bibles!

Far as to the where they should be placed in the O.T.? Have to admit, I really dunno! :)

I recall reading book of Enoch some time ago, think read most of it but cannot remember. Was some time ago, I also recall reading some of Book of Yasher, especially reference to Noah and Sodom and Gomorrah and the other related cities.

What is interesting I found with Sodom is the amount of detail of the disgusting acts that the citizens of that time had done to people. The reference to cutting a person down to size to fit on a bed, or stretching out to fit is quite disgusting, and then you read about this woman covered in honey and making her a target for the bees to attack her, all for feeding a man. ANd another reference a woman thrown into the fire just for feeding a man.

Very bad, and in my opinion I think it was like that in Sodom and the other cities related. In order to completely wipe out cities, there must be a very good reason and boundaries being over stepped is one of them. It stands to reason, these places must of engaged in every kind of sick disgusting act imaginable but at same time the general population shows hatred to the person with compassion and kindness. The conduct of these people concerned must of reached a certain level, in order for the people who conducted such sick acts were to be considered a write off.

IMO just because its not of the canon does not mean its not considered scripture. in those days they had higher levels of learning, Enoch would have been of the next level. like when Jesus was asked about why he spoke to the crowds in parables.

It is almost impossible to search history so accurately that we can trace positively these books.

History tells us that excluding Enoch from scripture was done centuries after Christ. The reasons for many of their decisions at the church councils was not to search for truth but was to express anti-Jewism. That made many of their decisions suspect yet our churches today follow what was decided then.

I read the reports of these councils for hundreds of years, comparing them to scripture and many decisions were made by following wonderful politics but does not follow scripture.

If Enoch is true we have a picture of the world that God destroyed with the flood that follows scripture's picture but in a more complete way and answers many questions.

Not Jasper but Jasher. What we do know is that while these books are mentioned in the Bible, they are not included in it.

I personally enjoyed the book of Enoch....he spoke of things that modern science in our time has only rediscovered such as solar winds.....

there are like 30 plus books mentioned in the bible that are not part of the bible we have today. and these are just the ones mentioned by name, many more are quoted.

It is possible that the book of Enoch (or 1 Enoch) is pseudepigraphical, meaning that someone other than Enoch wrote that book.
