I have a question in light of the OP and the responses to it:

Before I continue, I have these assumptions:

-Scripture cannot and does not contradict itself
-Scripture must be read in context.
-Consider the speaker and the audience
-Only God truly knows our hearts and motives

Now then, how do we interpret Paul's words to the Corinthian church about being "carnal", or James' words about showing one's faith by works? In relation to the OP?

Not saying I agree with the OP necessarily, but I just want some clarification on the issue. Are we as Christians supposed to call out specific sins in our brothers' and sisters' lives, or their lifestyles in general? Both Paul and James, it seems were saying that if you call yourself a follower of Christ, you need to show it.

Calling out the specific sins of a brother in Christ is known as "rebuking." do you know what scripture says about rebuking?
