In John 5, He is speaking with a bunch of Jews wanting to kill Him. He healed a man and when that man was seen walking with his bed, they accused Jesus of violating the Sabbath. When He made Himself equal with His Father(because He is) that enraged them even more. Then we come to verses 39 & 40...
39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; 40 and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.
That which you quoted Jesus as saying, was actually a misquote on your part my friend. Jesus was telling these non-believers they think they have eternal life, but they actually do not. I have eternal life because I know, not think, what God did for me in Christ. I know, not think, I have eternal life because the gospel affirms I have it.
This is why you have so many scriptures that do not harmonize, because you fail to rightly divide the salvation (deliverance) scriptures. After we are born again, we all do still give in to the temptations of this world. When we are pricked in our hearts of that sin, we repent. Upon repenting and God's forgiveness, we receive a deliverance (salvation) from the results of that sin. When we pray for healing of an affliction and God heals us, we have just been saved (delivered) of that affliction. If you apply all of the salvation scriptures to eternal, you will never be able to harmonize the scriptures. Once you understand this truth, it gives you much more security in your eternal salvation and erases all doubt of going to hell.

My friend, that does not mean we are saved, delivered, every time we sin. You are making it so that every time we sin, we become lost again. That is a false teaching my friend.
Not before but the result of Christ's work of faith working in us to both will and perform his good pleasure. Known from before the foundation of the world, exercised by a labor of His love as it is written.
Before he worked in us giving us His understanding we had no faith .Not little none.
FGC and the PB's have it fixed in such a way that the elect don't have to have any faith. Think about it, if this were true then Universalism is true. According to their teaching, who are we to say someone isn't converted, they don't even have to believe in Christ, the Gospel, nothing. Believe in the afterlife and *BAM* you're in! (better yet, who are they to say that others are converted due to their claims that go against Scripture?)
We are justified by faith, that is a truth of the Gospel for certain. There are no other classes of the converted. But FGC doesn't deal with context, all passages are divorced from context.
Again, there is only one eternal salvation, my friend.
We do not need saving over and over and over again.
Look at David. He had intercourse with Bathsheba. God sends Nathan, David repents. David was not delivered/saved again. Repentance from David showed his already happened conversion.
I read about a PB funeral once where a guy had attended church for 30+ years but never gave a testimony of being saved. At his funeral, a hardshell minister popishly proclaimed him saved by saying, “He wasn’t in the kingdom yet”, or something similar to that.
Yes, the gospel affirms that you are saved eternally, But the gospel, in its self, does not save us eternally.
Oh, so he didn't receive his time salvation. It's all optional anyhow, no biggie. If only the martyrs and apostles who were beaten and killed for preaching the Gospel knew how trivial it all was.

Apostle Paul said this...
24 Five times I received from the Jews thirty-nine lashes. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent in the deep. 26 I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my countrymen, dangers from the Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers on the sea, dangers among false brethren; 27 I have been in labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. 28 Apart from such external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all the churches. 29 Who is weak without my being weak? Who is led into sin without my intense concern?(2 Cor. 11)
And he also wrote...
3 Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. 5 Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules. 6 The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops. 7 Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.
8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel, 9 [c]for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned. 10 For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory.(2 Tim. 2)
Apostle Paul suffered from many things, from the hands of many people, to spread the gospel you so flippantly mock.
1 Pet 3:21, The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save (is this saving eternal) us. Rev 2:5, talking to the church at Ephesus; Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works, or else I will come unto thee quickly, and remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. Is this referring to eternal life?
The visible church that Jesus set up goes by many different names in the scriptures. The Kingdom Of God, being one of them. The guy you are referring to probably had shown evidence of been born again, but had never joined the church by being baptized.
So, why do you think the phrase "YET DEAD IN SINS" is mentioned in regeneration (Eph 2:5)?
