Ok, i see now why you thought i was talking to you directly, my bad. His comment about the forums in general is a topic of interest to me. I use to think when i read some threads, whoa, how come so much of this ugly mean-spirited stuff. I think differently now, not that I agree with it but not allowing ppl to engage with some freedom, some leeway, takes some of the safety away. Does that make sense? My timing for discussing it with Him could have been better, because it seemed I was pointing at you, directly, not the forum in general...sorry about that preacher. I wanted to step up and speak on it because I have put a lot of thought in it, lately.

Do you believe we can't be used by Him online? I do agree that we need to get out face to face as well. I need the leadership of the church I attend and I think we need to serve others, all for His Glory. I do not think you were being ugly or cruel in your response at all. It just has me pondering, to be honest. I suppose because I like to believe we can serve Him online too.

What is the order of the Two Great Commandments?
During the past 15 years my sharing of God's truths travels all over the World. But in the past I have had many wonderful times being God's ambassador in public in various situations including churches and even to customer service agents via the phone. It was in Germany that my Internet ministries began. I spent 8 years there. And between October 2012 and August 2016 I did 6 trips to Nigeria (I paid from my savings for the airplane tickets and lived in Mubi and Lagos for 9 months). I was very spoiled in the just mentioned time in Nigeria because of their culture in giving respect for the elderly; no loose wild animals or the bads that are happening in USA families, city traffic, and bad sins. I helped many Nigerians to think better about their culture characteristics and expectations.
We need to avoid making wrong assumptions. It is better to respond with a question for further information or starting a private conversation to obey Matthew 18:15. Why don't we just get back to sharing about the different forms that happens? Many have responded to my e-mails by saying they needed the message right then. So what are the good experiences you have had when using the Internet for spiritual ministering, even in Facebook. The majority of the Internet is not good, but we can make a difference in sharing God's wonderful truths. People make horrible decisions like in voting because of lack of such knowledge. Have you warned people even about wrong politicians with Biblical reasons?

How do we know Jesus was moved with compassion? That he was troubled in the garden? Angry in the temple? They saw it.
They could touch him, he touched them,.
Remember the leper that Jesus touched and healed? Jesus was probably the first person to touch him in yrs. Can you imagine, yrs.

Slander is a very specific thing which doesn't occur on this forum.
1. Slander is a type of defamation which takes the form of verbal speech, and everything in this forum takes the form of written speech... so as a starting point, we'd be talking about libel and not slander.
2. Libel has to CAUSE actual damage to someone's reputation, and that damage must be measurable and verifiable.
3. Libel must occur with the express INTENTION of damaging someone's reputation, and that intention must be verifiable.
4. I don't know HOW you could possibly damage someone's reputation in a forum where everyone has an anonymous pseudonym... this would be a real stretch.
5. As far as I know, defamatory libel, in the U.S., is a civil rather than a criminal matter, so people are sued for monetary damages rather than receiving a jail sentence. So basically no, you don't go to jail for libel.
(There may be some weird exceptions going back to older or seldom used laws. So please consult an attorney in your state of residence before attempting to jail your brothers and sisters.)

What you are missing totally here, is that the internet reaches people no one else reaches. I run an on-line bipolar forum as a ministry. there are a number of Christians in the group. But, because of various reasons (excuses?) they do not go to church. Depression, anxiety, self-care, lack of transportation, the stigma of mental illness, coupled with physical illnesses, mean these people do not attend church. I have desperately encouraged them that they will find a good church better than the internet, but none of them seems capable of pushing themselves out the door on Sunday morning, let alone any other times. They do not talk to their neighbours, and are terrified of striking up a conversation with anyone.
For those people, the internet is a life line! The other day, one Christian woman was complaining about how alone she was. Another Christian lady told her she needed to go to church and make friends, although she could not make it herself. The first woman at least has some virtual shoulders to cry on, to say nothing of my preaching in pms! (I don't preach in the main forum, which has atheists and people of other faiths, although I do mention often what God has done for me in my personal posts!)
Yet, you would deny these people the only contact they sometimes have with other human beings? You would claim that a hug gif, is not good enough, when it makes their day?
I also have physically disabled friends, and the issues are similar. Regardless of the reasons, some people in our society are not able to go to church. It is sad, in many ways. But what a blessing God has opened up the internet door for people to connect and be helped online. I have one man in my group who was totally isolated and alone, except for occasionally talking to his mom, and his therapist. He was in the group for over 2 years without posting. I had to check sometimes to make sure he was still in the group. Then one day, hurting badly, he took a chance and posted about his cutting. The group was non-judgmental. He was so happy to finally have shared his worst issue, and that he was still accepted. His therapist, he said, was delighted he was getting support. Then a while later, he went to the grocery store and bought ingredients and made a virtual meal for the group. He had been a chef before becoming mentally ill, and he was so joyful that he was finally cooking again.
Of course, this is where your point, Potter's Clay, is true! It was nice looking at the pictures of his meal, but no, we couldn't actually eat it. We will have to leave that for real life! But, Michael is actually beginning to recover, which he would not have, without the group. I am 100% behind the need in our postmodern and disaffected society to use the internet for outreach and encouragement, but also for teaching. I hope your heart can understand that for some people, the internet is all they have!

As much as she can she goes to the front lines, where God calls he enables.
First let's begin with motive (sense I seem to have struck a cord here) in my post I used the term comfort zone.
Also I asked "what stops you" from going out. A step of faith is required on the giver and receiver wouldn't you agree?
I believe Jesus examples that. I do understand that people are in isolation and yes my heart goes out to them.
Praise God for your outreach and it's affects.
My position stands as I have never seen in God's word one Shepard sheep from a distance. Can you argue that and open my eyes?
In my spirit I can not condone the use of the internet for a ministry of God totally. Let me explain a little of why.
The explanation I am about to give is not directed towards anyone personally nor is it to criticize any good work God's done.
I haven't completed the study but as the Lord leads I will post it in it's entirity.
Most Christian's today rely on the air waves "if you will" to find answers to God's truth and understanding but the word of God instructs us to pray, fast, ask, and meditate. Causing a lack in ones spiritual growth in his deciple ship.
Many opinions false teachings and out right heresies our found throughout the internet all thought to be the truth to some causing discord among the brothers. Bringing churches to war with each other. The falling away has begun as close to 60 churches a day close there doors for good.
Jesus sent the holy spirit as our helper but it seems we have a hard time downloading his program. Becoming more dependant on instant gratification of information.
Let me stop there and show you something.
Paul made a statement saying.......we are aware of Satan's devices.........why did he use the term devices? Could that be a hint?
He also talked about principalities of the air.......wonder what that's all about???
The church is becoming ineffective and we blame it on a secular minded world ignorant in it's ways.
Or has the church become ineffective because we thought of a better way?

Joni Eareksen Tada was an outgoing extrovert, athletic and had lots of friends. Her family was not dysfunctional.
Her illness knocked her flat in more ways than just physically. She spent a lot of time depressed. But she had the support and love of friends and family, and although she suffered from injury related depression, she was not mentally ill. In fact, as her story shows, she was incredibly resilient and flexible.
The people I help come from abusive, dsyfunctional, non-functional backgrounds. They have been beaten, raped, bullied, and damaged. They are the definition of disturbed, miserable, lonely people who have no support now, and some, never!
One of the members of my group confessed she has not showered in weeks, not left the house, put on makeup or gotten dressed in weeks. Thanksgiving pushed her into suicidal ideation. The other members of the group talked her back, and she did make it to her family's dinner, although between all the Ativan she took to get out of the door, and the Benedryl she took for her allergies, sat paralyzed on the couch, not speaking the entire time.
This woman is a Christian, but far from God. My group gave her the only support she trusts. She may not trust Christians much, since her ex-husband, who committed adultery on her numerous times, as well as frequently beating her, was a pastor in a Bible believing church. Although she trusts me.
I'm not talking about a normal person, seduced by the world. Please, by all means, deal with those types. I'm talking about people who are barely functioning, damaged people! And God is using a new way to reach them, and give them support and love, in the small doses they can take. You may never meet these types, if you don't look for them. Or more, if God never leads you to them.
You can do what you want as far as ministry. But don't deny God is big enough to use means to reach the most, which were not available when Jesus walked the shores of Galilee.
I believe God is in control. He has allowed technology, the internet may be THE way God chooses to reach the world. Just be aware of this, before you close yourself off to what God is doing in the world.

I was lied about with wrong exaggerations and false assumptions. My reputation in this discussion was trashed. The accusers were not being Christ-like. I am 71-years-old and I have a lot of understandings about the many kinds of people, especially those I have attended with in church. I am not an idiot. I am living for what ever God wants me to say and do. I started this discussion to find out about others' ministry successes using the Internet. Is that such a sin. I have had many ministry successes using the Internet. In LinkedIn.com, almost 20,000 people have sent me friendship requests because of my spiritual postings. I was told that some of my e-mails were forwarded to 74,ooo people. To God be the glory for Holy Spirit guidance. I will take credit for my mistakes. But I didn't make the mistakes that I have been accused of. And those in this discussion might try the logical indenting of Scripture I call ETRSFing (Easy To Read Scripture Format). I have learned every time I do it. I also have learned from doing similar for other spiritual and secular documents. It is free to learn from the 2 websites in my signature. Try it you may like it. All free to do, but it is best to be guided by the Holy Spirit instead of one's guesses.

My posts above regarding slander weren't meant to disparage you or your ministry.
My first post was dealing with the legal issues of slander, and my second post was just silliness.
Because you brought up words like "slander", "illegal", and "jail", I just wanted to deal with the legal side of slander before the whole thread deteriorated into complaints about how unfairly everyone is treated, or worries about jail sentences. Here in America we have quite a lot of free speech, and slander is generally only seen it's in civil version... although it isn't the same in the countries of many CC members. There are countries where the police come to your door if they don't like what you've said on the internet... and they don't show up because a Christian has been offended.
Anyway, I think that if you're reaching people for Christ on the internet, that's fantastic.
We should reach people wherever we can, and however we can.
We should all do whatever we can do.

Obviously bill , Angela you saints have already rolled up your sleeves and by having a team which you over see is quite a different picture than what I knew. I apologise truly for any misunderstanding I have caused.
For anyone who would want to use the net instead of going out as you were called,...............no........wrong........copout.

Has anyone here ever noticed how TV ministries, not unlike online, have preachers who are quick t collect money first, second to point out the sins of individuals with no mercy simply judgement , and criticize all who may not agree with them.

All who agree with you would censor TV and Radio ministries too…..in truth, you are doing exactly what you have said others are doing, bashing the church......…tsk tsk, when edification does not appeal to some, nor admonishments, those "some" are to be treated as non-beliviers.
This being a forum to you and not a meeting place I would ordinarily not say such, but you have opened that door by verbally condemning so many over and over again.
That post was not addressed to you, but to 3 (especially 1) others who wrote posts against me because of what I mentioned in other discussions. If they would live the just the Golden Rule, they would not have done such against me. I just started this discussion mainly to learn from others about their successes in ministering via the Internet. Being a former Christian school teacher and facilitator in Bible study discussion groups, I prefer to see facial expressions in response to statements made. We cannot see facial expressions when posting here, posting other websites, and doing e-mailing.
