That's not dumb he's trying to be Godly i assume? If he needs to get himself together before he gets involved in relationships he's wise and you should be happy he didn't want to drag you into his mess. Don't get so upset cx plus he could figure things out and come back or something you never know...

I really don't understand what all is happening. He is struggling with agnosticism and certain addictions. He won't be coming back I don't think. It seems like he has mostly given up and said he isn't going to have any future relationships. He has already stated basically that he would be glad if another one of my guy friends would take me.

For one, you don't need to be yoked to an unbeliever. Two, be glad he isn't saddling you with his addictions.. If he's given up, only God can help him, and even then ONLY if he WANTS God's help..
