Hey Everyone,
I'm sure everyone knows the holiday song, "It's the most wonderful time of the year," but for many, it is also the loneliest time of the year.
I know that one of the things I've struggled with in the past is not having anyone to talk to on major days of the year when it's supposedly all about being surrounded by family and friends.
Maybe we can keep each other company today and throughout the holiday week. Although I am writing this thread with singles and/or people who are alone today in mind, anyone and everyone is welcome to participate.
1. If you are single and/or alone on the holidays, what do the holidays mean to you? (You can also post if you're not single or alone... Maybe you could tell us what you or your family have done to help others who are alone during the holidays?)
* I know that for me, a holiday usually means either an extra day of work or an extra day of sleep, which can definitely be a blessing!
2. What do you plan to cook or eat today? Do you make or get yourself something special, or will it be like most any other day?
* I just got myself a frozen Tostino's pizza--milk chocolate covered cherries--so please don't judge. (For me, this is definitely a treat!)
3. What are your plans for the rest of the day? Will you be watching any favorite shows, and if so, which ones?
* I'm planning on watching a lot of YouTube about Frances Glessner Lee, the first lady of forensic science , and a very cool-looking channel I just found about breeding reptiles and some of the various genetic combinations.
Therefore, I plan to fill my Thanksgiving with pizza, chocolate, investigating homicides, and snakes--which is a pretty good glimpse into how my brain works when it's given free time.
How about the rest of you? Whether you'd like to stop in and tell us about the big game you're planning on watching (complete with periodic updates and scores), or if you'd just like to have some fellowship with others on Thanksgiving, any post is welcome.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
