Of course something occurred on that date, but I do not know exactly what. You see important events occur every day.

Another item that may be overlooked is the scripture telling us to count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.
What does counting the number of the man mean, if not a date in which he appears?

Revelation 13:16-18 - Here is wisdom Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is 666....

Nero Caesar

the Churches John was writing to would refer to the book of Daniel to "decipher" John use of symbolism, Daniel 7 prophecy tells us who that man will be.

The prophecies of what the Beast will do have not been fulfilled as yet, nor the events which surround him, his prophet, the two witnesses etc.

How does one equate Nero with 666 except perhaps by some off-the-wa-- teaching havingnothing to do with the Word? Please explain this.

When it is considered, Jesus of the Tribe of Judah, we realize the Priesthood has changed after that of our Lord Who is our eternal High Priest. He makes us also a priesthood after the order of Melchizedech with no beginning and no end.

Our High Priest is of Judah….. I do not believe there were Levites in Israel as priests, it seems theyi too were of Judah. Please inform me of what is known.

Well JaumeJ, history tells us the makeup of Judah during Christ's day would amount to mostly Judah. Also all the tribe of Simeon was assimilated into Judah, no doubt to the curse on him and Levi. Some of the tribe of Benjamin didn't get carried away by the Assyrians because they bordered Judah and were assimilated.

Pertaining to the Levites, all the Levites ministering in the Southern Kingdom of Judah were still there. Still many more ministering in the North were carried away. So Judah, in Christ's day was all of Judah and Simeon; plus part of Levi and Benjamin.

Levites were the priestly class to whatever tribe.
A Levite is a Jewish male descended patrilineally from the Tribe of Levi. The Tribe of Levi descended from Levi, the third son of Jacob and Leah

Deuteronomy 18:1–2 says that the Levites had a very special inheritance from God: “The Levitical priests—indeed, the whole tribe of Levi—are to have no allotment or inheritance with Israel. They shall live on the food offerings presented to the Lord, for that is their inheritance. They shall have no inheritance among their fellow Israelites; the Lord is their inheritance, as he promised them.” The other tribes of Israel received a land inheritance in Canaan, but the Levites received no land. Instead, the Levites were given certain cities within the other tribes’ territories.

I think that while everyone is busy associating names and numbers, the pieces will be falling into place all around them. Perhaps when the time comes it will be obvious. Until then it is pointless. Many things including worldwide catastrophe will happen before he/it/them take the stage. Focus on today.

I think that the Lord gave us this scripture about the number of the beast, because someone is meant to figure it out in order to provide warning.
And while I agree to a certain degree that it will be obvious to some what the number of the beast will be when it comes; it will still not be so obvious to many billions of people who will readily accept the beasts number.

Daniel points to a future ...that for us is PAST.....
Josephus leaves no doubt about the events of that period and he was there as eye witness. He speaks of earthquakes that killed hundreds, the results of WAR are starvation, disease and destruction of rivers, etc. ( Josephus 'Antiquities' book 12 for history.)

John's Revelation was to 7 churches in Asia. John pastored at Ephesus before and after his exile to Patmos. John wrote Revelation while IN Patmost, but had to have been released by 66AD on the death of Nero Caesar as it was the custom of the time to release prisoners on the death of a caesar. SO...Revelation was written before 70AD. John actually refers to the temple still standing when he wrote this letter.

Do not add or take away from this Book... Was that literal to the Book of Revelation or "THE BOOK, THE BIBLE"... all 66 Books as ONE....
Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Deu 4:1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
Deu 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

It means to not take away from the words, or add on to the words, of the book of Revelation.

But it can apply to all of God's words that we do not add, and we do not take away, for then it is diminishing truth.

All the denominations that do not abide in the truth take away, and add, to the word of God, and people that have a belief that is not part of the Bible and drag it in to the Bible, and interpret the Bible that way is taking away, and adding to the word of God, which is the more serious flawed groups like the new age movement, Scientology, Christian Science, and Mormon, for they all look at the Bible from the standpoint of nature, and takes away from the ultimate authority of God in their life.

Jehovah's witnesses deny the divinity of Jesus, and the Catholic Church interprets the Bible according to paganism, for they did not get rid of their pagan ways, and it became their foundation for the interpreting of scriptures.

And many that have little differences among themselves, but they accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, God manifest in the flesh, and there is only one God, and do not look at the Bible in any natural sense when accepting God, and His kingdom.

Rev 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
Rev 1:2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

God has to end this sin business on earth one day, for He cannot allow mankind to keep sinning on earth forever, and has allotted mankind a certain period of time to have their way, and cause all people that do not love Him to follow the beast kingdom, and then He will end this sin business on earth.

That means Satan will be able to work among the wicked like he has not been able to do in the past, which the Bible warns us that at the latter times the new age movement will come about and have an interpretation of the Bible based on the occult, and evolution, which they will give heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils, and it will pave the way to the beast kingdom.

So Satan is already working like he could not do in the past, but he is still on a leash, but when he claims to be God he will be off his leash, and deceive all people that do not love God to follow him saying he harnessed the power of nature, God of forces, and obtained power, evolved, and will share this power with all people who follow him, and they can become an ascended master, and avatar, and spiritual like the man Jesus, but they do not view Jesus as Lord and Savior, but evolved through the power of nature.

When the beast claims to be God all people that do not believe the truth, but have pleasure in unrighteousness, shall be deceived by a devil, which is the strong delusion that God will send those that do not love the truth, and they will follow the beast kingdom.

The book of Revelation is a revealing of Jesus Christ to the world that He is God, and it is about His kingdom, and His ways, and He is the only Ruler, and not anything that man puts forth as a kingdom that they think is the best operation of the world, which the beast will say he can provide peace, and stop crime on earth, and they can be spiritual, and never die, and a warning to the world to get right with God to escape what shall go down with the world in the future, for they will promise Peace and safety, but sudden destruction will come upon them, and they shall not escape, for it will fall apart, and fighting with all the people that oppose them, and the beast trying to deceive people from spiritual salvation, and those he cannot he will destroy physically.

God said multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision, for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision, for will they stay with God, get with God, or follow the world, believing that the new age movement is the truth, and that is the prosperity for the world, and the spirituality through the power of nature.

When they say Peace and safety when the nations come together and try to establish peace on earth Paul said the saints in the truth will not be deceived by that for they will know it is not of God.

Jesus said He will deliver the saints in the truth from the temptation that shall come upon all the world to try them that dwell on the earth, but everybody else will be tempted concerning the world saying they can achieve peace on earth, but they do not accept the Gospel.

Some people say that the beast kingdom in Revelation was in the past, but it is not true, for Jesus has not been revealed to the world to where they know about Him by seeing Him, and God said He is going to gather all nations together against Jerusalem to battle, and then go forth and fight those nations, and all the saints will be with Him when He comes back to fight the world, and the LORD shall be King over all the earth, and in that day there shall be one LORD, and His name one, and the beast has power over all nations, kindreds, and tongues, the whole world.

God has to end this sin business on earth one day, and Revelation is a warning to the world to get right with God to escape the wrath to come on all those who do not love the truth, and deny Jesus as Lord and Savior, and do not believe in a personal God, but honor the God of forces, or the power of nature as their higher power.

The wrath came and went in the 1st century AD mattwallottext.

Read what John says:

Rev 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

After John declares he saw the new "heaven and earth" he says there are still dogs etc.

And this agrees with the new "heaven and earth" of Isaiah.

You need to adjust your "theology".

This question about adding or taking away from the Word of God has already been resolved, however it is written in Revalation and it is in the law never to add or take away from the Word of God.

Think, just for a moment. How does the creature add ar take away from the Word of the Creator? It is a ridiculous notion even to entertain…….

Chapters 2 and 3 in Revelation were directed to the 7 churches in Asia to overcome their carnal inclinations, and so are also meant for all throughout the current age to likewise overcome.
Revelation 4 through 22, however, regard events after 95 AD when John received the Revelation.

Revelation 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

We Christians are all guilty of majoring in the minor. My point is that every effort to name the Antichrist, has been fruitless. If anything this “Boy who cried wolf” game we play will inoculate the masses rather than warn them. The message is clear, much destruction and death will proceed the false prophet. The beast could be a man, or political group, or even something else. We do know that love and caring for the lost and broken hearted will turn many to Christ now...before the death toll rises. I love a good mystery too but solving the who’s who in endtime prophecy seems like a waste of valuable time.
