First off, as a white person I harbor ZERO guilt over slavery. I abhor the concept of "white privilege", and do not feel pity for anybody because of their skin color. I love ALL people but have gotten into heated arguments with those who degrade or attack black people, (almost came to blows yrs ago at a club) and with black people that harbor hatred towards whites.(almost came to blows on the gridiron).
We are ALL one race. The HUMAN race. We have different ethnic backgrounds, but are all "one Blood". The idea of different "races" is directly out of evolutionary writings and thought. You want to be associated with them?
GOD DID NOT INSTITUTE SLAVERY! Humans instituted slavery. God permitted slavery. But this was not His doing or desire.
Another example of God permitting something He was against is the Kingship of Israel. They moaned and complained that they wanted a King like all the other heathen Nations around them. GOD is their King, but because they refused to fully recognize Him as such He said "Fine!! You want a King? You GOT a King! But these are all the things YOUR King is gonna do to you".
Here are some of the "rules" God put forth when humans instituted slavery.
Laws About Slaves
21 “Now these are the rules that you shall set before them. 2 When you buy a Hebrew slave,[
a] he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free, for nothing.
Foreigners could become Jews, and members of God's people, by enacting certain ordinances such as circumcision. So even the foreign slaves that God allowed, would be freed. Also, this whole issue of slavery, and how one is removed from it, is a modeling of how we are freed from being slaves to sin.
We are brothers and sisters in Christ. That you keep defending enslaving your brother and sister, is disturbing.
Acts 17:26 King James Version (KJV)
26 And hath made of
ONE BLOOD all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
