Thats what it traditionally means yes but seen as ficitional creatures they can be interpreted as anyway the author of said book or comic wants. Words and names in anime and comics dont always apply to the traditional meaning

For example many anime portray vampires in a different way then traditionally done although do keep some basic things while adding more or erasing some all together. I use vampires too although they are not Satanic in my books or undead. Basically fictional creatures you can do whatever you want with.

But globally that is the common meaning.... ghouls, possessed, evil spirits, it’s all in the same catagory of demonic play.

The anime pictures give away just as much as the names or words itself.

I would disagree but I understand where your coming from....I've always disagreed with the "It looks scary so its evil" reasoning behind a lot Christians views. Let there actions speak not there looks.

But the still, the meaning of a vampire is a demon possessed thing..., no matter how you change it or modify it to suit your liking, the term Vampire is still associated with darkness and evil.

Not talking about how it looks. I just gave you the definition of what ghoul and possessed mean and you’re trying to tell me what you believe is different lol
