I wish there was a registry that you could go to and check your vote like a day after you vote........or maybe after the election.....wonder how many of them get "changed"
did just that in the R runoff in my state, because i voted in the D primary and my wife voted in the R. she went to vote in the runoff and they wouldn't let her, saying she had voted in D. turns out they ((the R representative at the voting place)) had challenged both of our votes, withdrawing mine altogether and putting her down as having voted on the D ticket with no record of a vote.
we only found out because there was a runoff and she wasn't allowed to vote. the R party official wouldn't even let her cast a provisional ballot until she made a scene and demanded a call to the state office be made. it was, and she cast a provisional ballot.
so we went to a vote challenging hearing held the next day for the district to represent her case for her provisional ballot. we were the only people who showed up. the commission was really pleased just to see someone show up, listened, looked at the evidence and unanimously overturned our challenged votes, adding mine to the D primary and allowing both hers ((they did have the original paperwork and rolls we signed))
we got a letter in the mail informing us of the challenged votes and inviting us to represent our case -- 2 days after the hearing was actually held. yes, we were informed but too late to do anything about it.
and this was R party official, not D. doing the very things that they campaign on by saying vote for us, D does those things.
but the state office itself - who upheld ((after phone call)) my wife's right to cast a ballot, and who actually the meeting - at least at that local level, were honorable.
*shrug* just my actual personal experience.
I wrote in my name for president. It was the second election I was able to participate in. I was precluded from voting in the primaries because at 18 I'd registered as Independent. The third presidential election rolled around four years later and there were no pens available for write in votes.
True story.
I wouldn't credit Ricky so highly. (having good intentions). He doesn't read peoples posts clearly as we can see . His example of intention is to sound just like the Democrat party line that slams anything and anyone Republican.
He has no idea about the process. He just hates Republican's because the Blue told him to.

Actually, if we don't vote it insures the Democrats have a chance at taking majority in the House and Senate. Our country can't afford that. I don't mean to speak for Ricky, but I think he meant exactly that... "money having men". If someone puts in 40 hours a week and still doesn't have a living wage, I would say someone in the higher up is owned by the money. Why else is the person not able to afford the essentials life demands?
The real question is, where is the line of what is fair for a person's time/work? What is considered fair? I suppose the short answer to that is "a living wage", but even that is difficult to define, especially when we consider the region one lives in.
YES! Waste your vote! Insure all the old guard Dem's get in, just like Ricky wants because Ricky knows nothing about the electoral process.

I'm not sure voting for the candidate Ricky thinks is best is equivalent to "wasting" his vote. I mean, that is the whole point of voting isn't it?

It’s a bit strange that so many people saying they’ll vote Republican, feel the urge to add that they’re voting for a lesser evil.
They are admitting that both parties are evil, but one of them, in their opinion, is less evil.
Is it possible to be “less” evil. Isn’t it like saying a little pregnant?
Without the atonement of Jesus Christ, one sin is enough to disqualify us from returning to God's kingdom. In essence, man uses words like "less evil" and "more evil" to justify their actions, when in reality, there is never justification to choose evil.
