The idea of assemblies as was set out by the apostles is not what we have today and it wasn't meant for today. The apostles were mandated to spread the gospel to all nations and tribes before the end times come and assemblies in different nations and tribes would help them achieve that. When that mandate was achieved, then all those things should have ceased- a continuation of these things in the end times is misleading and satan has found an avenue to spread false gospel through the shepherds of these so called churches.

So are you saying you do not believe Christians should assemble together or have any kind of 'church community'? I am curious what your eschatology is. Do you believe Jesus already came back or that the resurrection already occured?

Isn't it fitting, that all the folks I ever meet who are disconnect from a local congregation are way off and way out in their doctrine.

And there is exactly zero Scripture for that.

I just love (sarcasm) all these arm chair theologians who don't attend church with all their false doctrines and hypotheses.

There are a lot of folk on this site who do not attend a local church, yet have all the answers.

Any person who loathes the bride hates the Bridegroom. They are in for an eternal rude awakening.

IMO there is a difference between church and assembly. church is for praise and worship, anyting to honer the Most High. assambly should be anytime you get together with another believer to teach and discuss ideas. Jesus and the 12 went to temple for praise, readings and worship, but most all of the teachings of Jesus were wherever He happened to be at the moment.

In the time of the apostles they would have called it synagogue.
The church was first brought to light in the 16th century by Catholics and king james.
Jesus called his gathering Eclesia.
The church is a building we are a temple.
The Catholics built the greatest empire in the world. Killing those who disagreed. And stealing untold billions of dollars from those who wanted to know god.
Then there are the multitude of denominations with no fellowship with each other.
Inside. Of each group there is the hierarchy.
Fellowship amongst saints happen at the grass roots level. I e boots on the ground.
To summarize church is not of God, for he wanted a relationship with us and each other.
That is surely lacking in most church.
Hope your happy I'm back

Ekklesia means , a group of called out ones who belong to the Lord ..

A study of the New Testament explains how the congregation can both identify and set apart it's leaders for service.

I think a study of the New Testament gives pretty clear principles for all basic functions within the assembly.

...
Yeah..........but, that's too easy, AND it don't get in a "slam" against Preachers/Pastors today, right?

Okay
The point of all this.
The church has created a mess, in the USA, now you may be in sound church but of the multitude of church doctrine, which do you subscribe to.
I have been in many a church, and the doctrine differs in all.
A man or a woman comes into a church, is he welcomed yes, is he or she loved, only if the person agrees with that doctrine.
Exactly what is sound doctrine. On any given day it is what the pastor percieves to be true.
Are there still miracles, some doctrine say yes, some say no..
The church has become confusing, to even the learned amongst us. Confusion is the work of satan.
When I speak to people about Jesus, I have found most are interested but they hate church.
Side note
Jesus is always with me.

If they hate church, then they hate believers, cause the believers are church.......actually, they are assembly (if some want to be legalistic about it)

Here's an idea, why not try to find something positive to post about the church/the Faith?

Hmm.............that might actually be edifying...........and, ain't THAT what we is supposed ta be doing?

:)

NO, the church has not created a mess, people like you who want to justify their refusal to assemble have created the mess.
I am amazed at the people who never assemble, condemn those who do, and yet want me to believe they are a Christians and know my Lord.

You got it backwards. The USA ( some not all ) has created a mess in the church.

There is no difference whatsoever. The (local) church is the local body of believers who can assemble for worship or for study or prayer or any other reason. It is however essential that each one is a child of God.

Your correct jaybird88 ,

Ekklesia , Ek means called out , klesia is a people who belong to the Lord . Ekklesia is a called out group of people who belong to the Lord , Specifically the Spiritual body of Christ . The assembly is a Spiritual reference being the body of Christ .

As a side note , could that include a gathering of said people in a building , that's certainly possible .
