With that being answered, does a person need to be baptized and attend church to be Christian? This is something that I've asked several times in my life, but have never been given a straight answer. I'd love if someone here could clarify this. I live in a small town and I find that our churches are very cliquey - and almost like a club you have to join.
You will probably be getting different answers to that one..

To be a Christian a person must
1) Believe Jesus ... believe his teachings.
2) Trust that the death and resurrection of Jesus pays the penalty for their sins ( transgressions against the will of God) and obtains for them eternal life with God in his perfect eternal existence..

The payment Jesus made to pay our fine is called... The Atonement

Christians should at times gather with other Christians for fellowship.. Many Christians believe that this is done by attending church, But any gathering with Christians is fine.. You are now gathered here on CC with Christians.. So for me going online to fellowship with other Christians on CC and other Christian forums is fulfilling the call to gather with Christians..

You know, honestly - I just remembered. In my basement, somewhere in a box, there is a Ouija board. I was in a bunch of board games we bought from a yard sale, and I was meaning to toss it when we moved in, but just left it in a box in the basement. Do you think that could have something to do with this? I was going to toss it, burn it, something - but I was told to never do that, as it will anger some kind of bad spirit. I can't believe this just ocurred to me now....
That will do it... People using these boards can and sometimes do bring demons into their homes.. The demons can be with the board..

I would burn it in the name of the Jesus... But maybe in your case the best thing would be to send it to the dump.. I am not an expert in this but since you are not yet a believer in Jesus it may not be the best thing for you to burn it in the name of Jesus when you are not yet a firm follower of Jesus...

As a Christian i would have no worries burning an Ouija board... I would do it with joy... But for a non believer i am not so sure that would be the best way to deal with it..

Its not metal, its punk =P
And, yeah, it's crazy but a lot of fun. And a very ministry oriented band as well.

I'm reminded of the story of the sons of Sceva that tried to cast out an evil spirit in the "name of the God that Paul preaches about". It didn't end well for them. We have zero authority outside of Christ and if we try to go up against those things in the natural, we will lose every time.

The bible tells us that we ARE able to cast out demons in the name of Jesus Christ.. But we need to be strong and fearless and not waver..

Good point.. I was thinking of that but could not remember where it was or who it was in the Bible.. I found it now :) thanks..

Acts 19: KJV
13 "¶ Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. {14} And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. {15} And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? {16} And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded."

That's why I'm uncomfortable - because it doesn't fit in with the Bible.
Of course it does, it falls under the category of demonic activity. It has also appeared they have successfully deceived you into thinking they are "ghosts"

There are no such things, it is all in the mind. I mean, all reality is in the mind and the strength of the mind is such that you might actualize these things even though they aren't there. Spirits don't stay disembodied here on earth- we see this when Jesus casts out the legion out of a man and they begged Jesus to at least allow them to indwell the swines that were nearby.
