So is anonymity here super important to y'all? I notice there is little to nothing about ppl here. Is that the beauty of it? Is it kinda a place without any differentiating qualities outside of the way we articulate and what we articulate? Do you ever wish you knew more about the ppl behind the images. I am noticing most of the pics chosen are not even of themselves. Is it to avoid the attempts of this platform's potential to be used as a dating site, lol?

I'll be honest, on the chat room and here, I wish we could know more about people, not so we could determine if he or she is a he or she, or to know if the individual might be eligible but just because I am intrigued by the different individual characters here. I mean, I find myself reading different post determining with styles and context clues, more interesting specific details of a person. Like clearly, my post here shows I am an inquisitive bee, but I never want to be an intrusive one. I was just wondering if my other cc companions here think on this matter.

Before you answer, if you choose to at all, can we establish the fact that my question is not designed to demonstrate my need to disrespect your privacy or your choice for it, k?

This is just me trying to connect with you mysterious fonters, hidden ever so elusively, behind these threads, lol.

I just assume everyone here is a bot with advanced interactive personality programming. Sort of like The Sims.

Hmmm... I guess some people preferred not to reveal themselves here and I respect that... There are at least 2 people here who saw me in person and the other two through videocalls 😊

But I am observing each post here too... some are kind, straightforward, playful, sweet, loving, sensitive and funny that way i can collect even just a little bit of information about the person's personality. But I was told some people are faking it 😁 yeah i met some... but so far there are not many of them 😊 I am glad 😊

Some of us are just very private people. Others have been hit on so much that we just like to avoid the situation by not showing who we are. Most of those in CC are good people...however...there are some creepers. (Both female and male). So...now you know a bit about me. I'm a very cautious person. :)

I would tend to agree with MyLady_D...
I'm by nature both a very private and guarded person.
While I have participated on other sports forums while my kids were growing up - anonymity seemed to be a popular approach with the masses where lots of contentious issues were discussed... I guess I kinda became comfortable with those persona's...
When I first joined CC (almost 2 years now) - I came here as I was in need of re-invigorating my spirituality - as my world had commenced to be turned upside down...
Given my status as a 'Separated Christian' - I suspect that maintaining my anonymity was both the comfortable, logical and disciplined approach
CC has served as a very helpful life-raft...
I took a brief hiatus away from CC (trying to keep myself busy) before coming back a few months ago as my stress levels heightened...
In the process of being on CC this most recent cycle it has allowed me to learn more about myself as an individual and some of my inner vulnerabilities that I now realize that I will have to work out/thru on my own with my walk with our Lord...
While the 'D-word' is imminent (lawyers are engaged) - I have contemplated updating my picture here in CC afterwards, but have not yet committed myself to a decision at this point...
I only hesitate as I would not want to fall prey (or vs versa) to using this forum as a dating site...
That being said, while I have been very reluctant if not guarded to refrain from actively PM'ing individuals - I am open to getting to know some CC people better and maybe even expanding my FB friends list beyond my popular 30 siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins...
One phase at a time... After the 'D-word' is final, I may even explore a change of jobs to help reduce my stress level all together...
While I've considered becoming a 'traveling salesman' - I'm not sure that will cover the kids college expenses lol...

Hi CharlieRenee. :) Just a few months ago this site underwent a huge change. Before that, all the male members names appeared in blue and female members names appeared in pink. Also, right underneath each name was shown the date they joined CC, their reputation level and their age. So you could at a glance see who had been here a long time, who had a high reputation level, and what everyone's age is. Now all that is gone. You can't tell male from female or a new member from one that's been here for years and it's anyone's guess what age people are unless they delve into that person's profile, but I think most people don't bother with that.

I guess some people didn't like it that way. I wish they did that but I guess that denotes more of a dating forum, so I guess I can understand. Do you like it better this way, or no, or maybe another option...are you indifferent, one way or the other? Btw, your Birthday, Dec 18th is the same as my grand wee one. Sorry it my looking signals concern, lol. I am just a curious person. Thanks for giving me the heads up. :D

Well, a traveling salesman, hmmmm, interesting. I understand folks are guarded and I can not say that I blame them. I am a curious person and I suppose my nosiness can be intrusive but dang it, y'all need to help a sister out, hahaha. I am so sorry that your separation leading to divorce is breaking your heart. It's sad, I get it.
And yeah, I get folks not wanting this platform to be a dating forum.

There are those who would seek my injury if it weren't more obscure. I have had threats.
Your picture tells me you are a female, your posts, comments and responses tell me you are very intelligent and clever.

Oh that's so cool!!! :D:D :I miss having it the old way. That's actually the way most forum sites Ive been to have it set up. No one had asked for that info to be removed , its just the way the site update went. In fact, some expressed their dislike when they saw it was all gone. We even asked if that stuff would be reinstated but the mods had no idea whether it would be or not. Some other features came back but unfortunately those did not.

Don't desire to disappoint too much, but it you read the about me page it will give you a slight detail, which may give you a more accurate understanding. :)

As for the picture, I love the colour, and the running to Christ for the wedding. A can't wait attitude for the love of my personal Saviour.

Oh I feel so bad, my apologies, kind sir. Well, that will teach me not to make assumptions. Yes, I share in your enthusiasm and anticipation in regards for that beyond momentous union.

Much of this stems from the lack of close connection between users. When users form a tighter community they share more freely with that group. But this group is a collection of individuals, and not a circle of friends. So people don't share.

Thanks, I am ready to move on and actually excited about what He has planned for me...
Albeit, I remain a bit anxious - knowing my vulnerabilities.
While my mind tells me to be patient and guarded going forward, my heart is excited about the potential love and joy I pray to be blessed with along my journey...

Super secretive? Nah, I just don't like pictures of me. I look much geekier in still photographs than in motion video.

Plus this lynx looks much better than I.
