as a daughter of Christ, as a wife, as a servant, as a friend, I find this thread such a terrible burden and grief -
in Christ, there are absolutely no 'sides' other than His Commands, His demand for Unity -

dis-unity abounds to profound unlimited mile-stones, in this thread, so much so that brother is against brother,
and sister is against sister -

when one feels over-come with the urge to 'defend' themselves when challenged upon their individual
beliefs and actions in their convictions, then perhaps one may ask themselves WHY they feel such urgency
to 'defend'??? this isn't scriptural, Christ NEVER 'defended' Himself or His destiny, why do so many feel/have
the urgency to do such a thing???

No offence we are called to earnestly CONTEND for the faith as prepared unto battle. We are called to take upon ourselves the WHOLE armor of GOD and the only offensive weapon we have the word of God "sword"

We are to fight the good fight and sometimes that requires us to be in the trenches......this is an ongoing war between light and darkness, truth and that which is false, light and darkness, wrong and right, God or the devil......Some times it gets heated, sometimes it is smooth, but one thing I will never do for the sake of unity and that is compromise the truth or be afraid to stand up, speak up and lay the truth bare......this is the reason that people are easily offended, tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine and most headed down the broad road to hell.....because we have been a coddled society where the sky falls when we speak the truth or make a hard stand on the word.

JESUS, PAUL, ELIJAH, the prophets of OLD, John the Baptist ALL were very very controversial and SPOKE things that shocked, angered, embarrassed and or offended MANY people........I know I say hard things, I know I cut those who contradict the bible no slack and I do it because I love the truth, wish for all to be saved and lest we forget God called many types, flavors and personalities (some loving, some easy, some harsh, some weeping, some angered etc.) to lay his word bare and witness the truth

Yes oldethennew, to think they were all on the same side of the argument of not by works. I have been called a legalist to a heretic because I believe real faith will have works. We are not saved by works, we are saved for works. That aside, the whole argument was Peaceful thought she observed pride. I don't know about that but there is plenty of ego expressed here. I think she may have observed that. Let's just all shoot her down because Christ didn't call for peace but a sword.

We are unified on Eternal Security in CHRIST (OSAS), and NO WORKS AT ALL TO SAVE YOU and KEEP YOU SAVED, the OBEDIENCE IS A PART OF LOVE, and NOT SALVATION.

These are the kinds of good works we do as part of our NEW NATURE after the Holy Spirit Birthed our human spirit into ETERNAL LIFE. We do them NOT that we think it is part of SALVATION, or to KEEP SALVATION, we do them purely because WE LOVE HIM AND OTHERS. Those who believe in a gospel that our works are part of it, or to keep our salvation, have been deceived to believe in a false gospel.

Why the sense of URGENCY?

Perhaps the time is much shorter than you think.

Matthew 25:13 (NKJV)
13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.


D. L. Moody preached a sermon one Saturday Night, and since he was also intended to preach the next night at the same location. He closed his sermon by saying, "I want every one to go home tonight to think about what I said, and then I want everyone to come back tomorrow night too and be READY TO MAKE A DECISION ABOUT CHRIST AS YOUR LORD." He would tell that story with deep regrets and sorrow. Because that very night, was the GREAT CHICAGO FIRE, and at least half the people in his congregation perished in that fire. He had that sense of URGENCY from that day on.

So let us look at the work of God, and abide by it, if we truly love God. Because the scriptures says Rightly dividing the word of truth. Not wrongly. The bible is not about what we think, it’s about what God thinks. It is authored by God.

Now saved by grace and not works, It is simple. If you’re called to the kingdom of God. You didn’t perform anything to be called, you didn’t pay for your calling, you didn’t work to be called, you didn’t deserve it, we didn’t pray for God to bring Christ, He decided to give us Christ his son for free, and then we believe, and then He saves us. John 3:16. No works.



After being saved, what next, Christ says He that is not ready to lose his life and bear his cross cannot be my disciple. The word of God also tells us that work out your salvation with fear and trembling(new testament) while the old testament in Psalms 2:11.. serve the lord with fear and trembling.

Then Our lord and savior and brother told us that, anyone who does not bear fruit will be cut off, the fig tree was used as an example. This fruit is talking about yourself, if the fruits of the spirit is borne in you, then you’re abiding(if you abide in me, I’ll abide in you), then if you’re not bearing fruits, (i.e the works of the flesh is borne in you) then you’re not bearing fruits, and you cannot enter the kingdom of God. Therefore you’ll be cut off. It is simple.



Yes Salvation is eternal, if you abide, if one does not abide, such one will be cast out- The whole scriptures Genesis to revelation warned about stop believing, that when a man stops believing, he’ll be cut off. So you cannot live a sinful life( and be of the devil) and expect to enter the kingdom of God because you were once saved. If we think that way, then we are damned.



Amongst so many is this very clear scripture—-

Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.



This was written to the church. Body of Christ, anyone who has left his first love.

And we have the light, the candlestick, and yes Christ says it clearly there, He will remove the candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.



About 1 Corinthians 3:15



God was talking to us here about soul winning, at least we can see that from the verses before 15.

If you win a soul, and he’s burned, ye shall suffer loss, but the soul winner shall be saved, yet so as by fire,(the soul winner will also be tested, if truly you lived holy).. same reason Paul always edified the churches he established on the foundation of Christ.



Because God says, if any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy.



So if we believe we’ll not live holy lives as Christ lived, and get to heaven....(because Christ lived holy) Holdddddd!

What’s the proof that the holy spirit is in you, if you cannot live holy..

1. It’s either we are saying the holy spirit is not powerful enough to make us live holy.
2. Or the Holy Spirit is not in us, and thereby we are not the sons of God, because God says if we by the spirit do mortify the deeds of the flesh we are the sons of God.

I am upset that the gospel is so tainted. I pray to God that I am not tainting the gospel of His Son. I try to follow all of the gospel. Is the bible not full of "do good works" kind of scriptures. Why is if full of "do good works"? If all we had to do was believe in Jesus, the bible would be 20 letters telling the first century church 1 thing: Believe in Jesus and you will be saved. 1 sentence per written letter from the apostles. There has to be more than just believe in Jesus. I believe that is just the starting line, not the end of the race to salvation.

Tell me why the bible is constantly preaching to be a good Christian, full of good works that your Father in Heaven will be glorified?

I would say it true belief itself, because if we believe God, we’ll keep Christ’s commandments. It is simple. The moment we act contrary to what he preached, we are unbelievers. We believe with our hearts not lips.

Yes oldethennew, to think they were all on the same side of the argument of not by works. I have been called a legalist to a heretic because I believe real faith will have works. We are not saved by works, we are saved for works. That aside, the whole argument was Peaceful thought she observed pride. I don't know about that but there is plenty of ego expressed here. I think she may have observed that. Let's just all shoot her down because Christ didn't call for peace but a sword.

Which is sad, I think someone said it, you have supposedly been here only three days? (With all the banned people who return under different names, i must wonder, although i can’t prove it, i still wonder) yet you feel you can attack others yet come in the name of peace? You shoud hang around for a while before you feel you can attack others. Thats just rude. And as he said, you will not be here longbeing that way. So let us look at the word of God, and abide by it, if we truly love God. Because the scriptures says Rightly dividing the word of truth. Not wrongly. The bible is not about what we think, it’s about what God thinks. It is authored by God.

Now saved by grace and not works, It is simple. If you’re called to the kingdom of God. You didn’t perform anything to be called, you didn’t pay for your calling, you didn’t work to be called, you didn’t deserve it, we didn’t pray for God to bring Christ, He decided to give us Christ his son for free, and then we believe, and then He saves us. John 3:16. No works.



After being saved, what next, Christ says He that is not ready to lose his life and bear his cross cannot be my disciple. The word of God also tells us that work out your salvation with fear and trembling(new testament) while the old testament in Psalms 2:11.. serve the lord with fear and trembling.

Then Our lord and savior and brother told us that, anyone who does not bear fruit will be cut off, the fig tree was used as an example. This fruit is talking about yourself, if the fruits of the spirit is borne in you, then you’re abiding(if you abide in me, I’ll abide in you), then if you’re not bearing fruits, (i.e the works of the flesh is borne in you) then you’re not bearing fruits, and you cannot enter the kingdom of God. Therefore you’ll be cut off. It is simple. Note: we abide by God’s word which directs us.



Yes Salvation is eternal, if you abide, if one does not abide, such one will be cast out- The whole scriptures Genesis to revelation warned about stop believing, that when a man stops believing, he’ll be cut off. So you cannot live a sinful life( and be of the devil) and expect to enter the kingdom of God because you were once saved. If we think that way, then we are damned. Isreal as a nation, Saul, e t c.
In the new testament there are lots of them.



Amongst so many this is a very clear scripture—-

Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.



This was written to the church. Body of Christ, anyone who has left his first love.

And we have the light, the candlestick, and yes Christ says it clearly there, He will remove the candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.



About 1 Corinthians 3:15

God was talking to us here about soul winning, at least we can see that from the verses before 15.

If you win a soul, and he’s burned, he shall suffer loss, but the soul winner shall be saved, yet so as by fire,(the soul winner will also be tested, if truly you lived like Jesus christ).



Because God says, if any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy.



So if we believe we’ll not live holy lives as Christ lived, and get to heaven....(because Christ lived holy) Holdddddd!

What’s the proof that the holy spirit is in you, if you cannot live holy..

1. It’s either we are saying the holy spirit is not powerful enough to make us live holy.
2. Or the Holy Spirit is not in us, and thereby we are not the sons of God, because God says if we by the spirit do mortify the deeds of the flesh we are the sons of God.
