When reading Daniel chapters 7 through 12, you will see much of the data correlating. I therefore realize these chapters are describing the same series of events and timelines.
The beast with ten horns who destroys whatever stands in its way in Daniel 7:7, I recognize as the Northern kingdom in Daniel 11:40-41 who enters and overflows throughout many nations in the Middle East, including the Holy land.
I then put one and one together and recognize the beast with ten horns is the same as the northern kingdom who is the abomination of desolation.

Daniel 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Daniel 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
Hello Luigi,

Yes, I agree with you in that, the information above is describing the future beast and his kingdom. But, he himself is not the abomination that will be set up in the holy place. In comparing the scriptures, the wording denotes an object being set up, not a person. I believe that the following in Revelation is a description of the abomination:

"Because of the signs he was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed."

I believe that the image that is made in honor of the first beast will be the abomination that will be set up in the holy place and which will cause Israel to flee out into the wilderness.

Good day Trofimus,

The correct term is "the abomination of desolation."

The abomination being set up in the holy place is that idolatrous image that the false prophet will have made in honor of the first beast.

The desolation is the result of the abomination being set up, which is Israel making Jerusalem and Judea desolate and that because they will be fleeing out into the wilderness.

The Desolation
"So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination of desolation, described by the prophet Daniel (let the reader understand), then let those in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop come down to retrieve anything from his house. And let no one in the field return for his cloak."

"The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.

"The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach."

When Israel sees that idolatrous image, the abomination, sitting in the holy place, their fleeing out into the wilderness is the desolation.
Daniel was not talking about any image or false prophet. Daniel saw the destroyed temple of God and that was the abomination.

Hey Ahwatukee can you please come and visit my thread HERE and give your input? I value your opinion greatly and would like for you to participate.

I believe Daniel's 70th week has been fulfilled already, I know you and probably most christians dont. Therefore I am again asking you to prove me wrong and tell me how it is? Where do we get the massive gap between 69th and 70th week? Is it in the Scriptures?

What is being set up Ahwatukee, is the beasts system.
Many in what is now the Middle East, aka the Southern kingdom will side with the Northern kingdom, aka the beasts system in order to establish the vision (Daniel 11:14).

Daniel 11:14 And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.

Hello again,

In answer to your question and to demonstrate that God does have other gaps in fulfillment of prophesy, I am providing the following:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then Jesus came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. As was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath. And when He stood up to read, 17the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. Unrolling it, He found the place where it was written:
18“The Spirit of the Lord is on Me,
because He has anointed Me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim deliverance to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to release the oppressed,
19to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
20Then He rolled up the scroll, returned it to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on Him, 21and He began by saying, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Regarding the above, Jesus was quoting from Isaiah, which I am listing below:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on Me,
because the LORD has anointed Me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives
and release from darkness to the prisoners,
2to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor (Jesus stopped reading here)
and the day of our God’s vengeance,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When Jesus read the prophecy from Isaiah, He finished with "to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." If you will look at Isaiah's prophecy, Jesus omitted "and the day of our God's vengeance" and that because that part of the prophecy had not yet been fulfilled. The day of God's vengeance is referring to the tribulation period when God will be pouring out His wrath upon the earth via the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments, which had not taken place when Jesus read from Isaiah and is still future.

Regarding the seventy seven year periods:

7 X 7 = to restore and rebuild Jerusalem

62 x 7 = Messiah cut off (Christ crucified)

Total = 69 seven year periods

The Seventieth Seven

"And he will confirm a covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of the temple will come the abomination that causes desolation, until the decreed destruction is poured out upon him.”

Jesus refers to the abomination being set up in Matt.24:15, which is what initiates the great tribulation period. Therefore, since the abomination being set up is said to take place in the middle of that last seven years and Jesus spoke of it in the future tense saying "when you see the abomination spoken of by the prophet Daniel," then that event would have still been future, for He said "when you see" meaning that it had not happened yet.

From the time that Jesus was crucified and to the time that the temple was destroyed in 70 AD, there was no fulfillment of that last seven years. No seven year covenant was made with Israel, no setting up of the abomination and no desolation of Israel fleeing out into the wilderness. Since these events have not yet taken place, then they must take place in the future. For all that is written must be fulfilled.

If you will notice also the last part of the verse regarding the ruler/antichrist which says:

"until the decreed destruction is poured out upon him.”

The above is referring to that ruler, the antichrist and the destruction being poured out upon him, is referring to when the Lord returns to the earth to end the age, where both antichrist/beast and the false prophet are captured and thrown alive into the lake of fire. Paul also spoke about the antichrist's destruction which takes place when the Lord returns to the earth to end the age:

"For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but the one who now restrains it will continue until he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will slay with the breath of His mouth and abolish by the majesty of His arrival.

Therefore, since the events of that last seven years have yet to take place and the decreed destruction of the ruler, that antichrist is said to take place when the Lord returns to the earth to end the age, then the only conclusion is that the last seven years is a future event that will take place when that antichrist is revealed, which will take place after the church has been removed.

Here is the scripture:

"And he will confirm a covenant with many for one week,f but in the middle of the week he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of the temple will come the abomination that causes desolation, until the decreed destruction is poured out upon him.” - Dan.9:27

"And from the time the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation set up, there will be 1,290 days"

It is not the beasts system that is the abomination, but an actual idolatrous object that will be set up in the holy place within the temple. The abomination is referred to as something that is set up on a wing of the temple. It is referring to an object, not a person or a kingdom. The abomination is synonymous with the image that the false prophet will have made in honor of the first beast.

None of the scriptures that you provided above are linked to being the abomination, nor is the abomination even mentioned in those scriptures.

Where do we get the massive gap between 69th and 70th week? Is it in the Scriptures?
The "massive gap" is the Church Age (which is definitely not the Millennium). Daniel was not privy to this, and it is only AFTER the resurrection of Christ that His apostles were made privy to it:

ACTS 1
6
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

"It is not for you to know the times or the seasons" would also have been applicable to Daniel. His prophecy of the 70 weeks (490 years) was strictly about his people -- the Jews, Messiah and the Antichrist, and the temple, Jerusalem, and Judea.

When does the beast that is the Northern kingdom who destroys/desolates many nations make a covenant with many, before or after he invades and destroys many nations?
Answer: He makes it after he has destroyed these nations in order to establish his vision of the new world order for a period of 3.5 years.
This also falls in line with the data in Revelation 13.
The abomination is his desolation of many nations to set up his vision and get what he wants.
The cessation of the daily sacrifice, is the cessation of daily aerial sorties that will annihilate and daily take the lives of many Middle Eastern nations, including Israelis (Isaiah 28:18-20).
When the Antichrist calls an end to the daily fire from the sky is when the daily sacrifice terminates.

Isaiah 28:
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.
20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.

The desolation is specifically about Israel fleeing from Jerusalem, which is caused by the setting up of the abomination. It has nothing to do with the other nations, but has to do with the abomination being set up which causes Israel to flee (desolate). Once again, here is the scripture:

"And he will confirm a covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of the temple will come the abomination that causes desolation, until the decreed destruction is poured out upon him.”

The scripture states that "he confirms a covenant with many for one week." We know that it is Israel who he makes the covenant with because 3 1/2 years after he makes it, he causes the sacrifices and offerings to cease, which would be referring to the Israel's temple sacrifices.

HI Luigi. I respect your intensity. I do not get some of your interpretations.

The beast is the Northern Kingdom? OK. How did you get there, scripturally?

Similarly, the 'daily sacrifice' = military bombing runs? Big jump. Sacrifices in the Temple is the verbatim context.

Not attacking, just never heard such attempts at linking these things before before you piped up.

Finally, I see Isaiah 28 as my Father speaking a blunt threat about His plans for the painful end of the evil beings, spiritual and human, behind the rebellion against His authority. Can't stretch Isaiah 28 to be supporting what you are stating. Loosely wrapped, old chap.

Do contribute, but there are many here that REALLY study to show themselves approved.

Goodness me!
When will we ever see an end of these explanations that don't make sense?
.....
Here is the explanation: .....

Dan 8:11 It magnified itself, even to the Prince of the host; it removed His daily sacrifice and overthrew the place of His sanctuary. 12And on account of rebellion, the host and the daily sacrifice were given over to the horn, and it flung truth to the ground and prospered in whatever it did.
Just between us, I was not explaining, I was speculating. So are you. It would be easier to get your message if the arrogant tone was muted. Iron sharpens iron.

The desolation is specifically about Israel fleeing from Jerusalem, which is caused by the setting up of the abomination. It has nothing to do with the other nations, but has to do with the abomination being set up which causes Israel to flee (desolate). Once again, here is the scripture:

Good morning Ahwatukee,
In Isaiah 28:20 we read "For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it."

Isaiah 28:20 is in regards to the land of Israels Northern to Southern being insufficient in length to stretch out on, and its Eastern to Western borders insufficient in width to wrap oneself with cover away from the daily aerial sorties that both death and hell will have agreed to undertake (Isaiah 28:18). This undertaking by both death and hell shall pass over morning by morning, by day and by night, daily taking the lives of many Israelis/the daily sacrifice (Isaiah 28:19). And with the understanding that death and hell correspond to both the Northern and Southern kingdoms in Daniel 11; it is then a vexation to those living in Israel to understand this report when it materializes. Doesn't this make a little more sense than some animal sacrifice? Is the Lord really talking about some unenlightened people reenacting some ancient practices?

Isaiah 28:18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.

Good morning LaJolla,
How did I get here about the Northern Kingdom and other perspectives in the Word?
I believe the Lord rewards me with enlightenment when I diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). I diligently seek Him when I read His Word.
I previously posted my perspective where the data in Daniel chapters 7 through 12 correlate in many instances, thereby indicating the characters, time, and events intertwined. As such what is then taking place in Daniel 9:27 with the sacrifice and oblation, along with the overspreading of abominations making desolate has to do with some of the entities in Daniel chapters 7 through 12.
So who fits the bill? Does not the beast with 10 horns in Daniel 7:7 who devours and breaks in pieces and stamps on the residue with its feet sound like a desolating entity? How about the Northern kingdom in Daniel 11:40-41 who enters many of the Southern kingdoms nations in the Middle East overthrowing them, does this entity not appear as a desolating factor?
The answer is yes, and as such I recognize the beast with ten horns is the Northern kingdom that does the desolation of the Southern kingdom, including the land of Israel in Daniel 9:27.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Daniel 11:
40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

Isaiah 34:6 The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the Lord hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

Anyone here think the sacrifice of lambs, goats, and rams in Isaiah 34:6 are animals?
Answer: It's people.

I am somewhere between amill and postmill.

Church situation is not very good in my country. I grew up as a dispensational charismatic, then I turned to reformation and then I have become more historical or mixed in my views.

I attend SCEAV (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silesian_Evangelical_Church_of_the_Augsburg_Confession), Církev bratrská (evangelical free church, does not have English wiki) and sometimes Křesťanské sbory (Die Brüderbewegung).

How did you come to that conclusion?
Is the Lord talking about His sacrifice (great slaughter) in the lands of Bozrah and the Idumea in regards livestock?
