I do not think this verse relate to Christian era, to Christ etc.

Its a part of the old covenant with Israel. This covenant has ended. Its not about end times.
It does not relate to the Christian era at all . . . it is a promise to Israel that sometime in the future (way after 70 A.D.) that he would gather them from the nations.

Besides, if Jesus were predicting the end of Israel, why did the disciples ask Him to tell them when the kingdom would be restored?

"When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?" (Acts 1:6).

He can't 'restore' something that did not already 'exist' . . . In David's day.

One of the promises to Israel is that they would own Canaan and the surrounding land for all generations. Where is that promised to the New Testament church?

So, what desolation happened in 33 AD, according to you? Thats the middle of the week.

Also, the text is ambiguous:

And one week shall establish the covenant with many: and in the midst of the week my sacrifice and drink-offering shall be taken away: and on the temple shall be the abomination of desolations; and at the end of time an end shall be put to the desolation.

It does not have to be read that the temple will be desolated in the midst of the week. Therefore it cannot be a reason for refuting 70 AD.

A week is 7years, so the middle of a week is 31/2 years that alone would refute 70 A.D.

There is no reason to think it must be "way after 70 AD".

It could be about the Asyrian or the Babylonian captivity without any problem.

No, in 30 AD the last week began, in its middle (33 AD) Christ was crucified. Everything fits perfectly.

There it no need to connect the destruction of the temple in 70 AD to this last week.

Are you saying that Jesus is talking about a restoration of Israel under the Babylonian captivity? He is speaking in 33 A.D., this captivity happened in 586 B. C.

You suggestion has a big problem.

No, we are talking about Moses and Deuteronomium. In the verse you quoted from the Dt, there is nothing indicating "it must be way after 70 AD".

In 1991 Manu Lehtinen had the name and logo ready for Deuteronomium, but it wasn't until 1993 when he formed the band with his brother Jarno. While Deuteronomium means the fifth Book of the Hebrew Bible, Deuteronomy , Manu Lehtinen chose the name because he thought that "it looked cool, is hard to spell, so it was a perfect name for a metal band!" [8] In the beginning their style was more straightforward death metal and grindcore with Vengeance Rising , Mortification , Cannibal Corpse and Carcass as their influences.

I've never heard this group . . . but then I barely listen to the world's music - though I am weak when it comes to the Beatles.

Deuteronomium in Latin is Deuteronomy in English as Numeri is Numbers in English. In theology, the Latin is frequently used so I used it automatically.

I wish everyone was required to post their denomination. It helps to know that I am speaking to a Catholic. The Bible isn't even relevant, just church tradition.

Yes, the Catholics think they are Jews incarnate.

Wrong, It speaks of messiah getting cut off at the end or immediately after the 69th week. Which literally happened. As we should have expected to happen, from a prophesy from God.
I was speaking to Trophimus, they said;

No, it will not affect anything. There is no theological basis for the third temple. God has no use for that. He does not want animal sacrifices anymore.
Jesus's passing only fulfilled 69weeks. Daniel's 70th week has not been fulfilled yet and is the equivalent to seven years of tribulation that are yet determined on Israel.

The 70th week has been fulfilled by Christ.

One of the promises to Israel is that they would own Canaan and the surrounding land for all generations. Where is that promised to the New Testament church?
The land promises have already been fulfilled, first of all:
Joshua 21:43-45 And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.
There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

Second, they had conditions some (yes) times,
Joshua 23:16 When you have transgressed the covenant of the Lord your God, which He commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed down to them, then the anger of the Lord will burn against you, and you shall perish quickly from the good land which He has given you.”

Third the church DOES inherit the blessings of Abraham.
Gal 3:16, 29 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Uh, what other church uses Latin?

Also the Catholics are notorious preterists.
Latin was a world language used for science, theology and similar disciplines in Europe for 1800 years. its still used in international and interdenominational theology. Also, many today's languages use Latin names for books in the Bible (like German, Czech, Dutch).

"And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God" (Genesis 17:8).

Where is 'eternal' in your response. Israel lost the land after the time the verses you quoted . . . God promised Israel through Moses that they would be gathered from the nations.

Where do you see 'the land' in Galatians 3:16, 29? hmmm?
