All my life I have judged people based on their looks and their actions.
It's a huge problem I'm trying to deal with and I wish I could see everyone as equally important
as myself. I treat everyone the way I wish to be treated on the outside, I am nice to
everyone I come in contact with, but there is a part of me deep down that judges people.

I'm also known to talk about people behind their backs to others, to somehow make my own self
feel better than others, but I wish I could stop. I in turn do not want to act or feel this way,
on my journey to becoming but an almost-perfect man.

How do I stop this sinful judgemental behaviour? How do I stop judging people on both
the outside and the inside? I want everyone to know me has a kind and decent person
who puts God and others before myself.

How?

- By praying and asking God to help you focus on Him and by meditating on God's word.

Matthew 7:1-5

1
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Ask , Seek , Knock !

Matthew 7:7-8

7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Isaiah 54:10
For the mountains may depart and the hills disappear, but My kindness shall not leave you. My promise of peace for you will never be broken, says the Lord Who has mercy upon you.

He loves you and is more than willing to help you. Just call out to Him. :)

Love in Christ

Clement :)

Look at how messed up you are, realize how much grace God has with you, then realize you're no different than anyone else. Extend as much grace to others as God has given to you.

Also, read the verse below. When you judge someone, you're basically saying you're as smart as God and kind of put yourself on his all knowing throne! As if you know EVERYTHING he knows and can make a correct judgement.

So another solution is to realize you are not as smart as God.

James 4
11 Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister[d] or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you

How to decrease your level of judgemental behavior: Read Psalm 139:23, put yourself in their shoes, understand why they did what they did

Try memorizing psalms 19:14, then when you catch yourself judging people recite that verse to yourself until it passes.

Yes and I would put it in like step by step as it might of been said by being aware or memorize it and try not to do it. I myself need help with that from the LORD and I do not think anybody can do it without GOD.

Did this help or the opposite?

Yes, i have the exact very same problem. It is hard, but we need to take step by step, we need to know that they are people. - they are just like us. We have to have the mind of Christ. (:

In my opinion, judging in this context is similar to discrimmination, acting on preconceptions when trying to bring others to a personal view of justice. The majority of the time judging is harmless, in that those who do, don't buy into those preconceptions fully, acknowledging there's room for such views to be amended, or that they are not an authority (have the reasoning skills) on such a subject; I guess Samuel would have been such a person allowed to skip the latter rule.

I had that kinda problem too . :( but thanks for the advice
