Hi Star, just wondering is it not possible we can apply both to our life, instead of one or the other? Just wanted to know your point of view. This morning devotion: Obedience or discipline. It will be one or the other.
God bless

Sometimes it takes discipline to be obedient. Remember the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, somtimes. This morning devotion: Obedience or discipline. It will be one or the other.
Some people are unable to make the complete transition from the old covenant into the new covenant and continue to stumble over the OT Law (and may even mix the old covenant with the new covenant) but in their minds, they believe they have obeyed the Master by sufficiently obeying all of the Law/Commandments (with a heavy emphasis on keeping the Sabbath day) and will receive eternal life based on those terms. We've heard all the sugar coated double talk from SDA's, those in the Hebrew Roots movement and other misguided teachers of the law in general on CC before and the end result is always the same -- "salvation by grace plus law, faith plus works." Subtle mixture of law and grace which is a perversion of the gospel.![]()
How are they not commensurate? This morning devotion: Obedience or discipline. It will be one or the other.

so redeeming the firstborn?
where do you take sacrifices?
this isn't done for atonement.
I can't see a justification for ignoring sacrifices and offerings, clearly spelled out, and not keeping them exactly as the letter says, if your stance is 'not one jot or tittle' - - - this position of yours doesn't even remove the demand of sin offerings, because those too are jots and are tittles.
you have to break the Law apart ((to think you can)) in an unjustifiable way in order to make yourself under it and think it doesn't completely condemn you.
your only hope is if it is lifted from you. for example if you were to die, and so no longer be under its power. otherwise you are telling me that all believers are willfully continuing in sin, and there is no salvation.
What version are you reading that uses the term, "the Son of Elohim"? That is interesting to me. Who do you think Elohim is?

but still a sin not to wear tzitzit? wickedness?
Of course it is. Anything that is against His Instructions is sin...
lolI have no idea what tzitzit is so I don't wear one
So are you saying because I dont then I am sinning?
And if I never wear one before I die then I'm condemned?
I think they're pulling your leg. A tzitzit is the tassel that adorns the religious garb of a Hebrew male.I have no idea what tzitzit is so I don't wear one

You are clearly WRONG dc.
You have forgotten the ongoing purpose for the LAW.
Romans 3:20 (HCSB)
20 For no one will be justified in His sight by the works of the law,
because the knowledge of sin ⌊comes⌋ through the law.
Romans 3:23-24 (HCSB)
23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
24 They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Matthew 5:17-20 (HCSB)
17 “Don’t assume that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
18 For I assure you: Until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass from the law until all things are accomplished.
19 Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commands and teaches people to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever practices and teaches ⌊these commands⌋ will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
The Law's primary Purpose will never be destroyed, as long as Sin is in this world. It is through that KNOWLEDGE of SIN, most people will seek a SAVIOR, and receive HIM as LORD of their lives, out of Pure LOVE for HIM.
The correct answer is A, because, only in the eternal state will sin be done away with, in the mortals of this world.
Hi decon, this thread and myself would like to see a new reality show called, "Roughin' It, with Dave and Friends." Promoting our National Forests and learning how to lower your carbon foot print by, "Living Off the Grid", really

Okay to you and or Star and thanksour Heavenly Father doesn't discipline us because we obey perfectly
He chastens us because we do not
both definitely apply to our lifes as new creatures with new desires and affections with a new heart that wants righteousness.....
but we still reside in our fallen sinful flesh.... which wants its own pleasure
we can obey... through walking in the spirit
or we will recieve discipline...
for acting out according to the flesh
it is one or the other in that sense
(right star?)
to those who say God will cast His own out (which He said He never would)
how do you explain the fact Gods gifts are without repentance?
and to those who say a man throws the gift away himself..... how do you explain the fact we are not kept by the will of man and that no one will remove us from His hand?
never got an answer to this one....
lol
