I saw some discussion regarding the sons of God marrying the daughters of men in Genesis 6, and a related issue as to who are the Nephilim? I've written on the subject and for those who don't mind reading a lengthy biblical treatment of the subject I submit it for your encouragement. http://www.growupinchrist.com/images/docs/Eschatology/Sons_of_God_by_Drew_Worthen.pdf
Son of God are those who follow after the Spirit of God. Not the ones that left their first place of habitation that rebel against the Holy Spirit .

The phrase sons of God has to do with those created in the likeness of God. The phrase can be used of flesh and blood or spirit entities that have no dna needed to multiply. like used with the temporal flesh of Jesus as the son of God . where the Son of God speaks to the unseen spirit of God

daughter of men or sons on f men speaks to these not converted . that portion od scription was simply speaking of those unvernly t yoked jeopardizing the spiritual seed(singular) Christ by which son of men are born again as sons of god . The flood provided a new beginning of protecting the Spirit of Christ. the born again sed

Acts 2:17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Romans 8:14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father

Daughters of men, unconverted woman,

Genesis 24:13 Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water

Rebekah, blessed as her conversion passing on the seed (singular) Christ not seeds (plural ) as if the flesh The seed(singular) as that in which is the key the gates of hell could never prevail against

And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.Genesis 24:13

Son of men, unconverted men,

Psalm 57:4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

Psalm 145:12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.

Sons and daughters of God, the converted

Acts 2:17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

The sons of God in Genesis 6 (if we compare with the epistle of Jude 6) are angels - " And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day". The legend of the conclusion of the fallen angels for corrupting human daughters is contained in the book of Jubilees and in the book of Enoch. The author of the epistle of Jude was influenced by this Judaic apocryphal literature.

well he's basically advertising his site and blog

Grow up in Christ Ministries

that's not really how things are done here Drew...that would be like someone going to your site and advertising their site and you would not even know who they were nor would you have the time to check everything out

I just find this kind of thing cheesy...you obviously do not want to simply 'discuss'. you are teaching

and then you say 'you saw some discussion'...really?

Sons of God are those led by the Spirit of God . Angels that have left their first place of habitation do not fit the mold .and the angels that did not leave .They have no way to reproduce they have no dna. or sexual organs. Not created as beast of the field (dust) That portion of scripture is pointing to those who were unevenly yoked . Believers as sons of God with unconverted daughters of men .

No need for science fiction. That kind of idea belongs to Hollywood after the author of someone's imagination.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

I like the right up you have done interesting indeed, I two view it as just people and not being some kind of hybrid.

I believe there's some flaws in the fallen angels as being such, that a lot of theologians etc. teach.

First they lost those titles of angels or sons of God when they were cast from heaven,
second no demon nor satan can manafest or transform into humans only God has the power to do so and the fallen ones (demons and satan) did not take that ability with them. true they can tempt folks or even possess people but they don't have the ability to alter human DNA or what ever that's nonsense.

After the fall of Adam, no man can be called a son of God until the new birth through Jesus Christ. These sons of God cannot be man or any descendants of fallen man. Seth did not bear God's image but the image of fallen Adam. Adam passed his image, not God's image to Seth and so forth. The entire chapter of Genesis 5 traces the uncorrupted seed line of Genesis 3:15. Satan was out to destroy this seed line (even through the death of Abel). No giants can come about through the seed of man. It had to be the seed of fallen angels. They show up again to battle against Israel and will show up again during the Great Tribulation as iron mixed with miry clay.

The angels as spirit being (no flesh, dna, no way to multiply) ) are those who were led by the Spirit of God as sons of God, just as Moses who did have flesh, as another kind of messenger( Agelos) of God. He was led by the same Spirit of God .

Job and his friends as messengers from my understanding could of been before the messenger Moses . I don't think it would matter who was first ? The first will be last as a principle.

Its the principle or law of faith that worked in them that I would think would matter ?

The Nephilim tall humans were the same kind of men in Numbers 13. Those who walked by sight (no faith)saw themselves as grasshoppers .

David who was given the faith of Christ that worked in David aimed the little stone in the exact place to show the power of the gospel working in the affairs of men . The NBA has many tall humans they are not aliens drafted into the hall of fame from another Galaxy. It was simply showing men unevenly yoked. God protecting the spiritual unseen seed, Christ …...starting over with Noah .

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. Numbers 13:33

Same reason they fled from Goliath...not walking by faith as sons of God

And David left his carriage in the hand of the keeper of the carriage, and ran into the army, and came and saluted his brethren.
And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them. And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.1 Samuel 17:22-24

Your view leads to the devaluation of human life. If you don't believe that all humans are made in the image of God, you have a much-diminished basis on which to battle abortion, euthanasia, charitable support of the needy, or even evangelism.

The reason it would matter who is before the other is in who first spoke of the sons of God, That is either the book of Job first used the term and then afterwards Moses spoke of them in Genesis(added imformation about them) or the other way around. Who they are in Job 1&2 seem to be angelic beings in the presence of God (Job 1:12/#6440) and then satin leaves from there and goes back to the earth where Job and his family are...

They lost that title being called an angel, you give them power like they are gods or something. only God has the power to transform into human,

Fallen angels/sons of God, that concept is riddled with flaws. satan and demons can tempt or even possess not alter DNA of humans. that's what they want you to believe they have power do things like God. they don't.

You are drawing on assumption, just because Satan was present does not mean they were angels gathering in Job 1. You do not realize you are denying the power of God when you say angels (ie. cherubim) can mate with humans. Even if they had the capacity they would not be allowed as Job shows us. Even the demons must operate within the boundaries set by God.

Jude 1:6, "And the angels which kept not their first estate, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day."

But some say that they are not there, in chains, in darkness.

Then this verse would be a false statement.

I don't see anywhere this relates to Genesis 6 or angels mating. It just speaks of rebellious angels, which we already know of. You are reading something in that is just not there.
