Well he hasn't responded anymore so I'll just leave him be no use in explaining to someone who is determined not to accept correction.

Yup we have them here too, I know how you feel!!!:)

I'm having this discussion on another site and wondered what you all thought.
Basically a guy is saying that God created everything so he gave sin to us using the scriptures of Romans 26-27 of how God gives people over to sin yet he interprets this as God giving people sin.
Please feel free to answer what your view point is on this.
The Bible is clear that God created all things and that He has full control over all things so He is sovereign over everything. It means that God did create sin, it is a very deep subject so we need to be careful not to dive in expecting to come out understanding why God does the things He does.

We need to trust that God knows exactly why He created sin and evil, He has a good reason for everything He does. It may not make sense to us now but it will when we receive our glorified sinless body and mind, so let's be patient and trust God in all things.

Try to imagine love peace and joy, if evil and sin didn't exist :)

The truth is this.

Was Sin apart of GODS original purpose? No. He gave Adam and Eve perfect human life. They could not grow old, they could not get sick, they could not die, thus they were perfect humans who were obedient to GOD at first so sin did not exist. Genesis 1:28,2:8,9,15

GOD intended for humans to live forever on earth. Psalm 37:29 Revelation 21:3,4

God did not create the earth for nothing. Isaiah 45:18

GOD did create the once good angel who is named satan the devil and infact the bible does not give glory to ones original name. Satan means Resister and Devil means Slanderer . Satan was a perfect angel just like all the other myriads of angels. GOD gave angels free will just like humans. When satan was looking down at Humans he must of thought that they should worship him or they could rule themselves and did not need GODS help. Thus calling GOD a liar. Genesis 3:1-5 This once good angel allowed a wrongful desire to build inside him and when he acted on it, being powerful he made it look as if a snake was talking to Eve and deceived her into eating from the forbidden tree and Adam followed suit. They willing disobeyed GOD and thus sin entered into the world. In turn The once good angel became satan the devil.
Romans 5:12 this is why we grow old, get, sick and die,

To illustrate, how does an honest person become a thief? He was not born a theif. But he desires, or wants something that does not belong to him. He KEEPS THINKINH ABOUT IT, and his wrong desire becomes stronger. Then, when he gets the chance, he steals it. He has turned himself into a thief.
Read James 1:13-15

No, God did not give sin to people. He made it possible to sin but He never caused them to sin, it's actually quite a silly question :geek:

I thought it was a silly question too but, well you know how it goes you talk to people that don't know what they are talking about they get desperate and start with insults and so on and so forth.

Yep that was my whole point with the guy because the first sin regarding Humanity was in the form if the tree of good and evil sin wasn't given but, rather forbidden.

WRONG.. The first sin regarding humanity was NOT in the form of the tree of good and evil. It was in the form of the first lie ever told. The serpent telling Eve that she and Adam would NOT die if they ate of the tree.

I don't really care to correct this, but technically the devil isn't a part of humanity. Sure, he is part of God's creation, but he isn't human. You are correct though, in respect to the first sin ever being originated from the devil. However, for humanity, it would be Adam and Eve's disobedience.

Yes, I've noticed that Christians can be quite judgmental. Many seem to disagree just for the sake of disagreeing

Ummm.. How can the devil not be a part of humanity? He's everywhere in this world, influencing many to do evil things. And if he had never been allowed into the Garden, then A&E would never have been tempted to sin..

That's exactly what I believe oh and a new development the guy is pretty much calling me an anti christ now it all started with me saying gay is an abomination to God, him disagreeing and the kicker is that his username is giant A whole(actual user name is different) yet he's basically tried to lecture me and say I haven't read the bible.
After back and forth with him proving him wrong he now has suggested that I'm an antichrist.
When a person rejects what the Bible states on a subject and goes with their personal emotion driven beliefs it calls into question who do they have faith in.

Yeah, I would like to sit on the fence on this one but if I'm forced to take a side I have to go with God created everything including sin, wickedness and evil. I've been put on a spot by someone here before with a question "did God preordain the Jewish holocaust", I jumped and said yes but then I thought about it and decided that He didn't cause it.

At the end of the day, I have to go with God preordained the whole of human history from the start to it's end. I don't think He preordains individual actions, just the overall sum of events.

Yeah and discussion is unfruitful that way, I especially don't like the whole deal of when I point out just one thing that is correct for instance that homosexuality/gay is an abomination to God and then having the subject switched to some off the wall stuff that can only be understood with taking scripture out of context or literally.

Hi I’m new to this forum and Christian discussion, so bare with me. I have 2 question on your thought: 1)what do you mean by “create” sin? I guess I’m asking what is yours or the biblical definition of the word create? 2) what is the biblical or your definition of sin?

God created the possibility for us to sin, because He gave all us a measure of free will, but when a person is converted they lose that free will and become slaves of Christ so they are no longer slaves of sin. We are not born autonomous, we must serve one of two masters. We either serve God or sin there's not third option.

We are all born into sin, so we will serve sin until God saves us from that bondage. God is the One who draws people to Himself, nobody would ever chose to be a slave of Christ unless God draws them and then they believe the Gospel when they hear it.

God created everything by speaking it into existence, sin is rebellion against God. It was first found in Lucifer, then a third of the Angels joined Lucifer in the rebellion and they were cast down to the earth where Satan deceived Eve and later Adam was deceived as well so the whole of mankind inherited sin.

The only way we can be justified is through faith in the finished victorious work of Christ.

While I appreciate all that you said, I was hoping for a more concise answer to my questions in the most simplest way. Again, the question posed to the group was “did god create sin?” I’m only wish to know what is meant be create and what is the biblical definition sin.
You said “sin is the rebellion againts god”while I agree 100% that rebellion is a sin, I don’t believe it is biblical the definition of sin.
So I don’t believe my questions were answered. Thank you for your thoughts though
