If someone who says they are saved but is committing adultery, every weekend. Goes home and pray for forgiveness, but goes and does it the next weekend. Do you think that they are serious about their salvation. When they get serious the sin must stop. Other wise everybody will be saved. The drunk on the corner is saved. So I guess he is also under grace. God forbid. The intentional sinning has to stop, they know it's wrong, but say I'm under grace God know we do this, he will forgive us. You may as well be crucifying Jesus all over again.
What does this mean exactly

You are showcasing people's false understanding of grace and then trying to use it to enforce legalism.

People came at Paul with these same false notions about grace, find the right understanding of being under grace and then go and help these people get it right too, the problem with sin is that it is destructive, grace is the antidote to sin not its excuse.

I am a sinner, but I do not intentionally sin. I get mad at my husband, I call him big head under my breath, but I don't let him hear me, he fuss I stop fussing and let him fuss by his self. He can't do anything but be quite. It's no fun arguing by yourself. I get tired of arguing so I don't. I'm not perfect, and I'm not saying anybody has to be. You know what sin is, don't do the act. It's that simple. When I was sinning I knew the difference, but I did it anyway. Lied to myself and said God will forgive me. When I was sinning I didn't want to stop. Then I got serious, because God threw me to the wolves and I got battered. So I said if it's this bad on earth what will I suffer in hell. Then I thought, oh no father don't let me go there, I will stop sinning. I got scared, and I still am.

Do not be scared. I am not sure of your beliefs, but you do know that Jesus took on all our sins and paid the debt for those sins?

We have to trust that He did that work on our behalf. If we are trusting in Him he will break the bondage of sin in our lives.

Legalism does not work, it is not true freedom from sin.

We cannot in ourselves have victory over sin, it is not gonna happen, we can fool ourselves but it is only Jesus by His Grace that we are given true liberation from the bondage of sin.

This is something you need to take to Him in prayer. :)

What does this mean to you.
John 8:11 “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
He didn't say you may keep sinning, but just always pray for forgiveness each time.
JESUS at that time had not yet went to the cross on our behalf and JESUS was born under the law and It would not have been possible for the women to stop sinning In her own strength, even If she would try to stop sinning under law she would have come short of the glory of GOD. Remember the rich young ruler,he was under law and he asked JESUS what must he do to have Eternal life and JESUS told him,you know the commandments so then a person under law would have to keep the ten commandments perfectly and because of the weakness of their flesh they would always come short of the glory of GOD.

Thank GOD we are now under the new testament Grace where the Issue now Is faith.

I believe if I die today I will go to heaven. Fearing the Lord keeps me from sinning consciously. And I am glad about that.

Yes we do come short, so he meet us half way. We have to stop sinning intentionally and live by the spirit, and in truth.
If that woman stop committing sin she was saved.

Judas did not loose his privileged position because of sin, ultimately Judas lacked saving faith in Christ Jesus as Saviour, Son of God and Redeemer and he failed to move from a disciple to a saved born again believer.

Judas was a imposter the son of perdition. The scary part is that none of the others knew it. A lesson for us.

Jesus does not meet us half way, He has born/taken on all our sin.

You have a very unusual understanding of scripture, do have a bible study group? You do not need to answer if you do not want to, but I feel like if you understood scripture better, it would help you as you try to deal with sin in your life.

Yes he was, good point that the others did not know. Bothers me that people hold him up as someone who lost his salvation like in the OP.

But I just told you I do not intentionally sin, so there is no sin to deal with. I understand the scripture. my understanding and most on this forum is different. I understand things differently. We have to stop sinning.
1 cor: 15:34 1 Corinthians 15:34 34Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God-I say this to your shame.

Okay then, well right... not different understanding is the only way to have a victorious, worthy walk in the Lord.

It is about a relationship with Christ and be conformed to His image, not about us trying to clean ourselves up to be worthy of Him.
I will leave it at that.

To be conformed to his image. Did he continually sin? No. That is what the disagreement has been. I say we must stop sinning, the others say we are not able to stop sinning because of our sin nature. That's why Jesus came, so that we could. Just as he did.

When you repent, stay repented, don't repent today and tomorrow have to repent again three days later have to repent again. Do you see what I mean repent and don't turn back and return to the dirty deed again. Your putting Jesus back on the cross again and again. God forbid.
P...,

Not me ...G-d's word does;
What does this mean...lord's prayer..."forgive us of our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us....?...and why should it be said at least once daily?

If you know that it is wrong, just don't do it. And live without committing sin. So that when the day come when we see Jesus we will have manage to do what is required of us to the best of our ability.

It means to forgive us for those that we have wronged and we forgive those who have wronged us. Because you may have wronged someone unknowingly. And if someone wronged you, you forgive them.

Hi pjharrison, this is a beautiful testimony. It speaks to how we grow with God's grace. Grace enables us to do what we cannot on our own. You've stopped fussing. Do you know you can also control your thoughts? Take each thought captive, before you know it your thoughts will catch up with your actions. It's true. blessings ~

p....,
You are absolutely right on.
However, since we are not perfect we will occasional sin and G-d knew that so He set His plan up to assist us by not limiting the number of times we may receive forgiveness. Having said that I must hasten to add....we must strive to eliminate sin of any type from our righteous lives on an improving basis.
Scripture tells us to pray without ceasing..... symbolic of the need to pray often...no doubt to include sin forgiveness.

I don’t think the bible says that under law HE meets us halfway.

What about sins that are not Intentional, like a bad thought under law the person that sins would be breaking the law (GOD’s perfect standard of righteousness) and therfore would not be acceptable to GOD.Under law they still needed grace, the law was there to lead them to realizing that only GOD could help them.
