....would it make sense for there to be a section for people in committed relationships (whether dating/courting, engaged and married)? Folks could share stories and advice, regarding issues that a single person might not have.

I assume that’s what the “Family” forum is for.

Married peeps write posts in the Singles forum all of the time. Actually, what you are suggesting relates to the whole site in general, especially regarding issues that a single person may not have and the issues that a single person may have that a married person may not have. There are many existing threads that cover the differences between those that are single and those that are married.

Oh, I see. It looks like we have "couples issues" covered, then. What about renaming the Singles Forum to Relationships, with obvious subtext that it covers singles, marriages and inbetweens?

But not all singles want to be in relationships.... then it defys the whole purpose of the Singles forum.

I would love to see a Romance Christian Singles forum but that's never going to happen. I have heard it said, more than once, that this is not a dating site yet I met my wife here who is also a member. Go figure.

That isn't quite what I meant. I forget what his username was, but I recall seeing some "ancient texts" from someone wanting a hookup section. Anyway, my intention was to have the proposed "Relationships" area be a place to discuss relational issues - whether being contentedly single, in an absolute train-wreck of a marriage or wondering whether porcelain-white or eggshell-white is a good bridesmaid dress color...or anything else pertinent.

According to what the rules say, the purpose of this site is NOT intended to be a dating site. Just because some have met and married here, doesn't mean that it's a full-fledged dating site... And I HATE getting PM's from guys who join and send me a PM asking to hook up with me or others here. It's annoying. SO I will continue to tell people that this is not a dating site.. LOL

If Robo wanted this to be a dating site, he would've called it Christian Date, not Christian CHAT. lol

Like someone else said, that would fit into the Family forum. Plenty of sad sack stories in there..

What's to figure? There's a difference between using a place to prowl for a mate and going someplace where you happen to meet someone.
Church isn't a place people should go just to find a date, yet it still happens and people understand that easily. Why's it different because you're online?

Well we have a singles section for "contentedly single" and the family section for "trainwreck marriages". So really no need to combine them. Usually people who are in relationships still post in singles to discuss problems.
