I was driving home today and I asked God to speak to me. I was listening to MercyMe and crying my eyes out. Then I looked up at the sun and saw a cloud. I couldn’t tell if it was a sheep or goat, but it resembled more of a goat. I researched this and saw what goat means in the Bible. I’m so upset. What am I doing wrong? How can I show God that I do love him and that I want to live my life for him?
God knows your heart. By reading this, I can tell that you love God and he knows that. God loves you and he is there to pick you back up and encourage you. Not to discourage you.

I've been there before too. Felt like the biggest goat to ever walk. I asked for forgiveness, yet the enemy came to make me doubt that I was worthy of forgiveness. We all make mistakes, but Jesus is faithful to forgive us. The enemy wants to make us doubt God's forgiveness and wants us to stay down. All we have to do is take the masters hand and get back up.

Someone already posted Hebrews 12. It is well worth the read and seems fitting for what you are going through.

The best test:

Pray to God, cry your eyes out and then flip a coin 20 times in a row.

If the coin changes its sides, God is not speaking to you and you are just a too emotional person (probably related to your crying, you know), trying to see God's messages where there are none.

God gives us signs in any form. Even if we DON'T ask for one. JMO
You find comfort in the clouds that is up to you, however I certainly would not rely on a cloud formation to know my status in Christ.
We have the Holy Spirit and His written word for that. :)

Trying to see messages and signs in clouds, in how birds fly, in coffee grounds, in how bones fell on the ground, is paganism.

Every primitive shamanism or every primitive religion has it somehow incorporated.

Christianity does not.

Before, I judge as to whether or not God gave you an out word sign, may I ask what is it that upset you?

Little less Bible thumping and more love please. This person is obviously heartbroken and in pain and relating it the best way they can. Why not try a little love, compassion, and encouragement?

The best love, compassion and encouragement is to get rid of what makes him being in pain and heartbroken - to get rid of this superstitiousness.

Not sure what you can possibly have against it.

Flipping a coin has NOTHING to do with the OP's post... Just from the law of gravity and physics, we already know that a flipped coin is NOT gonna land on the same side multiple times in a row.. So no offense, but that statement of your is ludicrous.

Nothing against getting rid of superstitions, but it's all in how it is approached.

Not my thing to hammer down on and crack jokes when another is in pain.

Pain is as big as we make it to be.

The less significance such occurences in clouds will have for the person, the less pain he will have from it.

I understand what you are saying, but not all outward signs are of the devil. Superstitiousness would imply that this person believes in things that are pagan related. That would then imply that God has never used His creation to give man an answer. If one were to believe that- then a great portion of the bible would have to be omitted from teaching. The truth of the matter is, none of us knows what upset this seeking soul. Once we know this, then I believe we can know the motive of the heart and if the answer is of God or the devil. You may want to rest on the quote by Christ: " An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign, and all they will receive is the sign of Jonah"...
But Christ was speaking of an evil adulterous people in that reply, who seek signs and proof from God to believe. He was not addressing people of faith. Again, the scriptures are full of God giving outward signs , meaning- using His creation to give answer. I believe that is all Brad 47 means , I do not think he is negating the Word. God Bless!

You did not get the point.

To get "God's message" from clouds is the same as from flipping a coin.

Yes, ITS NOT GONNA LAND on the same side, because of physical laws. Thats the point. The same physical laws make clouds.

If you want a sign from God, make the test conditions to be against all odds. Like flipping a coin 20 times.

Not some wild imagination in nature that happen all the time.

Sure, why not? Wasn't there a better way to approach it though?

The person already feels like a goat. No need to beat them any further down with sarcasm and jokes. Shouldn't we help them to understand in a gentler fashion?

I do not think an unexpected happening is a flipping of a coin. Again judging as to knowing a person's heart and what can not- for sure be known if the answer is from God or not. Was this person looking for a sign? I do not recall reading that in the OP. I do know they said they were upset and seeking God's help. I do not know what the issue or question is in the heart. The person who started this discussion can set it all straight by simply revealing the issue and concern. And your opinion does not change the fact that all of scripture has proof of God using HIS CREATION to give answer. No doubt the devil too can manipulate , that is why I feel judgement must be reserved until all the facts can be known. Correct me, but unless you are a mind reader as Christ is- or Christ revealed MOTIVE here , on the part of heart and sign , no one really knows what is what. God Bless!

Sometimes it's easy to be quick to jump to judgement without evening knowing the circumstances. That's why it pays to be quick to hear and slow to speak.
