So it's not just me. ;) You hit the nail on the head! (y)
IS IT CYNICAL AND BIASED THAT "THE WRATH OF GOD COMES ON THOSE WHO ARE DISOBEDIENT"?
...THAT THEY ARE GOOD EXAMPLES OF THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER AND THE SEED WHERE CERTAIN TYPES OF BELIEVERS HEARD AND RECEIVED THE WORD THEN FALL AWAY.

hebrews 6:4-6
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and WHO HAVE FALLEN AWAY, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

AM I JUST SPECULATING THAT ÀNANIAS AND SAPPHIRA LIED TO THE HOLY SPIRIT?

WILL THEY STILL BE SAVED AFTER LIEING AND DISOBEYING THE HOLY SPIRIT?

The Sin and Doom of Ungodly People
3 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

13 For such people are false apostles, deceitfulworkers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

Tell me Ralph, where does this "faith" that you have come from?
Faith (the ability to know something is true that we can't see) comes from God. We then do the believing/trusting in response to being able to know the unseen gospel is true.

That bothers you for two reasons. 1) you don't recognize the difference between the ability to believe and the actual believing a person does in response to having the ability to believe. And 2) you have been programmed to think that ANYTHING we do to be justified/saved is us trying to earn our own salvation when actually it is works that constitute the works gospel, not believing. Believing is not included in the things we do to earn our own salvation by works. See the difference between the two here:

"5But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness " - Romans 4:4-5

See it? To the one who does not work, but rather believes......that is the person who receives justification as a free gift. Believing is set apart and distinct from working to earn salvation. And we do that believing through the ability God has given us to supernaturally know the gospel we can't see is true. God gives the ability to believe, we choose whether or not we are going to use that ability to believe to then trust in Christ and be saved.

r...,

Doesn't your thought make G-d out as unfair?
I think so. Common sense tells me that would be unfair...and we know that G-d is not unfair.
G-d would forgive because He knows what is in our heart and if we regularly repent of an occasional sin ...He knows that would be done in short order. Sure it is....otherwise G-d could take us during that short window.

If I died in my sins, yes.

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,
To turn one away from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27

However, I’ve learned how to avoid sin, which is to walk according to the Spirit who dwells within me, rather than the sin that dwells in my flesh.

I avoid ungodly sights and sounds, and people, choosing to be set apart unto Him who purchased me with His blood.
God knows this world and how it operates much better than we do. He knows what we see and hear. When Jesus walked this earth, He was grieved in His heart by what He saw. He received publicans and sinners and ate with them and sharply rebuked the pharisees and scribes who isolated themselves from those they deemed unworthy to associate with.

God needs us here in this world so we can reach out to those in need of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus didn't hide from sinful man. He walked among the mass of humanity and spoke to them, touched them, loved them. We can't hide ourselves away. We are the ones through whom God reaches out to those who have the most need and we are to shine as lights in this world. Some people may never have had any love shown to them and when we isolate ourselves, we withhold the love of God from them, the love God showed to us when we were exactly like them, the love of God which overflows in our hearts.

Do you think that if you are exposed to "ungodly sights and sounds, and people" you will start to sin? Or do you think that some of the taint will fall on you? God equips us with what we need to overcome and He tells us to reach out to those who are lost, those who hunger and thirst, those who have never been touched with the love of God so that they may see God's love for them. Do you think God cannot work within you to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy (Jude 1:24) if you receive "publicans and sinners" and eat with them?

When I’m walking with Him in fellowship I’m very sensitive to His presence, Just as if I was physically with Him.
Do you think He leaves you if/when you are in the midst of "ungodly sights and sounds, and people"? He's there with you and reaching out to those in need through you.

justpassinthrough said:
How would you act toward others if Jesus was standing right there with you?
Jesus is right here with me. Jesus is in me. He can't get any closer to me.

This is how He told Abraham to live -

Walk before Me and be blameless.

He says the same thing to us -

Walk in the Spirit and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Walk in fellowship with Me.

I learned after years of failure to do this.

I’ve learned to invest myself towards the Spirit, rather than investing my time towards the flesh, to gratify my sinful flesh.
Isolating ourselves from others is not "walking in the Spirit". Walking in the Spirit is having the love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, meekness, faith, temperance in our lives no matter what we face. Whether we are in the midst of "ungodly sights and sounds, and people" or in a small group Bible fellowship with likeminded believers.

Of course we are to confess our sin to be forgiven.

There are many here who don’t believe we even have to do that.

They teach we don’t have to repent or confess ours sins.

Is that what you believe?

JPT
I believe you confess your sin to whoever you have wronged. I can promise you that both you and I and every person alive today sins constantly and there is no way we could confess even part of the sins we do. We are to confess our sins one to another.

and where did I say that one has no need to love God or other people.

what I say is what Paul said- grace , faith , works. you and some others are pushing faith+works= grace. that is wrong. Paul is right.

Sinning, disobeying His Commandments, is demonstrating hatred toward that person and God.

You're STILL slicing and dicing Ralph.

So you admit that God is the One who gives you faith to believe the Gospel, but you also believe it is YOUR ability to accept what you already believe!

Keep digging! You still haven't arrived at the answer. WHERE does YOUR ability to accept the Gospel come from? Who gave you that ability?

The ONLY work we could possibly do that would please God is to place TRUST in the fact that Jesus paid for our sins once and for all and that he gave us eternal life. That is the ONLY thing God asks of us.
Period! End of story!
That is your opinion but it's not in the Bible so I have top dismiss it as irrelevant and a false extra Biblical teaching.

The Bible tells us that we are born dead in or trespasses and sins, as such we can't decide to trust in Jesus. We can only trust in Jesus if God quickens us to life and grants us the gift of faith so we can believe the Gospel, if He doesn't draw us to Himself and open our spiritual eyes we would remain blind and we would never repent and believe.

The only way God can be pleased with what we do, is if we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit then God is pleased with the work of the Holy Spirit which He does through us. So He's still not pleased with us, He's only pleased with the Holy Spirit in us because we are still sinners after we are converted.

The only time we will stop sinning is when we die and receive our new glorified sinless body, then we will be able to please God at all times. So please try not to give yourself anything to boast about, we should only boast about Christ our Lord.

Your representation of the Gospel is a lie, I am living proof that you're a liar.

I was converted at the age of 19, I remained a faithful Christian for a couple of years and then I left the Church and went back into the world and fully gave myself to sin without restraint. I fornicated every day, used hard drugs and got involved in many crimes.

I fully indulged my flesh ad tried everything this world has to offer, and after about a year I had enough then I repented and joined a new Church and lived as a faithful Christian for around a year. Then I decided to leave that Church and go back into the world and indulge my flesh in every wicked sin I wanted to, I fornicated every day and used hard drugs and got involved in crime again.

After about a year I decided to repent and find a new Church, I then found a Church and I was baptized and became a member. I back slid many more times and committed all kinds of sins, but I repented every time and God forgave me every single time. The Bible tells us that Jesus paid for all of our past, present and future sins, so we can rejoice in the fact that He is faithful to forgive every time if we repent.

I sin much less these days, but I still need to repent every time I do and He is still faithful to forgive and He will continue to forgive me for the rest of my life. So I have no idea where you came up with this ludicrous idea that a Christian can lose his salvation, I should have lost mine many years ago if you were telling the truth so I can only conclude that your statement is false or a lie if you like.

Do I believe that? No.

Here is the question:

If a born again believer sins and then dies before he or she confesses his or her sin, is that person cast into the lake of fire?
"Yes" or "No"
They go to heaven if they are a born again believer. They go to hell if they are an unbeliever (not born again). Only God and not man can make that judgment.

This is not referring to ongoing belief as the grounds for salvation.
This belief is a moment in time.

As well if you believe that faith is a gift to only some you are following a Calvinist line of thought....just sayin.
God does not give us the gift of faith.
God gives us the gift of eternal life. Which means we are partakers of His divine nature.

GREAT STORY OF RESTORATION ..LIKE THE PRODIGAL SON..OR LIKE..MANY OF OUR LIVES :) BTW THIS WAS MY DEVOTIONAL TODAY.

God Used Samson, "the Player"

Scripture Reading: Judges 13

Samson was every woman's dream and every man's nightmare. He had supernatural strength, heroic bravery and the fighting spirit of a warrior. God gave him these gifts because his parents dedicated him to the Lord from his birth. In time, Samson's love for women caused him to compromise his call. When he lost his purity, he also lost the strength and power that God had given him. Chasing the pleasures of the world left him powerless, defeated and humiliated.

However, in his brokenness at the end of his life Samson rediscovered the call God had given him to liberate his people. When he used the blessings of God to serve others he changed history.

Don't chase the pleasures of the world but dedicate your life to serving God and others. No matter where you are, it's not too late. When you realize God's purpose for your life isn't just about you, He will use you in a mighty way.

Actually it is the exact opposite.

It is only through the assurance of salvation are we in a place to do anything that is pleasing to God, outside of the assurance of salvation all works become us trying to secure salvation which is an insult to the finished work of the cross.

The truth is only a few out of the many he sets out to save will be saved.

14“...many are invited, but few are chosen.” - Matthew 22:14

Election is on the basis of having faith, not on the basis of being pre-programmed ahead of time to be among the chosen. Christ will not fail to save everyone chosen for salvation through faith in Christ. That's why we are exhorted to keep on believing and not fall away:

"14For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end"-Hebrews 3:14

Only believers who continue to be believers have the promise of 100% success through Christ's ministry. So don't depart from such a sure promise.
The Bible is clear about this issue, those who God set out to save before the foundation of the world will be saved no matter how much they sinned. We know God chose murderers, fornicators and all kinds of sinners.

I back slid so many time that I lost count, I went back into the world and indulged myself in fornication every day and hard drug use and all kinds of outer sinful activity and God always forgave me when I cam back after long periods away from the Church, then spend some time in Church then I went back into the world and fully indulged in everything again and again and again and agin.

I make the prodigal son look like a Saint, but thank God His Son paid for all of my past, present and all future sins so I can rejoice in the fact that I am forgiven and justified. I sin a lot less these days because the Lord has done a great work of sanctifying me and the work will continue for the rest of my life.

Look at the verses below, and then try to tell me that a Christian can lose his salvation?

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.

Romans 8:30
and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

Ephesians 1:13-14
In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Titus 3:5
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of

regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Whenever God begins something, we have the assurance that He will finish it. Nothing will stand in the way of Him accomplishing His purpose in this world and in our lives. What God starts, He finishes, and nobody can hinder Him. Sure, delays will happen. Just remember, God is in charge of the delays as well as the progress.

You can live in disobedience to God and
“You will surely not die”

No true Christian will live disobedient to the Lord.

Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. 3 John 11

If this person has never seen God then he was never saved

Thanks for these encouraging words, they are greatly appreciated. I thank God that he liberated my from the bondage of serving sin, it took many years but that's because I felt that my lust was too powerful for me to control it. The main thing is, God was always there waiting for me and ready to forgive me every time I repented.
