Actually, they are not. I've known for some time, while only 40% of males reproduce, approximately 80% of females do. Recently, I read a DNA study that was done. It shows that only 1 male successfully reproduces for every 17 females.I think the female vs male odds are in your favor
The 40 to 80 ratio is typical for western society that is heavily influenced by Christianity, that promotes monogamy.
The 1 in 17 ratio represents the pre-Christian world, and a good part of the world today.
Either way, males don't fair well.
There are a lot of men and women that vet together WITHOUT wanting to reproduce..lol soo..take that out of the equation...
Ok..speaking for myself..i dont look at a man goggle eyeing him because i want to reproduce..couldnt at this age in my life anyway...maybe when people are in thier 20s n thinking about having families etc..its like saying people only love and marry ..have sex to reproduce...hmmmm..NOT

It still doesn't matter, because that isn't what is being discussed. You stated in post number 23 that female vs male odds are in my favor. Evidence doesn't support that statement.
Therefore, it doesn't matter what your personal motivation for marriage is.

I wonder how many of those are womanizers like the kardashian guy who had two women fighting over him. He had kids with both of them and he cheated on both of them. And I wonder how many of that 40% are deadbeat dads who skip town when the girl gets pregnant, or refuse to pay alimony. And how many are those that make more kids so they can have a bigger welfare check.. Just wondering..
I've never noticed females significantly outnumber males on this site. If I was going to guess, the opposite is the case. Then again, both of us may have a bias to explain our divergent views of the male to female ratio on this site. An actual count would be interesting.
If your belief is correct, it still doesn't matter. Females select their mate, whereas males do not. Males and females are divided roughly 50/50, yet ony 40% of males will mate, while 80% of females will.
I may try to get a thread on here, to get a head count of male v female singles.
I don't write this stuff to be confrontational, or destroy your world view. I notice many males coming on this site, writing depressing threads about how they can't find a wife. I'm hoping this information will help them understand why they are not being selected.

As far as I've read over the past few years, the 40% has held steady for the past 2000 years. The problems with deadbeat fathers is a more modern phenomenon, the cause is a whole other discussion.

You cant go forward with another woman when youre still looking "back"
And I wonder how many of that 40% are wifebeaters and harvey weinsteins and murderers... My point is that just because a man can make a baby doesn't mean he's a better man than those that can't..

Concerning my wife.... she was a solid 9 most of our marriage, that doesn't happen every day. Cut me some slack.
It has nothing to do with only 40% of males being capable of reproducing. I'm sure most can. The 40% is the males that are selected by females to mate with.
