It seem that there are some on this sight that express a lot of hate toward others.
This is very evident when people discuss politics. A lot of hate toward the president.
Even in the BDF toward those who disagree with them.

Some seriously need to examine their fellowship with the Lord.

Hi SpoonJuly, I agree with you. If fact, just like a marriage can often reveal where the husband's and wife's individual walks with the Lord are at, how we choose to treat others can be very revealing as well, especially when we take the time to consider what many of the verses in the Bible have to say (like most of the ones you see in my signature line below, in fact ).

All the years I have been here, it has been that way.

All the years that will be here after I am gone, it will be that way.

I realized long ago that the only way Christian Chat will truly be a Site for Christian Fellowship with all Members edifying God, the Church and the other Members is with the return of the Lion of Judah. But, then, there won't be any need for Christian Chat then.

Debate is often beneficial and can be a valuable part of fellowship, but the hateful spirit a few display is dangerous for all here. However, they usually do not stay long.

Pick and choose what Forums/Threads you visit/post on, and when you realize some will respond to you/your comments in a negative manner, well, that is what the "IGNORE" option is for. It can save you a lot of grief.

It would seem that many make the word hate into a emotion . To hate is to not bless, having nothing to do with anger. James informs us mans anger does not bring about the righteous desires of God . When we are angry we are not to let the sun go down or that anger or it will be the wake up call


God blesses those He has loved.

I hate, God hates and so should you. Hate is a normal healthy thing to do when it is directed at the right people or sin.

God doesn't cast sinners into hell to burn forever because He loves them. He does it because He hates them.

If we are honest we would admit that there are wicked people we hate and we also hate our own sin.

We also read that God hated Easu, so as long as hatred is directed at the right target it is good. That's my understanding, please correct me if I'm wrong and show Bible verses to support your view.

The difference here is, this is speaking of believers hating on one another.

God does not hate His children.
Believers should never hate each other, or treat them in such ways as sometimes happens here.

Jesus certainly was not kind the Jewish leaders who did not recognize him as the Christ. He was however only defending himself.

not everybody hates their own sin or there would not be so awful much of it ... especially in Christians

I don't see a difference. This is a discussion forum. I think it's boring when all they do is go around saying how good God is, when we all know that. He can't be anything else. And a lot of the threads are boring to me. I don't consider myself being rude or hateful. I'm just blunt. I don't hate anyone, even if they don't like me. Jesus is on my mine twenty four seven. So I always like a good discussion.

It seems to me that "hate", "rudeness", "unkindness", etc., are all at least implied in the list of things above (things that proceed forth from the heart), because when they are directed at people, they all stand in stark contrast to "love" (which is always patient and kind, and never acts in an unbecoming manner toward others .. 1 Corinthians 13:1-8a).

We need to look at the context of Malachi etc. when saying God hated Esau.

"And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness."
The same is quoted in Romans 9.

Malachi and the apostle Paul use the name “Esau” to refer to the Edomites, who were the descendants of Esau.

Why would God hate the Edomites? It's believed Herod was an Edomite. Most Arabs have Edomite blood in them, and so do some Jews. Palestinian's like to say they are Esau's descendants. A large part of the Arab Islamic world which is a mixture of many tribes and clans have Edomite blood in them.
God hates the nation of the Edomites and I can see why.

On several occasions, Jesus called the Pharisees hypocrites.
He was rude and unkind to them and he hated their doctrine, but he did not hate them.

I see your point, but I believe there is a big difference in hate and rudeness.
