I am curious as to what the wheel within a wheel in Ezk 1 means. Can anyone teach me?

I have a guess, and I have no scripture reference to back it up. I am wondering if the large wheel represents all of God's children, and the smaller wheel within the larger represents The church that Christ set up. Could it compare with the two gates in Matt 5? Just wondering, and would appreciate some help.

I don't believe it is necessary to make metaphors out of those wheels in Ezekiel, which are associated with the cherubim surrounding the throne of God. It is quite clear that they are associated with the throne of God, but it would be pure speculation to try and give them some sort of spiritual meaning.

To the title only: You are far better off than I my friend since I am curious a to what all of Ezekiel means................it has always left me stymied.

My faith says to me, all of the Word is true, so, wait for the understanding from the Holy Spirit, either in this age or after the Great and Glorious Day of the Lord..............God bless you and your understanding and wisdom now and to come, amen.

From the description it appears to be a gyroscope to aid in navigation.

Thanks for your comments. There is a lot, plus more, that I do not understand of the inspired bible, but am very thankful of what he has revealed to me. I do understand that we should attempt to learn all we can of the entire bible because it is all important, being God's word. I, also, do know that we can not understand any of it unless the Spirit reveals.

Thanks for your comment. I think that all the books of the bible are important, but am thankful for what the Spirit has revealed so far.

I consider the book of Ezekiel to be the Sci-Fi book of the bible. Some of it is very strange. Of course, the writer was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write this book so it definitely serves God' purpose whatever it may be in regards to wheels and chariots.

Thank you so much for your comments. Believe me! There is a lot of Ezekiel that I do not understand, and also the rest of the books.

I've heard it being preached as being like a wheel and hub. Which is like two wheels the hub being the inner wheel that operates the outer wheel. The wheel wont turn the way it should with out the hub (inner wheel) turning it.

The Spirit being the hub and us being the wheel. If we are led by the Spirit then we are doing what God wants. We are said to be, being moved by the inner wheel (Spirit) not the outer wheel (ourselves).

I've heard a few songs about it as well...can't remember all of them but one says something like I feel a wheel turning in a wheel...symbolizing Jesus or the Holy Spirit moving within us.

This is what I've always heard about it anyhow.

The truth is as a wheel within a wheel. Just when we think we understand something...there is something deeper going on. There is something we see and something we don't see. There is a whole world that is invisible to us. The spiritual world is the inner wheel; it is invisible. The outer wheel is the reality we know through our carnal senses, the temporal world. So then the world exists on 2 planes....the visible and the invisible.

But this also carries into other things regarding the truth....which is always on 2 levels.


Righteousness is a wheel within a wheel. There are 2 levels of righteousness...one at our level ...by obedience to God's will...and one at God's level...the righteousness of God, which is to be risen with Christ. Righteousness (in the human capacity) is the outer wheel that men can see...but there is a righteousness that comes from God...the inner wheel that comes from a direct contact with God's holiness. .

The "heat" that the righteousness we can perceive in this world comes from, is produced by the "fire" of holiness from within. There is fire and the heat it gives off.

There is the body and blood of Jesus Christ. The body is the outer wheel...the blood the inner life. One is the outer works...and the inner is the faith that produces the works.

Our life is hid with God....but it is also visible for men to see.

we have that God set two heavenly bodies in place ordained for the keeping of time, the moon and sun, and both move in elliptical orbits. the earth and moon move in paths like a wheel in a wheel, the moon spinning around the earth while the earth spins around the sun.

not that this should be the meaning of the vision, but that it may be related, both things possibly giving a picture of the same truth in type.

What are the meanings to Israel? Judgment and holiness.

For those who must find imagery there are many possibilities. Big wheel as the world and the small wheel as Israel. Big wheel as the sovereignty of God and the smaller wheel the sovereignty of man.

Indeed and the sun spins as well in the center of a spinning solar system within a spinning spiral galaxy arm that is spinning around the center of a galaxy that is spinning elliptically similar to the sun, lots of wheels for sure IMO... I'm dizzy lol
