PG rated romance novels = OK
R rated romance novels = Might be OK depends
X rated romance novels = equal to porn.

What would make a romance novel be rated PG or R or X?

NO. If you are really serious about Jesus. You will get scared and fear God. Because if you died today, you would go to hell. You tied Gods hands. There would be nothing he could do for you.
I disagree. I’m serious about Jesus but I don’t fear God. God is love so what is there to fear and my God’s hands could NEVER be tied. He literally raises the dead and makes the blind see. If sin gets us into Hell WE ARE ALL GOING!

The only one that could cast stones has nailed all our sins to the cross so if she has accepted Christ her sins won’t get her kicked out the club right? Or do I have Grace all wrong. (Not really asking)

I'm married and my husband works away from home weeks at a time. So lately I have been watching porn to satisfy my sexual desires. I know that it's wrong but it's so hard to give up.I feel at times that it's better to watch porn that physically cheat on him with someone else. I'm so ashamed to talk to anyone else about it. Has anyone else had a problem with watching porn?
Hey! determinedBeing... PTL!
There is a two-fold process of transformation that deals with the craving for each of the sins that one has given into before Jesus or while stumbling. Firstly; the Holy Spirit makes scripture come alive to the believer and writes it into their heart and mind: which is what makes the NT work, where the OT failed due to the weakness of the flesh. Secondly; the Spirit ministers the blood of the new covenant onto that believer, renewing the conscience, and making it possible for that believer to even forgive his or her own self and put it into the past where it can be forgotten.(Heb chap 9 and 10)

So, the milk of the word is used by the Holy Spirit to persistently minister righteousness through repentance to our consciences until we are no longer babes; but instead, are grown into those who by reason of use of the milk, become full age, able to discern the good and the evil in what they're about to do. The believer becomes able to sleep the sleep of the innocent and face the new day with a clear conscience. For the Spirit to minister the milk of the word of righteousness to a believer's heart and mind, the believer must take the time and put the Lord's word into their mind. For an example only: 5 chapters/day = 30 fold of growth; 10 chapters/day = 60 fold; and 20 chapters/day = 100 fold of growth.

My final thought is that the illumination of scripture by the Holy Spirit comes to us: Is 28:9,10 "here a little, and there a little;" which means that it is better to have devotions of 5 chapters a day, rather than 50 chapters once a week.
Maranatha!

Proverbs 9:10 10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Yes you do have Grace all wrong. Romans 6:1-2
6: 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Nope I am pretty confident that I have Grace completely right. What you have done above is what many in my life have done before. Quote a verse and I would take it as fact because “that’s what the Bible says” but Thank God he has grown me in my wisdom to know better.

Most often people take the Bible out of text becaus they want to put our today’s definition on the words of way way yesterday. When the Bible was being written the word “fear” had several meanings.

Fear of the Lord can be defined as “the continual awareness that our loving heavenly Father is watching and evaluating everything we think, say, and do. Godly fear isn’t the same as fear of a tyrant, or a dictator. We don’t need to fear His anger, unless we fear punishment due to a bad conscience and impenitent heart because of sin. (Romans 2: 5-9)

To fear God is absolute reverence and awe for an Almighty God, the Creator of all things

So do I fear in that definition; Godly fear...YES, but I got the impression you weren’t thinking that; more tyrant role. I apologize if I misread it.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” ( 1 John 4:18)

No you didn't misunderstand. I do mean too fear, be scared to sin. I don't know about you, but when my earthly father told me not to do something, I was scared to do it because I knew that would be my behind. God is the same way, but he can let you go to hell. This sin is not covered under grace.
If you are really serious about God, you have to resist the devil. Don't do it. Each time that urge comes resist it, then finally it will leave. It will still come back, but you have to resist it, and it will leave. Under Grace does not mean we can keep sinning.

I can not relate. I never feared my earthly father but I respected him and trusted him and loved him with all my being. I had the pleasure of growing up with both of my parents and watching and sharing my dad with most of the fatherless kids in my town. He would just make sure to be a part of their lives. I’m not just saying this because he is my dad but he amazed me! He could speak life and light to the darkest places and if he raised his voice it was laughter! But when he spoke everyone listened because you knew your life was about to change...

Now as an adult I understand what he was modeling for me...good works. He did good works not for praise or get something back he just loved God so much and was humbled by the sacrifice that my dad shared his gift as “Thank you God”

So for me growing up I wanted to be just like my dad. Trust me when I got it wrong I was correct and wrapped in his arms after and was told “you are still loved by both your earthly and Heavenly Father” I would do childhood 100 times over!

Unfortunately the good good Father took him home in 2010 but I never knew how my dad impacted others until 3300+ people showed up for his service in a little town with only 2 stop lights! 😆

Even if you didn't fear him surely you didn't want to disappoint him. So you would want one obey his rules. If they don't keep you in line, and let you do whatever you want, good or bad, they don't love you. Our in heaven loves us, and it disappoint him when we keep sinning.

I’m confused...you speak as if you are not a sinner? I have been redeemed by God, I have confessed that Jesus is my Lord and Savior but I fall short of the glory EVERYDAY and my testimony is that when I do I give all glory to God that sent his son to save me and I can share the good news to others that my Heavenly Father do not expect me to be perfect but expects me to keep trying and he will and FOREVER love me!

Romans 8:38-39

Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

So what is your thoughts about repentance? As new believers, which I am not, they are going to trip, stumble and fail over and over and they will ask for forgiveness

What is the thread about? I'm not going to lie and say it's ok. MrsDetermined, I think you need to talk to your husband and ask him to get a job in town. If he can't then you will have to discipline yourself. God can't except it. He just can't.
You can ask for forgiveness, but if you are intentionally doing it, you can't fool him.

Wow! I wasn't responding to the OP in the thread as I already did four pages ago, I was responding to your statement. We all sin no matter if we try to or not. You have said you aren't perfect so I am sure everyone would appreciate a little humility and know we all fall short.
