Eph 1:
13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

When a person hears the gospel and believes it, he is sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit. That's what makes a person a Christian, someone who is born again of the Holy Spirit. It doesn't make him a mature Christian, that takes time... But EVERY Christian is born of the Holy Spirit.

is this the same as the baptism of the holy spirit?

can you read this really quickly and tell me what do you think? https://www.allaboutgod.com/baptism-in-the-holy-spirit.htm
Really quickly? :)

OK, I scanned it. I agree with some of it and disagree with some of it.

The filling of the Holy Spirit is how He empowers and controls us
The Holy Spirit does not control us. We have free will.

I believe that God would like every Christian to speak in tongues (1 Cor 12:7; 1 Cor 14:5).

Baptism in the Holy Spirit can be defined as: at the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit places a believer into permanent union with Christ and with other believers in the Body of Christ.
Generally agree. Baptism in the Holy Spirit happens at the moment of salvation. All Christians have the gift of the Holy Spirit. It's what makes us Christians.

I've encountered some but I'm not afraid of them and we as believers should never be afraid of them. They're actually powerless unless we give them power over us.
A Christian with the Holy Spirit cannot be possessed by a demon. How they influence us is they send a fiery dart in the form of an evil thought into our heads. All we have to do is quench it with our faith (Eph. 6:16). The only way they could have power over us is if we accepted that evil thought, and then harbored and fed it until it became sin. :)

I said my mistake lol What do you want me to do? Go scream it on the mountain top ? haha but you're right. That was an error on my part. Mary magalene was not the mother of Jesus.

didn't see where you 'fixed' it

which mountain would you like to scream it on?

In your opinion, what's the worse part of experiencing spiritual warfare?

ok well first I would like to state I do not agree with the 'looking for trouble' mentality that some folks have wherein they fancy themselves demon hunters or believe their calling is to battle with demons

I think there are times when anyone can experience needing to deal with the demonic...from a work situation to an attack on a legitimate ministry

I see this as something no one is exempt from, but not as a major part of their life...if it is, then that might for a time be 'the worst part'

in my experience, demons like to put pressure on people and create situations that may have no reality in there basis...like casting aspersions on people and subtle twisting of scripture...that leads to heresies in the end...we have plenty examples of how someone can go off the deep end...Bible calls it 'doctrines of demons'

like Paul said, 'you are not ignorant of the devil's schemes'...only thing is, far too many are

again, the emphasis should be on truth...renew your mind with God's word and the fact that Jesus has already defeated the foe

I guess in the final analysis, the worst part would be giving up...I think concentrating on Jesus victory is the answer and not digging into everything demon a person can read about

I guess the above illustrates I've had a little to do with this type of thing

Can a babe in christ (one without the spirit of God) cast out a devil?
Also, my mistake concerning Mary. I just looked into. My not afraid to admit I made a mistake. And, another thing 1/3 of the angels in heaven were cast down to the earth. That's 1/3 of a number we do not know. And, no one should ever go after a demon unless the enemy is attacking them or a loved one or if the holy spirit gives them permission. Then its very vital to be sensitive to him during that time.
say what now?

ALL Christians are sealed with the Holy Spirit...so what do you mean a babe in Christ, one without the Spirit of God?

frankly ALL Christians are supposed to know how to deal...see my comments on Paul above

thing is, the emphasis these days is not really on basic Christianity 101

I don't think someone has to be 'juiced up' on dealing with demons to deal with them

no one should ever 'go' after a demon period. they will come around soon enough all by themselves if they are going to

so if being harrassed (your word attack) yes a person should know how to deal...we don't need permission...we already have the armor. you don't stand by and watch to see how bad it's gonna get o_O

The evil one's minion are in a hierarchy below him and their abilities decrease at the lower levels. So that changing staffs into snakes requires one of the few higher level demons or we'd see a lot more of that kind of thing. I suspect that the lowest level of demon ranking interact emotionally in their attacks, rather than verbally. When we are being demonized, they use the same voice that we talk to ourselves in. When You think, how can I think something like that at a time like this," its probably a demon who'll then accuse you of being unsaved for thinking something like that. As far as a cure, I have a couple of suggestions. As you mentioned see Jam 4:7,8 "Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw neigh to God and he will draw nigh to you, cleanse your hands, ye sinners; purify your hearts, ye double minded." Turn to the Lord in repentance which is how we submit to the Lord. Resist the evil one and his minion. And keep resisting. Jesus gave the church authority over all the power of the enemy. Their gates are a defensive weapon and will not prevail against us. With our faith in God's word we are able to order them away. Faith grows with use and scripture and if unable to resist now, keep resisting because submitting yourself to God and drawing near to the Lord who is found in the scriptures by the Spirit's ministry, are the very things we do to have our faith to grow.
First; Ps 22:3 tells us the Lord inhabits our praises. The evil one and his minion know in a way that we never will while absent from the Lord in these bodies of flesh, what its like to have the Lord inhabit our praises and the glory of the Lord's presence will drive them way in torment. Prayer and fasting go a long way in successfully dealing with the enemies strongholds.
Second; according to 1 Jn 4:1-3 we are to try the spirits whether they are of God. No spirit can say that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, but by the Spirit of God. So just ask the demons that are attacking you, has Jesus Christ come in the flesh, and you may very well find that they slowly one by one depart with a gradual lessening of your torment. Just ask them over and over, "Has Jesus Christ come in the flesh? Well, has he? What, I can't hear you?"
I've come up with this reason for why the Lord would allow demons to exist along beside us at all: The evil one and his minion have no forgiveness; no second chance. Like Adam they were made perfect, but unlike Adam, they didn't have any outside force working from inside to do evil. Its only fair that we get a chance for forgiveness because we've had evil attacking us from the inside where they did not.
Very interesting post. I have a lot of lucid dreams. In dreams you feel the energy of another whether they are good or evil. We naturally do this in dreams which is why we feel close to one dream character and afraid of another. I'm not sure if they are demons though.

Quite often they will tell me thoughts that I've had that were incorrect though. I'll know how foolish the belief was after hearing it from them. When I become lucid in a nightmare I try to talk to the nightmare character and they are usually just trying to kill me still. Lol you feel pain in a dream which I did not expect. I will try asking them if Jesus came in the flesh though to see if they can answer me. They act like regular people though so I never know what they're going to say or do. They always surprise me. Sometimes they do say "I am god." And such but the energy is not right and their eyes constantly change..like they can't keep a consistent form. If they want a blood sacrifice or such I tell them no I'm a Christian and usually an alarm or something goes off and I get out of the situation. But they will mess with me and say I'll be waiting for you and such. Also when I say help me Jesus I wake up instantly.

I'd go for the 'help me Jesus' first

all demons lie. all the time.

thankfully, I'm not having these kinds of dreams and I don't think you should 'play' with them

There are seasons in a Christian's life when they will have to fight spiritually. Satan and his agents are cunning and will stop at nothing to see us fail. That's why its important for us to put on the armor of God through faith daily. And, I went through what seemed like the worst season of my life. I had to learn to fight spiritually (praying more, reading more, learning how to use the word of God, using my authority). It was difficult. Some days I felt like giving up but God would speak and encourage me. During that difficult time, I learned some of the tricks of the kingdom of darkness. One of the most profound things that I learned is that demons are legalist. They sit and wait for us to open a door. Any doors can be opened through what we say, our behavior, and most of the times its through ignorance. Then, I learned that the enemy has no power unless we give it to him. If no door is opened, then how can they rule? They simply cannot. Just like a virus they need a host to live and do their dirty work through.

And, the enemy doesn't just attack ministries, he attacks people health, their identity, finances, family etc. Anything to make them stumble and fall. And, the worse part of spiritual warfare is not knowing who you are Christ. If people knew who they were during the battle (victorious), then they would not be moved by everything that comes their way.

I know what lucid dreaming is. I've experienced it before. Its scary.

No, not juiced up but prepared yes. Sensitive to the holy spirit's leading, of freaking course lol And there people who seriously don't know how to deal with spiritual warfare. If it were so, then we'd see more battles won.
