And this is right up there.

The sun can ONLY be directly overhead between about 23.5 degrees North (the Tropic of Cancer) and 23.5 degrees South (the Tropic of Capricorn). Britain is completely outside that range. The sun has NEVER been observed directly overhead (at nadir; exactly 90 degrees from the horizon) at any point outside the tropics. By the way, only the northern part of South Africa is within this range.
