Local churches is not in the Bible, it's what man has made it.
God established the church after penticost..MAN made it what it is today..

They to the church In that city. There was only one. there is only one body of Christ.Hi there. What about all the letters in the New Testament sent to the churches in different areas? I thought they would have been local to the people living there.
Hi There. I am so bad at this being a full time working Mum and my hubby with type 1 diabetes.I tend to do cooking and shopping as well as the washing on Sunday and getting everyone ready for school . That is after church. So bad. I have been thinking about it for some time now, how to stop work on Sunday. I think it is about being organised and making sure my heart in the right place. I should be living for Jesus first. He should come first. Also a lovely, family walk would be good instead of me rushing round. Thank you for your comment of encouragement. ;-)Thank you..i posted this scripture yesterday as well...a lot of churches ALSO have Saturday services..but how MANY of us just REST IN THE LORD on that day? Dont do laundry..dont cook etc..or is that an area of contreversy as well?
I am not taking sides but feel MOST people are MISSING THE POINT..OUR God..the one that came to save BOTH JEW AND GENTILE isnt worried about POLITICAL CORRECTNESS but each of our HEARTS..
Right there is only one body of Christ All the people in the body of Christ are all on the same page. All these local churches are divided. Mark 3:24-25 24If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.General Booth, founder of the Salvation Army sad no defence is necessary for preaching in public. But it would take long arguement to prove that a man who never preaches beyond the walls of his meeting house has done his job.I have long favored public worship and baptisim. God didn't invent churches, man did. God didn't create man for church either. Saving sermons for the saved defeats the purpose of the sermon. Communions, weddings etc. that's different. We should want people to see us happy and blessed or what's the point?
It is amazing how many people still rely on their heart to guide them in spite of what scripture says about it.
Jer 17v9, The heart is 'deceitful above all things and 'desperately wicked........
Since GOD is the only one to read it correctly it is HIS WORD that will lead us into truth - through HIS Spirit....not anything our human emotions conjure up which the devil relies on.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Hebrew 10 24-25
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Ex 20, 8-11
As you know, we have changed our day of rest in our modern societies to Sunday, so we keep Sunday holy as the seventh day even though it is the first day in our working week. I don't think the Lord minds which day it is as long as we make one day holy to rest and to recharge our batteries and to assemble and build each other up for the week ahead. That is what church is for, building up.We should go to church prepared and with the expectancy of God using us, if it is with a word of encouragement, picture or a song or to great, serve coffee or put out the chairs. We should not get hung up on the name of the day but make sure we take a day to rest and assemble with the saints.
In the new Testament the new church, 'The Way', met every day in the temple courts. They then went back to their homes to hold small meetings and to break bread with each other. I love having church at home as well as the larger meeting , which are for teaching. The smaller meetings were to discus what was told in the larger meetings. That is why the women, who were before never allowed to attend, suddenly were allowed and had a lot of questions to ask. They were told to wait until they got home, to ask their husbands, as the main assembly in the temple had to have some order and flow.
just a quick piece of advice. please do a little quick research on the Hebrew roots movement, the seventh day advent church, the assembly of called out believers.
that will help you understand where beta, and some others, are coming from.
The body of Christ were not suppose to go modern. It is still suppose to be one church in that city. Pastors were suppose to shepard there flock. Meaning make sure they have what they need, and they helped each other. They didn't have to spend all of their time studying, because the Holy Spirit was their teacher. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. It was after Jesus was crucified. That's when the body of Christ was started. His body is not a whole lot of little bodies put together. They all have different doctrine. How can they be the body of Christ.God established the church after penticost..MAN made it what it is today..
people like ralph and beta blame the catholic church for anything they do not like. the catholic church has done some bad things, but believers were already meeting on the first day of the week . the catholics just made it official.
now, as far as Ralph's church goes, he has stated himself that they judge a person's behavior, and decide who can come and who can't based on that.
just ask him. he will brag about it.
WRONG! Most people have Sunday off, We start work on Mondays now. Didn't God object when David wanted to build a temple? If tents were good enough for the allmighty, why aren't they good enough for us? The temple courts were much more Biblical and getting all dressed up to look good for others only feeds our vanity. God knows what we look like. It's an equally ridiculos reverse of sackcloth and ash. Just look normal. That includes hats for women. They no longer wear them in public in the USA much. Culture has changed. If women need to wear hats then men should wear robes too! I hear ya but many won't. Because I understand the difference between acting out of love when I feel angry. We today have become numb and many can't seperate the two.I never said anything bout heart guiding them. If we are CHRISTIANS GOD LIVES IN OUR HEARTS and souls...whats in those two places often is manifested in our minds and actions.
Id be more worried bout the person who acts out on FEELING more than the heart..2 different things..
It's the showing off part I object to.I dress up out of respect..not vanity..if God allows me to have nice clothes..of course im going to wear them WHENEVER worshipping the King! Especially since social nudity is not accepted ( God knows what i look like butt naked too..lol)

Your attitude (no doubt well-meaning) seems to say ''who needs God...we can do this and we can do that and God will NOT MIND '' This comes from the fact that you ignore HIS instructions telling you to assemble before Him ON THE SABBATH Lev 23. All christians seem to think they can do as they please and God won't mind when it comes to His Commandments.
We are told we are soldiers of God.....now if the Commanding Officer gives a command do we just ignore it or chang it to our liking ??? TRY IT and you would soon find yourself in serious trouble. Why should God be any different ? We are supposed to be in training for HIS great purpose.....pleasing SELF is not an option. He is of course PATIENT until we learn OBEDIENCE Heb 5v8,9, but if we don't you know what will happen.
