Is it biblical to attend Church every Sunday?

There is a passage in the Bible which tells us to attend gatherings of the saints.. It does not state that these gatherings must happen on any particular day or at any particular place at any particular time.. It does not even say we must do this once a week.. It was a general guide for us to fellowship .. This is what i can do every day when i come into this forum..

Fellowshipping is just everyday living, just being around others with the same interests. You don't have to talk about Jesus, because he is in your heart and your mind at all times. You don't have to do anything to try to remind yourself because he's always there.

I dont quite understand you. I don't know what experience you've had has it relates to the church. Maybe a bad experience. But that doesn't mean it's unbiblical to attend church.

No one has hurt me, I have been asked that before. I came out of the church because I felt like empty. Something was missing. It was hard to come out, but I had too. After I come out, then I started to learn things I never knew before.

OK I see what you mean.

You are unable to find a suitable church, and rather stay away than attend one you're not comfortable with.

That's an individual decision. So your question then should be:

Is it a sin to not attend church?

But when you say its unbilical, it suggest that you are advising every christian to stop attending.

But if someone has found a good, Bible teaching church then there is no reason for them not to attend if they are able to.

No, church is not an option. If you enjoy it., continue. I'm not trying to advise any one to come out. But there may be some who knows what I am talking about.

You started this thread with the question, "Is it biblical to attend church every Sunday". Given that church "is not an option" for you, it appears that you are trying to justify your position.

Hebrews 10:25 is about gathering as a body of believers for mutual edification. If you can't accept other believers because you think they are all deceived, I would suggest that the problem is not with them. I've met many people with that attitude, and in every case, they are either church-hurt, socially/emotionally maladjusted, or have an inflated sense of their own enlightened understanding. The latter category are quick to denigrate others as inferior, dimwitted, not understanding "the truth", or something similar.

So yes, I do know what you're talking about, but it isn't healthy.

What is your problem. This seems to be really eating at you for some reason. If I have said something that offended you I apologize., but I still believe what I believe. This is how I came to this. I felt a very big void deep down inside. Something was missing. I wanted to know Jesus like I wanted to breath. And that church was holding it back. I had to give up my ways, my walk, my talk and my religion. That was my religion. It was not Gods. When I gave it up, I felt like someone had died. I was mourning for some reason. Then I realized the person that died was me. My soul humbled itself. And my human spirit woke up. You may think that is a joke, but it is the truth. I made a whole lot of mistakes and God knocked me around at many turns. When the Holy Spirit teach you, he does it literally. No one need to tell you how to do anything , because the holy Spirit lead you into it. I have struggled, I have suffered I have had a hard time , at times. These things happen to show me the ways of the world and to bring you out of it. Then I started to fear God. And I stay away from sin that I am conscious of. So for me Church is not an option, I will not go backwards.

How did that congregation hold you back from knowing Jesus?

so, in other words, you think you know everything there is to know, you need not sit under any one's teaching. and you do not sin.


typical Bible-thumper mentality . nothing new under the sun.

They didn't hold me back. I couldn't go any farther than where I was. I knew there was more than that. I felt a great void. The people in the church had nothing to do with it. It was all within me. My desire to know Jesus.

No I didn't say I know everything, but I don't need to be taught by a man, the holy spirit will take me into all truth. John 16:13 13But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

A church also is learning..teaching..worship and fellowship..many dont get that extent from talking to others..listening to music or having devotions in our daily lives. Dont think the Bible wouldve talked about the establishment and necessity of the church if it WASNT a necessity..

God the Father..Jesus the Son and the Holy spirit..comforter and guide..trinity..theyre all the same..do different things..but 1 in the same. Just like..me...i wear a "daughter hat".."mom hat" and "sister hat"..those are 3 different things but all in me.

It doesn't talk about church. It says fellowshipping. They didn't have Bibles then.

What about..Mathew 28:19..Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

WE as people are supposed to TELL other people ..not just leave it up to fate for them to hear bout Jesus
