lol Chronologically this technically is the first one in the series despite the series starting in the late 80s for the NES. The time line is soooo confusing they released a book explaining it. But there's always a Link and of course Zelda. And most of the time a Ganon. Most of the games are E to E10 meaning there mostly set for the kid audience. But honestly the adult fans probably outnumber the kids lol

Despite being called The Legend of Zelda the main focus is on Link. Although in every game you can name him what you like the second game that came out in series named him Link in the title thats what he's been called since. Zelda is almost always a princess and needs rescuing but in recent years they've changed it up a bit making her a much bigger part of the story
