The Constitution makes clear that it is Congress' role to raise tariffs not the President. This is taxation without representation and is the very definition of tyranny.

I would not say they are illegal but unconstitutional. For the past 100 years of the progressive movement led by Democrats and the Democratic party, Congress has given up more and more of its authority to the executive branch. The Democrats are really to blame and RINO Republicans (Republicans In Name Only). If you recall in the last Presidential debates, both Trump and Hillary were arguing over who was going to be the toughest trade war starter. The tariffs are an illegal act by Trump imposed on everyone under the lie that it is a nation security issue. It wasn't a major security issue before, but the imposition of tariffs has had a negative impact on national security. Trump and the republicans are to blame.
Farmers go bankrupt.
The international markets that caused the demand, that kept prices high enough to make higher profits, are gone forever and the farmer will take the biggest hit. There will be significant increases in machinery, parts, and materials, because none of those products purchased are made in the USA anymore, they are all imported. So between the increase in cost (25%) and the loss of major markets, thousands of farms will go bankrupt. This will lead to higher prices for the consumer.
Nations that purchased the products, have found other nations to provide the products at a cheaper price, due to the agreements that were made before Trump. The USA had agreements in place that worked, perfect?, no, but better than the illegal tariffs that Trump and the republicans maintain.
The great trouble is that things will never be as good as they were for the farmers before Trump imposed the illegal tariffs. The markets are gone, and the recovery will be long, if we ever recover.
--------
The republicans that promised to defend the farmers, this nation, and the people who voted for them, hide like little mice from Trump.
You would think, that the republican farmers who elected these republican congress people would be screaming about going bankrupt.
You would think that the Republican congress people would be screaming about the ILLEGAL TARIFFS that are hurting the people that voted for them.
But no, they pass non-binding resolutions that don't mean anything.
They obstruct with justice in the matters of a RUSSIAN SPY RING. Ryan, Nunes, and Gowdy. Why? Why? Why? Are they pals of Czar Putin also? (They are friends of Russian/NRA money)
The republican congress people are more loyal to Trump than to the farmers who elected them.

That couldn't be any dumber, how is Canada or the UK, or almost every country on Trump's list a national security threat?
There are other points in those links as well. That couldn't be any dumber, how is Canada or the UK, or almost every country on Trump's list a national security threat?
Can't you see how stupid that sounds to claim Canada has forced the US into a state of emergency? Trump was right when he said he could murder someone in cold bold and his supporters would still support anything he says and does. There are other points in those links as well.
The United States of America has been in a state of emergency , a declared state of emergency, for decades. U.S. Code
Wow! You really don't know what you're talking about. Can't you see how stupid that sounds to claim Canada has forced the US into a state of emergency? Trump was right when he said he could murder someone in cold bold and his supporters would still support anything he says and does.
How many businesses did he run into the ground too? Don't forget about them. There's no valid basis for a Christian to "be against Trump."
Trump has been under attack since before he gained the office. Think of the alternative that was running on the Left's ticket. It is from that side of the aisle that the opposition pursues Trump even now when he is in the office. And all their charges against him have been proven to be lies.
Hillary wrote a book lamenting on why she lost the election to Trump. She blamed everyone but Trump and herself.
Trump is a businessman who's looking at this country as the corporation it is when he seeks to bring it back from the brink the Left has pointed it toward for years.
You think you know what you are talking about claiming Canada is trying to destroy the US as a national threat? One has to be smoking dope to think that is true.Wow! You really don't know what you're talking about.
The only one that insists on interjecting Canada into this thread is you. We'll discontinue this back and forth now since you're resorting to personal attack that does nothing to overturn the fact you don't know what you're talking about. Your objective is to slam Trump. But Liberal bias news sources aren't credible when it comes to actual facts they fail miserably. Only lies attack Trump. And that's a weak immoral offense. You think you know what you are talking about claiming Canada is trying to destroy the US as a national threat? One has to be smoking dope to think that is true.
You must be living under a rock to not know of Trump's trade war attacks on Canada. The only one that insists on interjecting Canada into this thread is you. The President of the United States is not running a business. Nor is he running a country or running the world. His job, according to the Constitution, is only to execute the laws passed by Congress. He is not our king or the king of the world. Read the Constitution. It says it is not his job to arbitrarily put tariffs on industries from other countries. You might just as well as had Hillary as President who promised to be a tyrant doing the same.I really don't think this is relevant. Yes, Trump is a businessman and yes he has had companies fold underneath him but according to the ratio his businesses overall has proved to be a success. If he was a horrible businessman he would be broke and the truth is, he's worth a whole lot of money. If we look at the United States since he took office, the unemployment rate has dropped and companies are hiring bringing money into households that really did need it. I believe Trump is doing the best job he can under the circumstances brought against him by the left wingers.
Article II does not give the President power to enact tariffs.Tariffs are perfectly constitutional.
They're also mostly bad for the economy.
Years ago Congress voted to give the president the power to impose tariffs so therefore a president can unilaterally impose tariffs without the consent of Congress. What Trump is doing, while perhaps unwise, is very much in the scope of his authority regarding tariffs and therefore constitutional. The Constitution makes clear that it is Congress' role to raise tariffs not the President. This is taxation without representation and is the very definition of tyranny.
