I believe that I have indeed given Jewel the welcome speech. It is always a good thing to welcome a new member to our thread. I called this thread the Island of Misfit Toys the other day and slave took exception to that for some strange reason.
The kittens are doing very well, considering the rough start they had. Consuela had to have an emergency C-section, her first kitten had anasarca and was severely deformed and bloated and was stillborn. Kitten #4 has anasarca also, but not as bad, she seems to be a feisty little fighter.
I think she'll make it. They all have been nursing nonstop since they were born and are steadily gaining weight, so yayyy.. Kitten #2 (white collar) is a little tortie female. Kitten #3 (green-ish collar) is a classic tabby- tuxie male, and kitten #4 (purple collar) is a tortie-tabby female. Kitten #1, the one who crossed the Rainbow, was a torbie-tabby female, and was bloated so much that she was 3 times the size of these guys.. The vet techs who saved them, have the honor of naming them.

The one that died was named Mercedes. That's Spanish for "mercy". Personally I hope the others get named Grace, Miracle and Courage..

This new fan is on "high" AND oscillating and I can barely feel any air from it. 
I've got FOUR fans on right now. It should'nt take this many fans to cool down a small room..

Try putting some ice cubes in front of the fan. When they start to melt you will have a cooling mist. I am inside with the A/C and had to put on a sweat shirt. Our icemaker stopped working a few months ago but we have these little blue ice cube trays. Blue is my favorite color, then red but that is hot stuff.
How about I just stand in the shower and dump ice water over myself? lol

I am retired, but I work on my book. It is all done with editing and it's in the design phase right now.
