JESUS fulfilled the law and our spirits were made perfect by grace —->through faith,JESUS Is the vine and we are the branches or members of the body receiving sustenance from the vine and displaying spiritual fruit.
When It comes to the flesh we would be serving sin but GOD looks at the heart and thats the part of us that was made perfect,By The Way,grace does not teach a person to live unGODly.
Paul wrote,by the mercies of GOD present your bodies a living sacrifice.

What is Grace? Unmerrited favor is mercy....But Grace! Grace is the empowering PRESENCE of God in your life, which empowers you to do that which God has for you to do.

What is grace? Specifically, what is God's Grace?
Grace is much different than Justice and Mercy:

- Justice is getting the bad that we deserve. (getting exactly what we deserve, which in our case is death)
- Mercy is NOT getting the bad that we deserve. (again, death)
- Grace is getting good that we do not deserve. (eternal life, plus all the good that God wants to give us)

When the Holy Spirit (The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus - Rom. 8:2) sees that the heart of the Believer is exhibiting and maintaining Faith exclusively in Christ Jesus, and the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won, the life of Jesus Christ (who is "GRACE") is then manifested through the Holy Spirit in the Believers life.
This is how "GRACE" works. This is how you walk in the Spirit. This is how when sin abounds, "GRACE" abounds much more. This is how you become a living sacrifice that is pleasing and acceptable to God. This is how you put on the full armor of God. This is how the Believer fights the good fight of faith and stay in Christ death, burial, and resurrection. This is how the denial of self works. This is how you lose your life and gain your life in Christ. This is how you pick up your cross daily and follow Christ. This is how you become a Disciple of Christ. This is what it means to have sanctification peace and justification peace (peace with God). This is the only way we grow in "GRACE" and receive blessings from God (actually God doesn't bless us, He blesses Jesus whom He is well please - and we receive all the benefits of this resurrection life). God no longer wants to see us. He wants to see the Believer in the Blood of Jesus until death or we receive our glorified bodies.
Every Christian trusts the Lord and believes Him in some capacity. The trouble is, most do not trust Him or believe Him correctly.
You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:82
WHAT IS THE TRUTH?
The Truth that the Believer must have, is that the Cross and the Resurrection, which speak of the Finished Work of Christ, pertains not only to our initial Salvation experience, but as well to our everyday Victory over the world, the flesh, and the Devil. The Believer must understand the Truth that he was in Christ when Christ died on the Cross, was in Christ when He was buried, was in Christ when he was raised from the dead, and continues to be in Christ as He is now exalted at the Right Hand of the Father (Roman 6:3-5; Ephesians 2:6). Consequently, if Christ defeated Satan, that means the Christian has defeated Satan. If Christ atoned for all sin, then no sin can attach itself to the Believer, that is, if the Believer keeps trusting Christ. If Christ is a Law-keeper, than the Believer is a Law-keeper. If Christ is victorious, then the Believer is victorious.
The Believer must understand this, trust in this, believe this, and act upon it, even on a daily basis. This is what Jesus meant by us taking up the Cross daily and following Him (Luke 9:23).
This is the "Truth" which we must learn, act upon, and continue to act upon, which guarantees the help of the Holy Spirit.
If the Believer does not know and understand this "Truth" to simply tell him to "trust Jesus," will really not help him that much. It is the same as telling him that he must "get in the Altars." Without knowing this Truth, he won't really know why he is in the Altars.
In fact, he will be attempting to trust the Lord to do something for him, which in fact, has already been done. He will be attempting to have Faith in God for something, that's actually already taking place. He will be attempting to ask the Lord for something, which in reality has already been brought about.

What you quoted is backwards and is therefore contrary to the Gospel.
Upon believing we were sealed with the Holy Spirit as God's guarantee to us of our salvation. The Holy Spirit helps us learn and empowers us to act upon the truth. The Holy Spirit's help is not a reward or a wage for those who manage to learn and act upon the truth by their own power. If it were, then our sanctification would be a result of our own works. Paul teaches against that in Galatians.

The question is, "How much value do we place on the Offering of Christ?" Do we feel that the Cross is the answer to every question, the solution to every problem, the strength for every weakness, the life for every death, the salvation for every sin, and the health for every sickness? How you as a Believer look at the Cross, is how you value the Cross. This is very, very serious, so we should think about it very carefully.
For one to receive the proper benefits of the Cross, in other words that for which Jesus died, one must understand its proper value, and at the same time, properly understand its value.

Jesus Explains the Purpose of Speaking in Parables

11 He answered and said unto them (concerns the Lord's method of dealing with two different classes of people, those who really wanted to know God's way and those who were merely curious), Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it is not given (two categories are here presented; in which category are you?).
12 For whosoever has (and wants more), to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance (if one wills Righteousness, the Lord wills more Righteousness to them): but whosoever has not (no interest for more), from him shall be taken away even that he has (he not only loses what he could have had, but even that which he has; to those who accept the Cross, they will have even more, and to those who reject the Cross, they will lose everything, even that which they previously had).
13 Therefore speak I to them in Parables (in order to separate those who hunger and thirst for Righteousness from those who don't): because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand (that is, they do not wish to see or hear or understand; and hence by a just judgment they lose this triple moral ability).
14 And in them (those who reject the Cross [1 Cor. 1:23]) is fulfilled the Prophecy of Isaiah, which says, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive (a willing deafness, a willful blindness, and a willful dullness; this Passage is quoted in one form or the other some seven times in the New Testament [Mat. 13:14-15; Mk. 4:12; LK. 8:10; Jn. 12:39-40; Acts 28:26-27; Rom. 11:8]):
