You haven't heard of Amy Carmichael, clearly.

The attributes you list are either irrelevant or unbalanced. Physical strength has nothing to do with Christian ministry. God gives the needed strength.

I have not yet seen anyone who advocates for female leadership try to "insert" anything into Scripture. I have, however, seen that from people who argue against females in ministry.
The woman is the weaker vessel physically. Stop trying to compete with men. That is the problem with some women, they hate that they are female, but don't want to admit it. So they take it out on men.

Jesus knows all things, and when he chose all men, or may I say male, and not female, there was a very good reason for doing so.

Jesus certainly did not choose all men

this sounds like one of those 'because I said so' explanations for personal bias

so tell us...what's the very good reason you are keeping for that 'surprise' moment we have all been waiting for

oh this is a good one

you know, I don't know you very well but with comments like this one, it won't take long before you will be bracketed

what's your education level? grade 3 or possibly 4?

do you have anything intelligent to say or are you just going to go with 'I am a mysogynist'

LIKE I SAID, FIND one woman in the bible that was told to go preach the gospel. Sounds to me that some women envy the man's role.

I know the truth hurt, because slander follow just after.

yes I know how it sounds to you

do you know what misogynist means?

so you base your conclusions off of your limited exposure to the truth by the compelling argument that 'some' women are envious of men and hate men and take 'it' (the unknown quantitative 'it' of course) out on men

huh

anyway, we all know that God chose many women as the Bible informs us, so there is no need to 'find' anyone

however, you have done the favor of illustrating why this thread exists in the first place

What evidence is there to suggest that most women pastors are inadequate for the job? In what way are they inadequate?
Someone in this forum insists this phrase "when Priscilla and Aquila heard him.." proves Priscilla was a church leader and a pastor because Priscilla's name is given first (allegedly, her name is given first because she's a leader). Everyone I have ever heard defend women pastors, including women pastors themselves, sounds like a lunatic or a liar. Lunatics and liars are unqualified to be pastors. Now, I don't know if it's possible to make a biblical case for woman pastors without lying, but I haven't seen anyone attempt to do it.

It's not really an issue of if a woman is qualified. God has ordained an order in this fallen world and women who want to be pastors defy God's ordination. They are in rebellion against God.

I'm sure this will offend everyone tainted by self-righteous feminist thought, but in secular terms, women make poor leaders. You know the old joke about men not asking for directions? Women's brains are wired to prioritize following directions. Men's brains are wired to prioritize reaching the goal. In a free market, without heavy indoctrination and gender preferences for women, men naturally dominate all positions of leadership. Men have done this through all cultures in all places, and no amount of self-righteous judgement against me for saying this changes reality.

Even if a woman is qualified, even undeniably the most qualified for the job of pastor in the church, it's still wrong. It's still defiance of God's ordination. And, it still would have bad consequences. Men are already underrepresented in the pews. Churches are already too feminized. "Forces of evil"(tm) would use this qualified woman to promote a feminist agenda and corruption of the church. It's said "bad cases make bad law", but also exceptional cases also make bad law.

First, I'm not a woman, so addressing me directly with "Stop trying to compete with men" is simply silly.

Second, this has absolutely nothing to do with physical strength, as I already explained.

They were followers, serving women in need, a part of the group, but not leaders. They dared not interfere with what the apostles were doing, or question them either. They did not approach that man until he was about to leave. away from the disciples. If you can't find it in the bible, then it is not true that women was pastors, and if they were, it was to teach the women only.

Your bias is sad, your exegesis isn't even half-decent, and your arguments are ridiculous. That you would use old sexist jokes, broad-brush characterizations, and irrelevant cultural maxims to support your position indicates that you are unable to defend it from Scripture.

The thread is about "woman's role". It has turned into "can a woman preach?"

But to stay in woman's role in general, I will list these verses:

"Man is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man."
1 Cor 11:7

"I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God."
1Tm 2:9

"A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not allow a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; instead, she must be quiet."
1Tm 2:12

"Teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.
...teach young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands"

Tit 2:5

"Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.
Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands, like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord.
Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner..."

1 Peter 3:1-6

I am wondering how many women will like this post, composed of bible verses only :)))

The question was about the men on this forum teaching. "Women's Role" was just the subject matter. But obviously, quite a few men are so hard up to teach, they've certainly managed to turn this poll into a pulpit.

Well, the men on this forum can teach, preach, yell, scream, do whatever they need to do to get their points across, but I think at the end of the day, the receiver (whether man or woman) needs to go back to the Father and ask for discernment in what was said/told/advised.

I absolutely have no problem at all with the men in this forum/site who are lightly or heavily opinionated in their thoughts/ideas of what they think is right or what is right because truth be told, I am accountable for myself, and, there are two ways I like to respond, either;

1. Get mad with rage and fire back at them with how much I disagree with them (my flesh side).

Or

2. Ask the Holy Spirit to humble my heart and give me the direction and discernment on how to respond or react to what’s been said.

Now I must admit, I do struggle with the first one (hey I’m human), but we all have to face judgment with God when we die and I don’t want to be caught up in all the “should woman preach” or “what’s the woman’s role” saga.....I absolutely have no time fo dat - although I did have time to read and make reactions to most of y’all posts :p

Point is - men and women, you and I, we are all accountable to God in all our actions and words. I do however, want to clarify again and hopefully for the last time that I do not have a problem with women preaching the Gospel to the lost people of this world (let’s think and pray about our fellow missionary sisters in Christ who are right now all over the world preaching the Good News about Jesus Christ!) but I do believe that a ‘women’s role’ does not include leading a Congregation (as in being a Pastor/Minister).

Have a good day.

Are you the receiver though? (Which is probably closer to what I was asking in the first place.)

I have this incredible gift my DH marvels at. We're watching TV shows together, with big blocks of time in between segments filled with commercials. On a rare occasion I receive one, and react to it with him. Then he laughs, tells me this commercial has been on for over a year, and how come I didn't react until now? I never saw it before. I was looking at TV, even during the commercials, yet never saw the commercials. My gift. I am fully capable, and practice it often, in zoning out when the commercials are on. That makes me not a receiver. In which case, I don't have to figure out the proper reaction, because I don't see it to react.

Likewise, I find myself reacting to quite a few titles on this forum that go by like I'm watching a commercial. It is something I can tell, strictly by seeing the name of it, how long ago the first post was made, and how many pages of responses have followed it, to decide I'm not going in there to receive anything.

After Angela started talking about women preachers, I took a look again. It was on the first page. I never noticed it before. So, I never received whatever whoever was writing it wanted me to see.

So before getting to the point of receiving a message, do you decide if you want to receive it? Are you always a receiver?

I'm thinking much that has been sent wasn't worth receiving.

I'm not sure if I meant you or not either.

I did mean you when I was correcting what the thread was about.

I don't think sermonizing is "discussion," nor is sermonizing at people "flexible." And most people IRL stick with a topic, if they land on a topic, until the topic is played out. If they want to change the topic, then they form a little group on the side, instead of commandeering the larger group onto their topic. Which doesn't happen often on this "discussion" forum about the Bible.

But, I just mentioned I have this gift to ignore what I don't care to see. I've pretty much ignored any post that had personal viewpoint instead of addressing the topic. I ignored most of that last post of yours too. So, I don't know if I was talking about you too. I can tell you I wasn't thinking of you specifically when I wrote that though.
