If you believe that the Protestant Reformation was Nihilistic , then you cannot understand what was at stake when the Papacy try to dictate Liberty of Conscience .

Did Rome have the right to coerce conscience and forbid free inquiry ? Perhaps you need to reconsider and refresh you mind upon this history , how many sacrifice there lives so that you could have The Word of God in your hands.

As for america being protestant , this has not been true for quite some time . For the foundation of Protestantism is Protest , intrusion of civil magistrates along with the arbitrary authority of the church. God Word is above all such powers neither the Bishop of Rome / Papacy and his anti Christ Doctrine or any other such power can stand above this truth. America as of now celebrates the papacy birthday at the White House , and the majority of evangelicals churches today , have been persuaded to aligned themselves with the RCC and its anti Christ .

The Holy Scriptures , calls this event that are taking place , the falling away of 2 Thessalonians 2:3

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

I thought you were being silly. The cowboys sitting around the campfire when the cook breaks out a can of chili, one of them reads the label and says, "This stuffs made in New York City!" and they all got up and angrily asked "New York City?" then one said "get a rope"
 
Oh yah, I googled it. It's not a chili commercial, it's a Pace Picante Sauce commercial. Which I didn't remember. And which explains the surprise emoji when I made my remark, which was just a silly reference to the "hot" Christmas gift one year when I was a kid. It was a bar of soap on a rope. And we had just been talking about the pope so...oh never mind, I'm an idjit! :LOL:

What I see is a lot of Fundamentalism and not a lot of intellectual thought. It is pure emotional response I see. No one can take on what I am saying and simply refer to what I say as "poo", that is not an argument that is a childish response. This is a childish response.

You want people to be converted to your belief, and you do everything possible to repel people from your beliefs.

You stated in your earlier posts that you don't think the Bible is reliable, you believe it doesn't have the complete word of God. You believe it's the Bible plus mans wisdom

I consider myself a conservative, can we still be friends or are our different views irreconcilable.

I'm of the view, that Jesus finished the work of salvation on the cross so there's nothing new that we can add to the Gospel.

Also, there's nothing new in Gods universe. God has created everything and nothing more will ever be created and nothing new will ever be discovered. God never changes anything about Himself and He never changes His mind, everything remains unchanged forever.

I don't know how progressive people justify their view, that things are progressing or evolving when the Word of God says there's nothing new.

Not a problem, the thing that bugs us is that the democratic party sold out to special interests also, serving their donners instead of the majority of voters leaving the system very one sided. Capitolism without Socialism is fascisim. Socialisim without Capitolism is Communism. Both are equaly bad. We need a level field to stay on course. That's all. So we rebelled against the democratic party.

The only thing I have against Republicans is they picked an 'A' moral nincompoop to be our leader. It is not your fault I know.

I know many Catholics who are fine Christians (washed in the Blood of the Saviour) and many who are not, and likewise I know many Protestants (washed in the Blood of Jesus) who are fine Christians and many who are not...

So, the upshot of this is that ALL people need a living faith in Jesus, not something else.
