And that was my point.

NKJV

V3 states he condemns sin in the flesh. But a times a believer does walk in the flesh, if so are they condemned according to V1? They may feel so because they have walked in the flesh.

The NLT replaced flesh with nature, sinful nature which can lead confusion.
You are 100 percent correct, we all have the same fight against the flesh that Apostle Paul had. I have won some battles and there's more to go, but our security in Christ is settled forever, "no condemnation for those who are in Christ" Romans 8:1

And thank you for your "friendly" post....:)

Interesting that the following was posted.

Hebrews 10:38
38 Now the just shall live by faith;
But if anyone draws back,
My soul has no pleasure in him.”

But neglected the next verse

Hebrews 10:39
39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

Gal 4:8 was quoted.

Galatians 4:8

Fears for the Church
8 But then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are not gods.

What was going on?

4:8, 9 The words in bondage and elements refer back to v. 3. Paul was in effect asking the Galatians, “Is it spiritual progress again to be enslaved to weak and beggarly rituals and observances (v. 10)? How could you have known God and turned away to ‘childish’ (v. 3) things?” The Galatians had come to know God through faith in Jesus Christ (see John 17:2, 3). He had adopted them as His own sons, but they were turning back to the law that had once enslaved them. (Bible study notes)

Going back to the law.

No point me making any more points

And I still have not got Romans 7, Paul talking about sin in the flesh.
And I know as I type this DC when he reads this has probably got his hands in is head and saying "Bill what is it you are not getting?

Don't worry DC, GOD said that to me 7 years ago with another issue that I did not get.
When he said that to me he followed it through, even though before that people tried to explain it as well.

God's time is perfect, he knows what's best for us, but also brings us to a place when we can accept it.

It's his timing that counts and not ours.

It is easily done, base doctrine on one verse or look at one verse based on what we have been taught or experience in life.

Emotionally or doctrinally entrenched.

Jesus can to release us from that and set us free.

Sin in the flesh is self- will, doing what you want to do outside the will of God . The will of God is walking in the spirit, and doing his will.

Therefore are condemned according to Romans 8:1?

Was Paul condemned when he talked about the sin that resides in the flesh, the stuff he did but did not want to do, but when he did it was not him doing it?

My response is not me going at you, just interested to know your thoughts

In Hebrews 10:38, it is Paul's soul that will have no pleasure in them, we are not too concerned with these words. If Jesus had said this, then you would have to be careful about your belief system.

I do not know how you do it bro, the self righteous arrogance of some of these people make me want to puke.
It is ugly words like this that got this thread shut down for a time. So thanks for reviving the bad stuff.

Remember, just because I do not believe what you believe 100% does not make me anything other than a Christian that thinks about things differently than you. Hold fast to what you believe and allow me the same right without puking your guts out. Please. That is a little over the top.

Ok interesting.

So does that refute what PST was saying?
I may be wrong but I read he posted that to say that salvation could be lost.

One thing that amazes me is how many believe that just because someone names Christ that they are a Christian....

The many that come before the throne of God boasting of their works, their right to enter the kingdom based upon said works and claim to know JESUS undoubtedly believed they were Christian as well.

As much as many like to deny this absolute truth it is the truth nonetheless....

If one believes into a false gospel which has no power to save, they are no more Christian than any other lost man on the street....

The real person is the spirit that is housed by the flesh. The flesh is weak, but the spirit is willing. Not his spirit doing it ,but rather the flesh that he lives in. ,which is acustom to doing the things of the world in the flesh. The war that is talked about between the flesh and spirit is an ongoing daily battle. One trying to defeat the other. If there was no sin in the flesh, then the spirit would not be at war with it.

There is not "One" mention of the word, "Eternal Damnation" , in Romans8:1, as a matter of fact it says just the opposite of what you say.

You add your words to scripture that are not there and misapply Gods words, to your own condemnation, not ours.
Bad Interpretation = Bad Application -- Not one mention of "Eternal Damnation", in Romans Chapter 8, not one.
Romans8:1,2
1)
Therefore, there is now "no condemnation" for those who are in Christ Jesus,
2) because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life "has set you free from the law of sin and death

Condemnation = Damnation to Hell

Come on now brother, it's very clear here in this verse, as well as all throughout Romans, and all throughout the New Testament.

Christians who practice the works of the flesh are condemned to the everlasting fires of hell, and will not inherit the kingdom of God.

  • There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1 NKJV

  • There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1 KJV

This apply's first and foremost to me.

Paul says the same thing in verse 13 -

  • For if you live according to the flesh you will die;

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:12-13

  • those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

again

  • Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them.

3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them. Ephesians 5:3-7

  • for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them.

again

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

  • Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Christians who practice the works of the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Paul makes it clear, that we are not to associate with immoral Christians, which is how immorality spreads.

9 I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person. 1 Corinthians 5:9-11

Please read what the scripture plainly says, that you just wrote -

  • so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

"We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21God made him who had no sin to be sin for us,
so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

We have been given all things that pertain to life and GODLINESS.

The New nature is a gift, given to those who obey the Gospel.

Now we have the been given everything we need to godly lives, and to inherit the kingdom of God.

Look at what we are to be doing, with what we have been given, in order that we MIGHT BECOME, the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

  • as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness

2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. 2 Peter 1:2-9

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence - we are to be diligent to add these following things to our faith.

  • IOW there is a process to us becoming the righteousness of God in Christ, so that we live according to the Spirit, and practice righteousness, and not practice the works of the flesh,

add to your faith virtue,
to virtue knowledge,
to knowledge self-control,
to self-control perseverance,
to perseverance godliness,
to godliness brotherly kindness,
and to brotherly kindness love.

8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Please don't reject what is being said here.

Please discuss these things with honesty.

I'm not talking about the word - I'm saying there is no condemnation in Christ, "condemnation/damnation/not the point"
