Who ends up in the Lake of Fire? Those whom God had judged to be evil and wicked. It is as easy to be admitted into the Lake of fire as it is easy to be evil and wicked. Those who pay no mind to God have an easier time of being evil and wicked, and so they are thrown in. It is harder for those who are on the path of righteousness, for God will not throw those judged to be righteous, into the Lake of Fire.

What happens to those who are in the Lake? Revelation 20:10 gives an inkling of what happens as it says, “and the devil…was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” For those who are thrown into the Lake, it’s a show that never ends and they are a fully participative audience.

So, for those who end up in the Lake there is no further hope for redemption to be saved. God has made His judgment, and that is that.

But let this serve as a warning to those who say ‘Lord, Lord’ but who do not believe. Let this be a warning to those who ignore the cries of the poor and needy, inasmuch as it says in Matthew 25:37-46, “Then the [self-proclaimed] righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I WAS A STRANGER AND YOU DID NOT WELCOME ME, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ AND THESE WILL GO AWAY INTO ETERNAL PUNISHMENT, but the righteous into eternal life.”

We see among us those who claim to be oh so religious, yet they do not walk on the path that God has laid out for them toward righteousness. We see others among us who take the words of the Bible out of context and attempt to deceive the true believers, trying to turn them away from the one true God. They claim in various ways and words to be on the true path of righteousness, yet in reality they are on a slippery slope toward the Lake of Fire; and anyone who follows them will wind up on that same slippery slope, as stampeding cattle head toward a cliff.

The Lake of fire is for members only. Who will those members be from this day forward?

The lake of fire is the 2nd death. "Fear not man who can KILL the body but fear God who can KILL both body and soul in the lake of fire."

People that are cast into the lake of fire are destroyed...annihilated as it were.

1. Why would God torment eternally a person who did silly things for a few years on Earth? God repays at most 7 times for evil....but eternity in torment for sins done in a temporal body is not an accurate judgment scheme from God. God is love...and merciful. So the killings will be merciful.
2. The only people that appear to live in torment with the devil and his angels are they who receive the mark of the beast....all others that are cast into the lake of fire die as a result.

Only those found not written in the book of the living will make the lake of fire...

Those who reject Christ by faith <---blotted out of the book of the living.

Very few seem to accept the Scriptures on hell in literal terms, we would all like them to mean something else. We would like them to mean something that's not as horrific as eternal torment in hell fire.
It's a terrible subject, I wish hell was like the Catholic purgatory where you go and do your time and pay for your crimes then enter heaven. I can see how the Popes made billions$$$$$$$ selling get out of hell tickets, everybody's was lining up to get one.
Anyhow, we have the Word of God as He gave it to us. We have to accept it as it is, we have no other choice so that should keep us on the straight and narrow path.

Hi Newton, while I agree with much of what you said in the OP, those judged to be wicked/evil by God takes in quite a cross section of the human race, doesn't it (cause that includes "all" of us, yes )? The Lord, for instance, tells us that it is the sick who need a doctor and, likewise, that the wicked/ungodly are the ones He chooses to justify by faith, yes?

Romans 4
5 To the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.

Yep, you quote from matt 25, basically he who abide in Him will not go to lake of fire

Matt 25 is parallel to john 15 if a branch not abide to the vine will be cut of and thrown to the fire.

If a branch abide to vine, it will bear fruit. Fruit of the Holy Spirit is love. Matt 25 is the manifestation of love.

Salvation by faith alone, but there is correlation between faith and love.

If one have a faith in Jesus, he become Christ like, Christ is love.

Such as your refusal to accept that Scripture says the dead know nothing? Yes, I see what you mean. It seems you think Jesus would idly warn us about the destruction of body and soul, and that we should instead believe that the soul is immortal, even though that is not taught in the Bible.

What about all the passages that talk about hell being forever and that the person is concise in there. We can't just ignore the parts we don't like, as much as I would like to.

You need to do a study on the word hell. For starters, it is a mistranslation in places. Sheol, Hades, and Gehenna were the original words in most cases, and they are simply holding places for the dead who know nothing. In other words, the grave. Hell and death get thrown into the lake of fire and are destroyed. Do you think the lake of fire already exists?

Magenta,

Soul Sleep and Annihilationism are the false doctrines of cults.

And Christ has already REFUTED your concept of "the dead know nothing". So do you believe that Jesus is the Truth, therefore He spoke the truth, therefore you are promoting a lie?

LUKE 16
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 And in hell [Hades] he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. [THE DEAD KNOW NOTHING????]

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. [THE DEAD KNOW NOTHING????]

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. [THE DEAD KNOW NOTHING????]

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. [THE DEAD KNOW NOTHING????]

27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: [THE DEAD KNOW NOTHING????]

28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. [THE DEAD KNOW NOTHING????]

29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. [THE DEAD KNOW NOTHING????]

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. [THE DEAD KNOW NOTHING????]

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. [THE DEAD KNOW NOTHING????]

Who ends up in the eternal lake of fire? The worldly and the elect of God who failed to be the very elect of God. (Those who call Him Lord but don't obey Him).

Sorry, I just don't know enough about this subject to make any concrete claims. As you said there are many different terms describing hell. Some passages seem to suggest soul sleep, while others say they're alive and conscience.
I don't believe that the lake of fire exists yet, that comes after the great white throne judgement.

Jesus telling a PARABLE does not refute anything. Jesus Christ also spoke of death as sleep. Why do you ignore that?

According to Scripture, fear of death is the cause of slavery to sin. Nobody in their right mind wants to die.
