All this speculation about the fate of all unbelievers is moot. Even professing Christians that do not have the Holy Spirit, have no chance to serve God. Only the participants of the first resurrection have any chance of ruling with Christ.

There are many morally good people in the world, but unless our Father draws them into His fold: they will never understand God's word and His plan. We don't have to worry about anyone being tormented in flames forever. Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death. Everybody sins and everybody pays. This is physical death. The dead are asleep. Paul may have said: to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. OK, to close your eyes at night: presto - it is morning. It is the same principal.

God's promise to resurrect "the rest of the dead" in Rev. 20 will be the first and only chance these that were not called in the first life will have. That is when they will have their chance to overcome Satan and his fallen army. This will be Satan's last act. When God is finished with purging the universe of evil: all the demons and evil people will be completely destroyed.

Eze. 28:14: "
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire." This establishes identity.
Eze. 28:18:
"Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee."
Eze. 28:19: "All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more." This tells of the fate of Satan. Which is also the fate of those that reject the Holy Spirit anointing by the end of the judgement period.

The phrase that says "shall be tormented... forever" must be something like a memorial (filmed?). Same as the statements of the undying maggot and unquenchable fire forever. Mark 9:44: "Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." Now come on, a maggot that never dies? It just doesn't make sense.

I still hold to the literal meaning of those verses, even if they don't make sense to our natural minds. They would make sense if we had supernatural minds.

The above is false Deade! If you will look closely at those scriptures, you will see that Paul is referring to the spirit departing from the body to be in the immediate presence of the Lord and not to the grave. Why would Paul be torn between remaining with the Philippians or departing to lay in the ground? No! He was torn between the two, i.e. remaining with them to be a strength to their faith or for his spirit to depart and to immediately be with the Lord.

Some have claimed that this scripture along with Phil.1:22-24 is referring to the resurrection, which it is not. The obvious reason for this is that, the resurrection has to do with the spirit returning to the body and it standing back up again. Where here in 2 Cor.5:6 and Phil.1:22-24, Paul refers to the spirit departing the body, not returning to it.

Regarding death, while it is true that Christian's die, Jesus said, "though they die, yet shall they live, again referring to the resurrection of the body.

There are two groups mentioned in Rev.20 who are resurrected. Those in Rev.20:4-6 is referring to the saints who will have been killed during the great tribulation, which is not the church, but those who will have become believers after the church has been gathered and during the time of God's wrath. They, like the church, will rule with Christ during the thousand years. This group is part of the first resurrection, which Jesus initiated. The next group that takes part in the first resurrection will be the church. Those mentioned in Rev.20:11-15 are also resurrected, but are not apart of the first resurrection for the second death has power over them. This group is the resurrection of the unrighteous dead and will have no opportunity for salvation. They are there before the white throne specifically to be judged for all of their sins, without mercy, with grace, without love.

It is also important to understand that death, whether the first one of the body or the second death, which is the lake of fire, that the spirits of people are conscious and aware in both.

Eze. 28:14: "
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire." This establishes identity.
Eze. 28:18: "Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee."

First, you can bet that the reference to "shall be tormented forever and ever" means exactly what it says. Obviously, regarding "their worm dieth not" has some other symbolic meaning behind it in connection with the description of their eternal torment. Just because you don't understand it don't throw out the gist of what is being taught.

I know you see yourself as this big teacher of scripture, you are not going to convince me of your interpretations. Don't bother telling me I don't understand something because we have different spirits teaching us. Which is really where the problem lies.

Ah!!! Hi, chap! Still promoting Calvinism, I see... :)

s....,

I remember you to be a advocate for OSAS.

I am doing a researrch project with my sunday school class in summer bible school.
We are convinced that the OSAS, no baptism necessary, child baptized in mom's womb by the fluid, don't have to repent because Christ did it for us, and several other new age religion items are relatively new in the christian community starting with the 60's.

We are looking for in published material about any of them before the 1960's.

Know of any? Anyone else?
Thanks.

As I left the Roman Catholic Church, the Parish priest said to me, the worst thing the Church did was give the Bible to the common man. He said they all went their own way and invented 38,000 new religions.
He said, we spend many years in Seminary to understand the scriptures and you're going to go and listen to some self appointed expert on the Bible. He was right to some extent, but he failed to mention that the RCC was the mother of all the false Churches.
Jesus did warn us that many false prophets would come in His name, so we must always pray that the Holy Spirit would guide us when we study the Holy Scriptures.

I will say this I do not know much about the RCC but what little I do know they are wrong on many parts, not to say that they don't have any good parts. Now as far as the RCC being the mother of all false churches that sounds like what your church has told you, I am very fully aware of what the reformed church teaches. Yes you would be right in that we need to pray for wisdom and Guidance.

Jesus said, in Mark 9:43-48 "And if thy hand offend thee, cut if off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."

This is where the error comes in, because it is old, it must be correct. Nevermind that Antichrist has been working on Christians since the first century. Christianity was hijacked by Constantine back in 325 AD and the RCC shortly after that. It has been on the wrong path all along.

The devil isn't stupid, if he creates a false religion it must have some truth otherwise nobody would be fooled. He inserts just enough lies to pervert the whole Christian Gospel.

Hello Mark!

They don't want the so-called "common man" to read the word of God, because we would find out what it really says. If we left it to them, then we would have to take their word for what God is saying and we could easily be deceived as they have been.

Praise be to God that He opened your eyes to this. You are very correct in that the RCC is the mother of all the false Churches, for she is the woman who rides the beast, which is that city that ruled over the kings of the earth when John was receiving that information from the angel. She is that city that sits on seven hills. And the reference to her wearing purple and scarlet is to point us to the very colors that the bishops and cardinals wear.

I personally believe that the false prophet is going to be one of the future popes. Just think about what that would do for membership, when one of the pope's as the false prophet begins to perform those miracles, signs and wonders on behalf of the antichrist/beast. The beast would have all of Catholicism in his hip pocket, as well as all of the false Christian sects that will be on the earth after the true church has been removed.

Does the Bible give us a clear picture of hell.

There are so many conflicting views on what hell is and what's it's like and who goes there.

My brother recently committed suicide and I'm so afraid that he's in hell now. He professed to be a believer in Christ, but I don't even know if it's possible for a true believer to take their own life.

In any case, hell is the most horrible thing one can imagine. It's rare to hear a sermon on hell, so it's one of those subjects nobody likes to talk about.

I would really like to know the truth about hell, are there people in it now, if so are they going to continue to burn forever, do all of it's inhabitants suffer the same punishment or level of pain, do the dead go to heaven or hell as soon as they die or do they have to wait for judgement day and is it possible for anyone who has taken their own life to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

I'm absolutely devastated by the loss of my brother whom I loved dearly and I'm struggling with the thought that he might be suffering as we speak. Is it worth praying for him now, or is it too late to pray for him.

I am sorry to hear about your brother. many people say many things but we do not know the last thing your brother cried out to. There is still hope. take comfort in that. That being said hell is real, and it is aplace that was never made for man. The biggest lie next to " there is not God" is the lie "there is no hell".
it is true once we die there is no more prayers for them however, you can pray for peace for you and other in your family . And it is good to honor your brothers life . That you can do. And I encoruage you to do so.

Sorry brother for the death of your brother but you can't do anything to help him now because he is death and there is no repentance in the grave. And his action of suicide shows unbelief and faithless.

The only person in the New Testament who committed suicide was Judas Iscariot who betrayed JESUS CHRIST. Now, let us listen carefully to what JESUS CHRIST our PRECIOUS LORD said about him, “The Son of Man goes as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born (Matthew 26:24.)

The WORD of GOD our GRACIOUS FATHER, tell us clearly where murderers will go. For it is written, "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall by My son. But the cowards, faithless, detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars--their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death (Revelation 21:8)."

Again it is written, "“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:19).

The Word of GOD says we must persevere to the end in order to be saved, Mark 13:13. Or Hebrews 3:14: “We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.” That is a very serious warning

Yes, there are people now in hell. All those who do not believed in JESUS CHRIST the Son of GOD are in hell.

The Lake of Fire is the final place for eternal punishment and for now, there is no one there. For it is written, " Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15).”

smh ,

You do not know the state of the brother. Why would say such a thing to this person is inconceivable. His action may have been due to mental health in anycase you do not know. If that is your idea of comforting a person please you are not gifted in that aera. You are reckless and ill equipped to speak of such things.

Hell is a very sobering subject, my brother was a really good person from a worldly view. He never had any enemies, he was very generous and everyone who knew him loved him. It's extremely difficult to imagine that a person like him would end up in hell, it would seem very unfair. I still respect Gods decision though, because I kn ow that God is perfect and everything He does is perfect and He has every right to do what He said He would in His Word.
Having said, I still struggle with the thought that my brother may be suffering in hell as we speak. It's a real living nightmare, I try to warn non believers about hell and they all hate me for it. Nobody want's to hear about it at all and I find that insane that people refuse to consider such an important issue.[/QUOTE]
A little more context to Matt 26:24 the issue was betraying Jesus and if you remember Satan entered into him.. The end result is the devil steals kills and destroys you. the idea we fully know what the person said or cried out before he or she died in assumption and should be silent when we do not know.

"And many who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, but others to shame and everlasting contempt. " - Dan.12:2

"and I have the same hope in God as these men themselves have, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked." - Acts 24:15

Regarding your question "Where is a verse or verses showing that the unsaved are raised to life again" it is important to understand the meaning of the word "anastasis" translated as "Resurrection," which is "ana = up again and histemi = to stand, properly 'to stand up again, bodily."

I would also correct you in that, though they are being resurrected, conscious and aware, their existence will be a state of death. Below is anther scripture showing the unrighteous dead coming to life, i.e. resurrecting.

"Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire." - Rev.20:11-15

The event above is the great white throne judgment, which takes place after the millennial period. This is where all of the unrighteous dead who have been in Sheol/Hades are resurrected and will stand before God for their official judgment for every sin they every committed, which are recorded in those books mentioned above. Those resurrected bodies will endure the lake of fire so that they are not burned up, but will endure the punishment of torment in flame. This is not considered life, but death. Death does not mean non-existence or annihilation, but is a state of complete separation from God in the lake of fire.

The on-going error is that, people in their thinking define death as fading to black, being non-existent. However, when comparing and cross-referencing scripture, it becomes obvious that the label "death" is defined by an individuals state of being in relation to God. Life being in a reconciled state with God and death being an unreconciled state with God. Both life and death are on-going states of existence. Death is a conscious existing state of being separated from God with a complete loss of well being, ruination in the lake of fire.
But if you read Dan 12:2 along with that of Jn. 5:29 superficialy one could come to the conclusion you have but read it again it does not say they are raised to life. Sure they are raised but not unto life, just because one sees the word resurrection does not mean they are raised to life. You can look at the rich man and Lazarus as your example but it is a parable. One clue is if it was such great torment then why does God use tormented as in sorrow.
