And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.Colossians 1:18

- JUNE 16 -
THE HEAD AND BODY ARE ONE

God’s Word says that Christ is the head and we the church are His body. So Christ and the church are one. Christ and you are one! You cannot say that God sees Christ the head perfect but His body imperfect. Or that Christ is accepted but His body not accepted. The measure of Jesus’ acceptance with God is the measure of your acceptance with God!

So it makes no sense to say that the head is well but the body sick, that the head is rich but the body in lack, or that the head is at rest but the body full of stress. My friend, what Jesus is before God, you His body are. As He is, so are you in this world! (1 John 4:17)

Today, God wants you to lay claim on Christ being your head. Start believing that all His perfections, and the delight and joy that He brings to the Father’s heart, He has set to your account. And you will begin to realize that as Jesus is a sweet-smelling aroma to the Father, so are you!

The more you begin to see that you are one with Christ, the more you will realize that whatever you need right now, He is dispensing to you. If you are sick in your body, Christ your head imparts His health and healing to you. If you lack wisdom, Christ your head freely imparts His wisdom to you. If you have any lack, Christ your head gives you His exceeding riches.

Beloved, have this rich revelation that Christ and you are one. You can never be separated from Christ your head from whom comes all the supply for your body—all the power, wisdom, provision and health. So declare, “As He is, so am I in this world!”

Amen to the good news for believers in the new covenant. It's the truth we believers must stand on to get through this life on earth while we wait to see God in Heaven. It's our sure foundation and our guarantee of a better covenant. the Solid Rock who IS Christ Jesus.

Jesus is our "Guarantor" Because Jesus lives after the POWER of an endless life. Heb.7:24 He is able to save forever those who have come to God through Him. He has made us righteous IN HIM. As He is., so are we in this world. 1 John 4:17

17 Herein is love made perfect with us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as he is, even so are we in this world.

1. This is to misunderstand and misapply an analogy.

A. Christ is not a big floating head.

B. Therefore, when the Bible says Christ is our "head", that must be some kind of analogy.

C. You cannot logically take an analogy, stretch it out in all directions, and use it to prove anything you like.

D.. You first have to look carefully at the text, and discern the author's actual intent and use of the analogy.

E.. Then you have to apply the analogy properly, in the way the author intended.

2. Even if your misunderstanding of the analogy was correct, it still wouldn't prove your point.

A. The health of a head isn't automatically transferred to all parts of the body connected to it.

B. We all know this from experience.

C. I cut my foot yesterday - well, my head is quite healthy, but the health of my head didn't make my foot automatically heal.

3. BACK TO SCRIPTURE:
Because you've misunderstood this analogy, misapplied this analogy, and even found that the misapplication of the analogy still doesn't prove your doctrine... you would seem logically compelled to go back to the rest of scripture to resolve the doctrine you're trying to prove.

This is saying..peace, peace, when there is no peace. Popular ministries exist because they tell people what they want to hear. The truth is very unpopular...but it doesn't deceive people into thinking that have something when they don't. Stay away from popular ministries that promise much and deliver nothing. They are like clouds that bring no rain...boasting of much but delivering empty promises.

The truth is that Jesus is knocking on the door...waiting for the body (his body ) to answer and become connected. The devil would have us say that the One knocking at the door (Jesus Himself) is but an imposter since Jesus must already be inside...that we must already have a perfect connection to the Head.

The devil uses this type of reasoning to stop us truly from becoming like Jesus. He doesn't care what we think as long as we remain disconnected from the power from heaven.

Despite your religious sounding rhetoric:

1 Cor 12:
27) Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

And this was written to the Corinthian church, which had a lot of problems...

We are to grow in Christ, and become mature in Christ, but even though none of us is fully there yet, we are, right now, members of the church of the body of Christ. Those who have acted on Rom 10:9 absolutely shall be saved.

Because the body is not one member but many, and because one member cannot say to another that they have no need of them: therefore those members which seem for feeble are necessary, and member which are thought of as less honorable should be more honored, so that there be no schism, but the members should have the same care for one another.
(1 Corinthians 12:14-26)
Let us consider our little toe which we take no thought of, but when we bump it then the entire body is suddenly giving all of its attention to that little member: therefore we ought to keep due honor to our little toe.

The good news ...the Gospel of our salvation IS GOOD NEWS better news than we can even comprehend. Jesus IS our salvation. Jesus IS the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE. The Bible is clear... "As HE IS so are WE in this world" Those of you who don't believe that literally will be at a big disadvantage in life. It's the GOOD NEWS that is too good to be true for the mortal man. But we are no longer mere mortal man dead in our trespasses and sins. We have been made NEW creations IN Christ.

And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.Colossians 1:18

Sad to see so many Christians find so many different "mortal men" excuses for not believing who you are IN Christ.

The Bible says to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" Many Christians have not yet grown in that knowledge although many have been saved for quite a few years. As was stated before; our well being hinges on our knowledge of Christ Jesus. Because "as He is so are we in this world"

The more we see and learn and believe about Jesus the more we will understand about what He has done and will do in and through us. Lot's of Christians who have been saved don't walk in that sure foundation. Instead of walking in confidence and freedom in Christ., many walk on earth as paupers and slaves. Although we have access to the blessings of being an heir., having all we need to be complete., many of us believers are lacking because of unbelief.

The Bible promises are ours because of Jesus. But because many of us Christians don't believe what Jesus has done because maybe we have not yet applied it to our own lives., have not yet been delivered., not set free. But we CAN be by faith. That is why we are told., admonished to GROW in the GRACE and KNOWLEDGE of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. Without that knowledge.,, we will be weak and our lives here on earth as believers and heirs and joint heirs with Christ will be lacking. The promises are for us but if we don't believe we can't access those promises. 2 Peter 3:18

Read Rev chapters 2 & 3 and you'll see this is just not true!

Where in those chapters ?

Is not Christ the head of the church as His body of beleivers the wife. Are we not to have the mind of Christ as our head?

Read the chapters, only 2 churches escape criticism, The Head of the Church is Faithful and True (in all that He does), He gives a true account of the believers (i.e. The Church) in each Church, and He certainly doesn't find them "perfect" in 5 of them. Also see 1Cor 11v29-32.

Are you the Solid Rock you stand on, given the head and the body are one? If that's the foundation, does that mean the body forces the head into a head stand under it?

This truly sounds like the purpose of you following the Lord isn't to follow him, but to lead him into your doing.

All honor and glory go to the Lord, not you. Not the body. Joseph Prince makes him sound like S & H green stamps -- collect enough to redeem your gift. The green stamps serve you, instead of you serving the Lord. Come away from Joseph Prince while you still have life. Because death will find you wishing you did give all the honor and glory to the Lord. Not you!

Word of Faith teachers make it all about the person, not the Lord. It tickles the fancy in life, but it also makes life the happiest you'll ever be. Considering those who follow Word of Faith preachers do so because their lives are hard, that's not very happy.

Please, for your sake, come away from Prince and meet the real Lord. He is more than you can imagine and soothes the pain in life.

Lord, thank you for Max's response. Thank you for using him in such a powerful way.

Would you please take good care of his hurt foot? Protect it from infection and bring it back to health.

Glory to you for wonderfully making us so that we usually do heal from cuts, bruises, and the myriad of ways we hurt ourselves accidentally every day. Amen.

I'm thinking "popular" wasn't the best word to use there. I almost get what you mean, but that word makes it sound like something broader then intended. After all, there would be no denominations at all, if popularity was always bad. There wouldn't be any church buildings, if popularity was bad.

The Lord is very popular among his people. And both the Lord and his churches do minister.

I wish I could figure out the better word. Can you? You almost got there when you said, "Stay away from popular ministries that promise much and deliver nothing. They are like clouds that bring no rain...boasting of much but delivering empty promises."

More nonsense from Joseph Prince.

It is true that Christ is the Head of the Church, and that every child of God is a member of His Body.

But that does not automatically translate into no sickness and no stress among Christians. In fact to make such a claim is preposterous.

Looks like JP has a habit of taking Bible truth and twisting it to fit his theology. Therefore he is clearly a false teacher.

I'm re- posting and again sharing the importance of "GROWING IN THE GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.

When Mosses told the Hebrews they needed to put the blood on the door posts of their homes many believed and did what Mosses said BUT there were some who did not FEEL safe (even when they WERE safe.)

They had the blood on the door but still WORRIED and FEARED and PANICKED. They did not enter into the REST. There were other believers who did enter into the REST and their well being was one of CONFIDENCE and ASSURANCE. Just like today., Many Christians are on both sides of the spectrum... some on the side of fear and lack - some on the side of REST and inheriting the promises by faith. I seek to be on the side of REST daily claiming and living in the promises by faith.

How you chose to live your Christian life is up to you. No one else can make that decision for you.

In geographical terms, if the gospel were Chicago, what you're teaching as the gospel is Borneo.

I find it odd that someone would do this on a "discussion" forum, and yet, rather than discuss, just repost the first post again as if that is the beginning and end of discussion. Are you being paid for posting Prince's stuff across the internet?

How people choose to live our Christian lives stopped being about us the day we were regenerated. It then became what the Lord chose for us. Alarming that you don't understand that, and that you are pushing for everyone to choose whatever they want to believe. Your last paragraph sounded like a disciple of The Force from Star Wars.

Is this the standard on this site? If it is, it was named improperly.
