cooking meals...what goes good together?where to start?

I'm thinking of cooking entire meals for my household particularly for dinner what are some of the best choices and to get better feed back I'll include some of the household's tastes and what wouldn't I must try to "avoid serving".
1.no high sodium, one member in particular it swells their feet(said member of household may or may not eat with household varying on time and other engagements but good to keep in mind)
2.no chicken if possible one member doesn't like the taste of normal chicken or breaded chicken(likes kfc and greasy chicken,go figure) so best to rule out where possible
3.all around the household likes rather "old fashioned" meals or foods like beef stew,chicken noodle soup,white tuna and so on.
4.only have access to stove,oven,and microwave,pots and skillet no crock pot or the like.
5.Particularly during this hot season trying to avoid using the "oven" especially since our air unit is on perhaps it's last leg and the small one we have doesn't do as good as we would like though with fans it circulates fairly decently.
Basically all in all I want to learn to cook beginner type meals and get better as I go.

Joefizz you want Filipino food 😅 I watch cooking videos on YouTube 😅 maybe try to watch some, there are plenty of choices that u can try 😅

Well imma help u.
Take any meat that is ok and make it ro cubes or slices
Fry in the pan with corn and other veggies. (Tomatoes, paprika,onion,...) and honey (oil first so it wont burn so easily.)
Add (if u want) tomato juice and if u like thicken it a little
You can serve it with fried potatoes or bread howrver you like..

I love cooking so if u need anything here I am lol

Look into a book on nutrition for how to make a balanced diet, look into cookbooks for specific ideas. I'll be back with some suggestions of my own :)

keep it 'light' Joe, as our digestive tracks should be top priority when planning meals -

hub and I try to avoid 'heavy-meats and foods' that can take a long time to digest and break-down -

our last meal is usually around 2:00p.m., with a later snack of fruit or of vegs, or a home-made power drink...

we realize that you are having to cook for several stomachs at once, and this will be a great challenge,
as in this day and age people have become very picky, as opposed to how my generation and a few after
ate what was put on our plates with no whining or back-talk...

there are some wonder chefs on video that teach exactly HOW to prepare nutritious meals at low-cost -

bona a petit!

to cook steak or hamburger, rub some butter on the pan or use a light coating of olive oil.
Put the meat in the pan, then turn the burner on low heat, a 3 on an electric burner that goes to 10.
To get the meat browned (not quite burnt but browned), leave the lid off and turn the heat up just a bit.
To make sure the meat is done all the way through, put the cover on when it is cooking.

Vegetables can be boiled.
Beets can be eaten raw after deskinning them.
Cabbage is good raw, just take off the outside leaves.
I have found that slicing the skin off of potatoes works better than using a potato peeler.
Slice away the peel with the potato on a plate or cutting board. Always cut away from you.
Hold the potato with a fork is needed.
Boil potatoes whole, they will have more taste versus boiling slices. It will take longer to boil.
Fry potatoes in oil or butter, heat the pan and oil on low heat then add potato slices.
If the potato is added to cold oil, the potato takes on the oil's taste.
Hot oil sears the outside of the potato.
Fry with lid on for faster cooking time. Lid off for browning the outside of the potato.
When the potato is almost cooked, you might have to add more oil or if the oil is used up, adding water will make potato hash.

Don't ever go in a kitchen.
You won't last 5 minutes.

So what to do?
You need a plan.
You need a perfect, foolproof plan.
I happen to have a perfect, foolproof plan.

Just borrow someone's cute kid, go to the mall, walk around, and in 15 minutes you'll have a new girlfriend.
It's guaranteed.
Next you just need to act really sad, and when your new gf wants to know the problem, just tear up a little and say you haven't been eating well because you can't cook.
She'll race to your house, and start cooking.
(Don't tell her the kid wasn't yours.)

Problem solved.

Here are some of my favorite go-to meals. Add something like bread, salad of some kind, and or fruit to these meals for a well-rounded finish. Veggies and dip are a good option too!

Beef roast and potatoes (oh yeah, and Yorkshire pudding!! lol)
Spaghetti
Steak and rice
Sweet potatoes or squash with pork
Taco salad
Soup
Puff pancakes
Bacon and eggs (yes, for supper!)
Stir fry
Creamed peas and potatoes
Loaded baked potatoes
Cornish pasties!!

Some of these are less labor-intensive, some more. Go with what works for you :).

BRUH YOU POOR POOR SOUL! who doesn't like ranch? And onions? Like what can you eat that doesn't have onions, tuna is understandable even if i kinda like it. YOU SHOULD'VE PUT THOSE TRIFLIN PEAS ON THERE! And like any meat with fat on it, and beats, and chicken when it's on the bone, and coconut everything coconut is just ew like they made it look so good in the cartoons but no it's not good like at all. Suggestions? Idrk tbh i would recommend just making things from scratch more often just doing that makes things way better. I would keep stapples like spaghetti noodles and rice with ground beef or chicken combine that with slightly different things like Vegetables and sides and you'll LOOK like your a savage, all you'll need is a #housewifen apron and youll be set. Also mix up how you cook it like for example baked chicken is completely different from fried. And seasoning is you're wife like you gotta keep her with you every time you enter the kitchen ofc it depends but i would experiment a bit with it until you find things you and the people your feeding like. Don't get discouraged you might burn water your first time but it's ok practice makes perfect. Also idk if it's just me but i feel like angel hair noodles taste way better then normal ones lol. Usually i just end up winging it with whatever i can find in the house so i don't really have recipes or anything and i only focus on like fat sugar and protein lol i wouldn't wanna give you some super sodium meal and youre like dude........you suck so yea ig I'm done now (that # belongs to me and i will get an apron that says that so don't steal my idea or I'll forget you're my brother in christ and you might not show up around these forums anymore 😜)
