This is the first day of the rest of your life
This is the first day of the rest of your life
'Cause even in the dark you can still see the light
It's gonna be alright, it's gonna be alright

Yes Waggles, I opened it spread it thinly on some lightly buttered toast and tasted it. It is a little too strong for my taste. So far no one here likes it. Sorry! I will keep looking for someone that likes it.

It is an acquired taste.... I like it.....

They are making some of us wait until we are 65 to get the card or the insurance.... Currently uninsured.
We have Medicare in Oz for the working and welfare peoples.
Lots of people have private health insurance and can access private hospitals and clinics, but always have to payout extra
for medical services …
In Oz we have public universal health care with full access to general practitioners who bulk bill the government for services
provided to welfare/low income peoples.
Also we have access to specialists, but usually an extra payment is required to pay for their fees above the Medicare fee schedule.
Everybody has to pay extra, even the poor: could be $65 or perhaps $300.
And everyone can go to our public hospitals for emergencies, sickness, elective surgery, maternity, etc.

The only major problem with the public system are the waiting periods to access specialist services.
One goes on a waiting list which could be anywhere from 3 months for an appointment to see a specialist to 10 years to
get the operation.
Otherwise it all works good (except for those who die before their operations are due).

Our healthcare is universal, but we pay into it monthly, at least if you are working you do :) Currently it is $75.00 a month; seeing a specialist does not cost extra, as long as they are part of the system. If you wanna see a naturopath, you would pay out of pocket, though. Until a few years ago all doctors were in the system, but now we are two tiered, also, meaning, if you are willing to pay your own way, you do not wait ten years for that needed operation. ;)

Wow you guys get a good education if they expect families to take out an appendix as those can burst quickly. Maybe some of your peeps are considered the walking dead waiting on an operation.

I jest in the above verbiage.... It is truly sad when people need health care and can't get it in time.

2 Timothy 3:1-7 King James Version (KJV)

3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.

2 Timothy 2:8-9

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

(2Timothy 3:10 -17)
