There is no cancel button, but you can exit the page or (just) click on the number of a random post in the top right hand corner of that post. This reloads the page to that exact post. Your text box will be gone. Possibly reloading the page would work too.

You have been most helpful Kody and I will try this. Seems to me though that this was an oversight when this new format was designed. The old system had it, you mess a post up or change your mind you just click cancel. This new set-up seems like a step backward and not forward. Thank you for your help, I sincerely appreciate it.

I noticed that you have 72 cakes, perhaps it is based on your age, but then again, I'm 63 and don't have 63 cakes, no candles either.

I went into my profile and checked a box that says show age. I guess the default is no. Go figure. Guten morgen fellow peeps, let us try to tackle this interface once again today.
