Love is a process of growth and maturity.....it has successes and failures as evidenced by Jesus asking Peter three times if Peter loved him....one minute Peter was saying he would die with Jesus and the very next minute claiming to not know who JESUS was....the full blown love of God is not automatically given...it takes time, growth, patience, endurance, maturity etc.....
Instead of wasting time arguing about who is saved and who's not it's best to take a look in your own backyard and get yourself right with God before making judgments on others!

How about love??? What does the bible say about love?
Hello Ella85! Here's a chapter fromthe Bible about "works of faith" and "love"........

[h=1]Galatians 5 King James Version (KJV)[/h]5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

well the context of this "argument" is endo posting on a thread meant to give glory to God for His grace and forgiveness out of love for Him called "not by works" which dcon made

the reason it is called not by works is because men/women arent saved by what they do or have done

anyone who is saved
is saved by God and what He has done

one of the biggest stumbling blocks is that a man is justified by deeds, works

or saved by their own righteousness and not the righteousness of Jesus

amen

It is His perfect righteousness that will be imputed to who so ever believes on His name. ;)

1 John 3:4
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
___________
James 2:10
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

_______________

romans 3

21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe
: for there is no difference:

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
____________
Philippians 3:9
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith

romans 5
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
me and a sister were talking about why God has placed this specific stumbling block there just the other day

romans 9
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

bump to point at the stumbling block

AMEN....no one is arguing who is and who is not saved, but rather the biblical path of salvation......there is but one gospel....saved by grace through faith without any deeds, works or religious hoop jumping required to gain eternal life found in Christ....

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his MERCY has he saved us.

Be merciful unto me a sinner <---this man the Lord forgave and he went away justified.....The mercy of the Lord endures forever.

H Ariel82, you are absolutely right about that. I am going through a 6 month nuclear radioactive treatment for prostate cancer. God is with me every step of the way and I wake up with a smile on my face every morning just praising Jesus for all the he does for us. I am physically,
'badly bent but not broken.'

Pastor John Piper wrote a book called, "Don't Waste Your Cancer" where by he says God can still use us as a servant even through our present disability. Pastor John Piper also has prostate cancer.

Nice post and thanks, God bless!
Brother I appreciate your stance and your demeanor....and pray that the Lord blesses you migo.....

Men attempting to offer their works or attempts to cover their sins began with Adam and Eve using leaves....God rejected it and had to shed blood then make their coverings from animal skins....the next in line was Cain who not only offered his works instead of a blood/faith offering which was rejected by God, he also is identified as a lost man and false teacher in JUDE......

The bible is clear....it is faith and faith alone that saves a man eternally.....

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy has he saved us.

Salvation is...

a. A gift of grace
b. Freely and eternally given through faith
c. Not earned, maintained, kept, topped off or embellished with works of any kind
d. Not based upon some faux law keeping drivel pushed by lawyers and Pharisees
e. Not based upon religious persuasion or affiliation
f. Not based upon sacramental observation
g. Not based upon IMMERSION which is the picture and public testimony of what has taken place by faith
h. It is eternally given and maintained by the power of God
I. It is begun by Christ, finished by Christ and Completed by Christ
j. It is of INCORRUPTABLE SEED
k. It is based upon the promises of Christ and his eternal word
l. It cannot be forfeit and or lost because it is Eternal and everlasting
m. ALL who have exercised saving faith have done the work of the HEAVENLY FATHER

I posted this is another thread and it rings true....

For salvation to be lost the following must occur.....

1. Jesus is a liar

a. I will never leave you nor forsake you
b. All that the Father hath given me I will lose nothing, but raise it up the last day

2. The Power of God is weak, inept and must fail

a. We are KEPT by the power of GOD through faith

3. Christ is weak and fails in his work of faith

a. Jesus is the BEGINNER, FINISHER and COMPLETES the work of FAITH HE BEGAN IN US

4. THE words ETERNAL and EVERLASTING are LIES by GOD and actually MEAN TEMPORAL and CONDITIONAL

a. HE that believes on the son is HAVING EVERLASTING LIFE
b. ....AND I GIVE UNTO THEN ETERNAL LIFE

5. The SEALING of the HOLY SPIRIT is UNDONE and GOD LIED

a. SEALED UNTO THE DAY OF REDEMPTION by the HOLY SPIRIT of PROMISE

6. GOD LIED AGAIN because the seed we are BORN of is CORRUPTABLE

a. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

7. John is a liar when he writes we may KNOW we have eternal life (see point 4)

a. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

8. God lied again when he inspired...

a. NOTHING shall separate you from the LOVE OF GOD

and ON and ON and ON and ON and ON......

It must be tragic to believe in a weak, inept god that cannot keep his word, his promises and one whose power is unable to keep you saved after he saved you at YOUR WORST and while in a totally LOST STATE!

It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have ZERO to do with Salvation!

English Standard Version
he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Berean Study Bible
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Berean Literal Bible
He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

New American Standard Bible
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

King James Bible
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
You keep ignoring the place works has in salvation! Why?
2 Biblical statements.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus.
Faith without works is dead.

Therefore no works no faith!!!

Works doesn't save but without works there is no salvation.

Jesus said by their fruits (works) you shall know them. This is how we are to discern wolves in sheep's clothing. Does a Pastor preach the gospel? This is how to know if the pastor is a Christian or secular. Too many churches have been taken over by secular ministers in order to have access to the church money. Presbyterian USA was taken over in 1932 as documented in the book "Crossed Fingers" by Gary North. All of the 7 sisters are secular today. Sub denominations are where the gospel is still preached.

Ephesians 1:3-6 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. 4 For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love 5He predestined us for adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will,…having predestined us to ADOPTION as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself , according to the good pleasure of HIS WILL. 6, to the praise of the glory of His grace , by which HE made us accepted in the beloved.

WOW , Ephesians the whole book could not explain it any better...The whole of the NT reveals who we are in Christ...It is truly scary if we can not get passed the knowledge that God has given us , we must persevere and get through that stumbling block , otherwise there will be no growth...xox...

Hi everyone.

I know there is a prayer forum but I want to post a request here as I know a lot of you on here.

I have just got back from the vets after having our oldest family dog put to sleep.

My kids are devastated and two of them are in middle of exams. Please pray for them.
They do not recall life without Toffee.

Please pray for me as well. I made the choice to put her down.
I had no choice, over the last month's we have been back and forth to the vets. She had liver and spleen problems.
This last week she had gone down hill, we were at the vets last night and they have us painkillers and meds. But today that's not even worked.

It was so painful to see her in pain and I wasn't prepared to put her through an op, she was 13.

But I feel like a murderer.
I'm truly gutted as well.

So I ask for prayer for us all.

I'm say here typing and my Toffee dog would have been sitting next me head on my lap.

I picked up on some serious MEAT from today's Sermon:

Galatians 6:14-15 (HCSB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the cross, and I to the world.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] For both circumcision and uncircumcision mean nothing; ⌊what matters⌋ instead is a new creation.

So is it BRAGGING RIGHTS, that motives most to believe that their WORKS count for something? There is Paul's Example, and we should all follow it.

Psalm 63:1-4 (HCSB)
1 God, You are my God; I eagerly seek You. I thirst for You;
my body faints for You in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] So I gaze on You in the sanctuary to see Your strength and Your glory.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] My lips will glorify You because Your faithful love is better than life.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] So I will praise You as long as I live; at Your name, I will lift up my hands.

Most people THINK that the Jews were SAVED by their WORKS. I think they were SAVED BY THEIR FAITH, the exact same as us.

Romans 4:2-5 (HCSB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] If Abraham was justified by works, he has something to brag aboutbut not before God.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Now to the one who works, pay is not considered as a gift, but as something owed.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] But to the one who does not work, but believes on Him who declares the ungodly to be righteous, his faith is credited for righteousness.

AMEN....anything that takes away from all glory going to the Heavenly Father or Christ is not of God and is satanic to the core.....

ALL GLORY unto HIM in the CHURCH BY CHRIST JESUS <---ALL is conclusive of all and any religion that places emphasis upon WORKS done as part of the salvation process is not of God....IMO

If it takes away ANY GLORY from CHRIST it is false......and exactly why it is NOT OF WORKS lest ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST!

Try this on for size. Two Biblical concepts.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus.
Faith without works (deeds) is dead.

Here is James on the topic. Dcon will have a hissy fit about James trying to claim he is saying something else. I stand on he means what he literally says

James 2 NIV

Faith and Deeds
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
