No he was neither a liar nor a false witness. Dcon said that Christ became a curse for us. He could also have said "accursed". And here is the Scripture which spells it out plainly:

1 Corinthians 2:10-16 but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. The problem is too many want to ignore the place works has in salvation. Here are principles stated in the Bible.
1. We are saved by grace through faith.
2. Faith without works is dead.
This states works is required for faith.
Therefore no works no faith.
While works doesn't save it validates true faith. Why do people ignore this requirement for saving faith?

I get annoyed with people quoting single verses. It is too easy to make false claims this way. While I agree with your post it would be better to put the verses in context. For example:

It's "Not of works" because it's not possible by works. "And if it is of works Grace is no longer Grace," means, "If it is of our achievements then God's influence is no longer God's influence. For example there is a man who boasts of God's Sabbath and is unable to enter in because of unbelief in the Grace of God: judging those who don't believe him: under the Law. "The simplicity of Christ" is "Christ in you the hope of Glory (Resurrection)," having exposed us as contrary to God, and because we can't be there in the flesh, is the conflict we are in: many think they already have this perfection and do not advance in Christ into this place of rest; the finished work of God, from a place of rest in Him. Both those who believe in works and those who believe in Grace can be hindered because of unbelief. Also some who believe in works are believing in the works of God and are progressing towards God and some who believe in grace go on in their own way. "Every man shall give account of His own work."
You have summed up the law perfectly. Love the Lord and love your neighbor. Love is the key.
Again, the outward component of love is taking care of your neighbor which is other words for 'good works'.
Having faith and having trust and receiving grace is what being born again is all about. The outward sign that that has happened is the love you give to God and your neighbor, and that is manifest in good works. Good works take the form of helping your neighbor plow the snow off their drive way, helping to weed a widows garden, etc., etc., etc. These are the things a saved person would be engaged in. Turn a blind eye on your neighbor is a sign that you are not saved.
The world is a bright place as we do these things and our future is assured as we love God and love our neighbor.
